Gold Coast Hostel in Antalya

I really wanted to like this hostel because the atmosphere is genuinely social. People spend time in the kitchen and on the rooftop, and it seems like a good place to meet other travelers. Unfortunately, the private room did not match the price point or expectations.

The room has several cracks around the door frames and the paint is chipping. The bathroom is not pleasant to look at. The shower is difficult to use because it takes a long time to heat up and only works properly if you hold the pipe at a specific angle, which is inconvenient. The bedding is also unusual. They provided the inside of a duvet but not a duvet cover, which felt uncomfortable and not very hygienic.

Another important note is that the hostel only accepts cash. This was frustrating and not clearly communicated in advance, so be prepared if you decide to stay.

Noise is also a significant issue. There is a nearby bar that plays loud music late into the night. It is currently well past midnight on a Saturday and the music is still going, so sleep is difficult unless you are a deep sleeper who does not mind constant noise.

Overall, the social vibe is a plus, but the room quality, noise level, and cash-only policy do not justify the price for a private room. There are better options available nearby. If you care more about meeting people and do not mind very basic facilities, this might still be a fit. Otherwise, I would not recommend it.

BED BUGS!
The first night we got there, we lay down for less than an hour and our backs were completely bitten by bed bugs. We told them, and they moved us to another room, insisting they didn’t have bed bugs — but they do. After they moved us, we saw them trying to clean, and we didn’t get bitten again. Even though it has a nice rooftop, the bed bugs are an absolute nightmare.

Wow never in my life have I experienced such a poor welcoming from a hostel. I checked in and I was told the room wasn’t ready even tho I got a email from the owner stating I will be be able to check in before 12pm and then the owner greeted me with some Aussie slang and told me to leave after getting in my face. I do not recommend going to this hostel. The owner needs to re-access why he owns a hostel

I used the laundry service while staying here. I was supposed to pick it up at 10 a.m. on the day of check-out, but I didn't get it until 11 a.m. and it was still wet. I asked for a refund, but they just kept apologizing and saying it was the dryer's problem, not theirs. After protesting for about 10 minutes, I was eventually given a partial refund, not the full amount, and I had to pack up my wet clothes again. They are friendly but must learn how to compensate for bad service.

Horrible rooms nothing like photos. 202 is under bar so extremely noisy with constant scraping of furniture. Throughout the hostel, people keep slamming doors, and talking, laughing like they are deaf. No hot water to wash with. When I mentioned this they said I should ask for hot water to be turned on? Really grotty place and after taxes paid 46 euro for this disgusting room for one night. Since then I have paid 25 euros for a room with constant hot water and breakfast included in an area close by. This Gold hostel is a rip off for private rooms. Don't stay as no hot water, and lots of noise at night until its time to wake up.

This may be the worst experience I have ever encountered in my life and I have experienced a lot. our room looked nothing like the photos, we had no comforter, the bathroom smelled awful, the window was clearly painted over. VARIOUS bugs came into the room. On the off chance that the door closes, (in most cases they don’t), we are able to hear absolutely everything (including another person in an adjacent room complaining about bugs) happening outside and inside the building. Maybe the only good thing about this hostel is the terrace. My friend and I woke up with bug bites (unexplained). The bathroom smell was so bad that it was impossible to go in there without gagging. When we asked them for a refund for the remaining days, they said they could only refund half. They are cash only and probably the reason why is because anyone with a card would file a dispute because this place is nothing like the photos. They gave us 1 days worth back, which is 40 Euros when we had paid 50 euros and said Hostelworld takes the other 10 euros, which doesn’t sound remotely believable. Anyways please come at your own risk
