Elite Hotel Darica in Gebze

The hotel’s location is truly amazing, and that’s probably its strongest point. However, my overall stay left me quite disappointed for what is supposed to be a five-star property. • Room & View: It really depends on luck whether you get a room with a nice view or not. Shockingly, both types are listed at the same price. The room I got was extremely small, smelly (despite being non-smoking), and much hotter than outside even with the AC always on. I requested a change twice but was politely brushed off with, “We can’t do it right now.” • Comfort & Amenities: The toilet amenities were very limited, the drain in the bathroom didn’t work well, and the in-room safe was broken until someone came to replace it. The coffee part in the room only had Nescafe and tea (no creamer), plus just two tiny water bottles. The staff even seemed surprised when I asked for more. • Breakfast & Coffee: The breakfast buffet was underwhelming – mainly cold cuts and bakery items with very little variety. The coffee corner offered only instant coffee with milk in small cups, which felt far below five-star standards. • Service & Staff: Communication wasn’t easy, as most staff members struggled with English. Service overall felt below standard. When I asked about upgrading to a sea view and offered to pay extra, I was told it wasn’t possible since I booked through an agency. After some convincing, the manager was consulted, but she only spoke Turkish and refused in a rather unfriendly manner. • Facilities & Wi-Fi: The gym was okay, but many machines clearly needed maintenance. There were no clear instructions about opening hours, and I was told it was closed at 9:30 PM, which seemed unusually early. The Wi-Fi coverage was fine, but the speed was so incredibly slow that it was practically unusable for anything. • Price vs. Value: For the high price, I expected a much better experience. The level of service, room conditions, food, and overall comfort simply didn’t match what a five-star hotel should provide. Bottom line: While the location is fantastic, everything else falls short of expectations. If you’re considering staying here, be prepared for hit-or-miss service, very limited breakfast, and facilities that don’t justify the cost.

Good location worse customer service and room quality, Air conditioning does not work have complained many times in my 7 days stay every time I asked them they said technical issue and never fixed.
Breakfast is not good aswel no fresh fruits, yogurts and juice is horrible and so sweet unable to drink only location is good nothing else I will not recommend anyone

V beautiful sea view and outside area. Hotel Room cleanliness is v good but air conditioning system is v bad . Not working properly. Also they don't have menu in breakfast except green veggies and green apples. They should add variety of fruits juices and soups. juice color is like Miranda and Pepsi. We are paying alot but for nothing. Offering just 2 water bottles. If you ask for more they will charge money. For swimming no free swimming caps . Why this much money then ?? Just for room and bed.
