Tumay Hotel in Antalya

Absolutely shocking experience, never had anything like it in my entire life. During our stay in Septemer 2024 there was an electrical fire in the basement. NO fire alarms went off, luckily my boyfriend woke up to the smell and we ran down stairs through the thick smoke.

The police arrived and went around door to door of each of the other people staying to get them out safely. No smoke detectors fit throughout the building. After this horrific night of sitting out by the pool, we still had a week left of our stay- but due to the smell, no electricity and general lack of health and safety r concern shown by the staff I understanbly no longer wanted to stay there.

They would only refund me the remaining week of my stay in Turkish lira, even though I had paid GBP to stay and was conned out of nearly £200. They point blank refused to refund any more even after the horrors and stress we had to endure. Booking.com have been of no help in getting my refund either.

Before this- The room itself was extremely dated, dirty but could be overlooked for the somewhat cheap stay and location. There was chunks of plaster missing out of the wall, revealing bare brick around one of the sockets that hanging loose out of the wall. The bathroom was dirty , black around the shower, etc.

I would never recommend anyone to stay here. If you value yours/your families safety at all. The literal only good thing about this hotel is that the beach was a 10/15 minute walk away. Other than that, awful, awful, awful.

Ok so there is no lift .. and our room was on the 3rd floor ..
No help offered with suit cases..
Staff was always on their phone and I had to looking for them ..
The pool was clean but the staff and friends were playing some form of game and just kept staring at my wife.
Breakfast was included but very very basic.
The room itself was very basic.. no kettle, had to ask for one and the room cleaning consists of mopping the floor and a change if sheets with holes and that smell of cigarettes.

If I has to give a plus it is that it is withing 10 mins from the beach.

Oh the flies at breakfast was too much ..

Not good for our senior family members as the stairs is a killer ..

Pros: friendly staff, convenient location – 300m to the city beach. Developed infrastructure around: restaurants, convenience store, bus stops.

Cons: humid and chilly rooms, damp bedclothes. Once my bed was served with totally wet blanket, so the other bedclothes became wet too. Poor state of bathroom with mouldy tiling and sealant, spotted towels. There were broken TV in my room. Scarce breakfasts. An empty pool on a backyard, the landlord is evidently trying to skimp on everything. One day there wasn't hot water in a tap. An overall impression is that the hotel is quite old and deterriorating bit by bit without landlord's concern.

UPD. I stayed there for the second time because I've booked and full prepaid my room way too beforehand. And looking for another hotel, cancellation of prepaid booking and other fuss for a matter of spending one night is the last thing I'm interested in during my vacation. Sure, I realize, that you're closing your pool for winter. But, c'mon folks, I were there on October 14–18 and average day temperature was ~24-26°C. FYI, I was in Pamukkale a couple days later, it was only 22°C and there were crowds of people around the pool. Of course I wouldn't refuse to refresh during the day, if I had such an opportunity.

To begin with, as soon as I turned on the hot water in the shower, the shower head broke and the boiling water fell on my arm causing burn 🔥 and scar to my hand.
When the owner knew about that, he gave me a wound creme and there was no apology for their mistake and they didn't care to check about my condition later ( NO renovation AT ALL for the bathroom equipments)

Additionally, the room had:
- Heavy smell of cigarettes
- No interphone to contact the staff if you need something
- Refrigerator with loud noise
- Room equipments not renovated
- very bad internet connection

- decent but good breakfast
- very friendly staff
- nearby you can find everything from a pharmacy, mall, mini shops and restaurants
