Twenty Hotel in Antalya

🌍
Turkey, Antalya, Imaret Street, 9C

Multiple guests praised the central location in the old town, close to shops, restaurants, and landmarks. The rooftop terrace offers stunning panoramic views of the city, sea, and mountains, frequently highlighted as a positive feature. Staff at night reception and some daytime personnel were described as friendly, helpful, and multilingual. Air conditioning generally worked well, and some rooms had comfortable beds and decent shower water pressure. Breakfast served on the terrace has good views and includes basic items like eggs, cheese, and Turkish tea. Several guests reported poor cleanliness, including dirty rooms, mold, and persistent bad odors such as sewage and bed bug bites. Maintenance issues like a broken bathroom door, malfunctioning air conditioning, and weak water pressure were common complaints. Noise disturbances from nearby entertainment venues, street activity, and internal thin walls affected sleep quality. Reception staff at times were reported as rude, unhelpful, and dismissive when guests raised concerns or requested assistance. The hotel lacks advertised amenities such as laundry service, coffee after breakfast, and reliable room cleaning, which guests found disappointing. No on-site parking and misinformation about parking availability caused frustration for guests arriving by car.

Description

Twenty Hotel is a small 5-story establishment located in Antalya's historic old town, offering 25 rooms including Standard Double and Superior Double options. The hotel presents bright, ergonomic rooms with air conditioning and WiFi, and some rooms offer views of the city, sea, and mountains. It features a rooftop terrace where breakfast is served daily from 08:30 to 10:00, providing panoramic city views. While the hotel is modest in facilities—a small pool cover area, free WiFi, a bar, and a 24-hour front desk—its location and rooftop views are often praised. The hotel is a third-line beach property with a public sandy beach and wooden platforms 600 meters away, where umbrellas and sunbeds are available for a fee. Check-in starts at 14:00 and check-out is by 12:00. Despite some positive comments on location and staff friendliness, several guests report issues with cleanliness, noise, and maintenance, making it a mixed experience overall.

Location

Situated in Antalya's old town, Twenty Hotel lies just 313 meters from the Mediterranean Civilizations Museum, housed in a restored Ottoman mansion. The nearest sandy public beach with wooden platforms is 600 meters away, offering paid sunbeds and umbrellas. The hotel is about 8 km from Antalya Airport (AYT), facilitating relatively easy access for travelers. Nearby dining options include a restaurant 135 meters away and the highly rated Cafe Eski Masal Hotel at 156 meters, known for its central location and good breakfast. The hotel is within walking distance to the city center, shops, markets, and historical sites, making it convenient for sightseeing. However, parking is not available on-site, and guests face difficulties parking nearby due to restrictions in the old town area.

Tips

  • If you plan to stay here, request room cleaning actively as it may not be done daily by default.
  • Bring your own toiletries and consider earplugs due to noise from nearby venues.

Avoid.
Its that bad I don't know where to start. On entering the hotel it has a lovely clean, shiny floor. I'm afraid that's where the positives end. It was filthy and smelt very bad. It doesn't look like its been cleaned since it was built. Felt dirtier when getting out of the shower it was that dirty.

The view from the roof terrace is lovely but didnt feel comfortable to sit up there with it being so unwelcoming.

Staff were very rude. Did not feel welcome in this hotel at all. Don't be fooled by the pictures you see online as ot it looks nothing like them. I've stayed in better hostels.

I advise this hotel for their location and terrace. Very beautiful place.
Ideal place for a couple of days placed in the old city with close proximity to every sightseeing.

If to speak about breakfast, they are very simple (eggs, cucumber, tomatoes, cheese, bread, tea).
Rooms : the view is awesome!
Speaking about the rest of facilities- clean and modest, good for spending nights.

A fairly cheap option. The room is already tired, but it's fine for one night. It's not worth staying longer.

I was there for 7 nights apart from location everything was a bad experience. I had room 114 and it was disgusting, from my first day the staff from reception told me that they would change my room but did not happened. I my 5th day I asked to speak with manager, I wanted to ask a favor, to find a solution because I had to check out at 11 am and my transfer should come at 7 pm(I needed a shower at list 2 hours before my leaving), but the manager avoid me for 2 days. I spoke with the manager in my last day and I was told is nothing that they can do.
I will strongly recommend to avoid Twenty Hotel.

I paid for a room with 2 adults on Trip.com but was made to pay an extra 750 Turkish Lira because one of the adults was a Turkish citizen. This is terribly poor and nonsensical service.

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever experienced. The room was unclean and had a strong, persistent sewage odour. Even worse, we developed bites during our stay, which we believe were caused by bed bugs. Despite staying for five nights, our room was never cleaned—not even once.

The situation worsened when the air conditioning broke down. When we politely requested to switch rooms, the daytime receptionist was shockingly rude and aggressive. He claimed the hotel was fully booked and said we’d need to pay a fee just for him to “consider” a room change the next day. This was clearly false, as the hotel was nearly empty. We had already been moved once before because of the unbearable sewage smell, and it seemed like that was seen as a favor rather than a basic standard of service.

With no working AC in over 40°C heat, we had no choice but to check out early and find another hotel at our own expense. Honestly, it was worth it just to escape that place.

Any positive reviews here should be taken with a grain of salt—our experience was so bad, it’s hard to imagine they’re genuine. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

The good: The value for money was excellent, especially given the extremely central location (2 min walk to the nearest supermarket and city centre). The best thing about this hotel was the nighttime reception host - he was extremely friendly, helpful, and kind. In terms of facilities, the AC worked well, as did the TV.

The bad: We had to endure loud sounds of construction of fire doors for the first 3 days of our stay (drilling, banging, and slamming of doors between 10-5pm).
We were told that a new requirement was imposed by the government, which is fine, but the let down was that the management did nothing to compensate us for the uncomfortable state of those few days. I suggested that our terrace breakfast (which was extremely disappointing regarding taste and price (the view was great)), should be removed from our bill to remedy the situation. The management refused, which I do not think is reasonable. At one point, we were not allowed to go into our room because of the construction, and when we finally were able to enter, it was full of dust and construction residue which was not cleaned by housekeeping. Housekeeping did not clean the room two of the times that we requested it, even though we gave our keys in for that purpose, because they were
"busy". The initial cleanliness of the room was unsatisfactory, with mould marks on the ceiling of the bathroom, and grime in other places. On our last day of stay, the hot water stopped running. Some items listed in the inventory (e.g. the iron) were not actually provided. The bed sheets were very old (full of lint and pilling) and did not fit our mattress, so they kept sliding off, which was extremely annoying. Overall, a mediocre stay.

Best thing about this hotel is the location, it is excellent, very central and easy to get to the shops, restaurants, markets, marina, mosques. Every Friday and Saturday night there is some loud music playing from outside the hotel however this didn’t go on too long and we were finally able to sleep.

Breakfast, which is on the rooftop was ok. I would try it at least once. The views were the best part.

They stored our luggage the day we checked out for a couple of hours which was really helpful.

Areas for improvement:
• You have to ask for room cleaning, which is fine, however the issue is that it is not available every day, this would have been useful as we were doing excursions almost everyday and wanted to come back to a clean room.
• The laundry was not available, this would have been useful.
• Put a fridge in the rooms, all our chocolate melted through the day!
• The hotel reception is two floors up but there are no lifts. It would have been good to have someone at least help take luggage up and down the stairs on arrival/ departure

Dissonance in price-quality. Overall tolerable. Bedspread and bed linen require urgent replacement. Breakfast is poor. The staff is friendly.

Hot water pressure 👍 sea view 👍
Barking dogs under the windows all night until the morning 👎
Concerts until midnight from the cafe and Azan are mandatory and expected, there can be no complaints here

My stay at Hotel Twenty was an absolute disaster from beginning to end, with several issues that made it the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.

One of the biggest problem was the bathroom door. One morning, it got stuck, and even two staff members couldn’t open it. This meant I had to use the rooftop toilet, which was filthy because housekeeping only comes every other day due to "staff shortages," despite what’s advertised online. I had to clean urine off the hotel's toilet's seat myself. When they finally got the bathroom door open, they told us we couldn’t close it from the outside again because the door is broken. When I complained about how unacceptable this was, the receptionist yelled at me, saying he was too busy, and then left.

Another major issue was the lack of soundproofing. Although the website claims the rooms are soundproof, we could hear everything—noise from neighboring rooms, the hallway, outside, and even from the roof. During a power outage, I couldn’t sleep because I could hear other guests flipping their light switches on and off. The noise was constant and made it impossible to relax.

The service was equally terrible. Housekeeping, which was supposed to be daily, only happened every other day. We constantly had to request for simple things like toilet paper and body wash. The receptionist was rude and dismissive when we raised concerns. Whenever I spoke, he just looked at my boyfriend, and said "Sir", then he continued talking only to his, and ignoring me. He just referred to his boss, but wouldn't put us in contact with him. Another staff member even admitted they’ve had multiple complaints about this particular receptionist, but management has done nothing to address the issue.

On booking websites it is also advertised that the hotel is smoking free throughout (meaning both public and private areas), but the staff let the guests smoke on the rooftop where we have breakfast. This forces us to sit very close to people smoking while eating. A smoke free hotel was one of the main criteria we had when we booked our holiday. When we raised the issue, the receptionists said that they would never tell the guests not to smoke on the property.

On top of all this, the hotel lied about its amenities. None of the advertised features like a free coffee machine, laundry service, packed lunches, room service, a Turkish bath/hamam, key card access, 24-hour security, a mini-market, an ATM, or a sun terrace were available during our stay. They even limited guests to one egg per person at breakfast, which was absurdly petty.

In summary, Hotel Twenty is a scam. The soundproofing is nonexistent, the service is appalling, and the bathroom door situation was just the last straw. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone—stay far away!

UPDATE
Since I don't know how to reply to Hotel Twenty's response, I write it as an update:

Dear Hotel Twenty,

I’m disappointed by your response, though sadly not surprised. I don’t make a habit of giving bad reviews, but I felt it was important to share our experience to help others avoid a similar situation. I want to clarify that we didn’t ask for a refund, and I have nothing to gain from this review. My intention was simply to provide an honest account of our stay
Share your experiences, help others make the right choice!

This is a nice small hotel centrally located in Antalya old town. Big and nice rooms and extremely helpful hotel personnel.

The room was vintage. Some of the stuff in the room is a bit old like the fridge and the jacuzzi shower pod. No breakfast buffet. Quiet at night, the bed was quite comfortable. I looked at their business card, at the reception “Dimitri Vasiliev, General Manager” That didn’t sound like a Turkish name, I asked, “Is he Russian” “Yes” “but he’s Jewish, right?” I asked. “Yes”. So if you’d like to support local Jewish businesses, this is the right place to stay.

Oh, my God, I really want to give a bad review to this hotel. It's so noisy at night. It's not soundproof. It's not quiet outside until three o'clock in the morning. It's on the roadside. There is a hard and thin blanket on the bed. The smell of wood in the room is so strong. People who don't sleep well should not live in this room

Excellent boutique hotel. Service was impeccable and the breakfast spread was well done. The only challenge for us was that the AC was off ahead of our arrival in our room. This meant that it took 24 hours before it got comfortably cool enough in the room for us to sleep. Additionally the internet TV was not connected to the internet so we could not access content. These small details do not detract from an otherwise excellent stay.

It was a quiet and peaceful holiday in the old city of Antalya, close to entertainment centers. A concept that was not crowded was considered for breakfast by the pool. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. It was great in terms of price-performance evaluation.

A particularly charming boutique hotel located in the old city of Antalya. We were 4 people and stayed in the Ottoman room; An extremely luxurious room, 90 meters including 2 bedrooms, a living room, an extremely large bathroom with two sinks and a huge jacuzzi. The breakfast is excellent and full of good things. The staff is professional, welcoming, helpful and extremely kind. Always taking care of the well-being of the guests!!! The hotel is clean, the atmosphere is pleasant and it is located in an excellent location; Only 15 minutes from the marina and within walking distance of all shops, restaurants, cafes, pubs and bars. An excellent hotel, and an attractive price - I highly recommend it!!!
The pool is small, not suitable for those who want to spend a day in the pool, but more for rest and relaxation. It's important to know that all the hotels in the old city are located between entertainment venues, so it's not particularly quiet at night, but we travel all day and come back tired, so it didn't disturb our sleep :)

Fantastic ambience and location, excellent service and a friendly owner. The breakfast spread that they lay out is the stuff of legend.

The rooms are clean and spacious. The Staff are attentive and because it is a small hotel they really make you feel welcome. Lovely to stay in the Old Town. Great area to walk around in. The old bazaar is within a 5 minute walk and the main shopping areas within 10 to 15 minutes walk. There are a lot of historical sites to see with the coast on your doorstep. I would 100% stay here again.

Location was perfect if you want a peaceful night of sleep in the old town and also want to be close to the sights you want to see in the day. We initially had a room close to the center of the town which is where the beer garden / pubs where. Convenient but was impossible to sleep. We moved to Eski Masal thankfully, the rooms are spacious, we took the Anatolian suite which is on the second floor. Feels like a cultural experience so no complaints about decor which is kept to a minimum in the room. Toilets were amazing, equipped with a modern shower with massage features and there’s also a huge jacuzzi. Only issue were the towels have a bad smell as perhaps the room has not been used in a while ? Minor problem as everything else is good. Breakfast was a good selection given the exclusivity of the hotel meant there would not be many guests (5 suites max?) at one point. Nice pool too. Receptionist was helpful as offered to cook scrambled eggs on the side as the buffet spread was mainly cold. Would recommend to anyone who isn’t looking for a crazy night out in Antalya and wants a peaceful evening uninterrupted by the loudness of the streets should you find yourself staying near pubs and restaurants which is an 80% chance.
