My room was clean and very lovely.
The whole hotel is awesome, I visited during winter and unfortunately I wasn't able to use the courtyard because it was cold, and it was a pity because it was incredibly pretty.
The staff was very kind, they invited me in the main building a couples of time to drink some chai.
Ali the owner is a nice person, he doesn't speak english well but we were able to communicate and share our experiences.
It was indeed an amazing stay and if I were to visit again I would come back here.

Wasn't worth it
The room was reasonably clean but poorly featured. There was a very small window high in the wall, there was no kettle now was there complimentary tea or coffee. The room was small for the furniture it contained and the mattress I used was worn. The bathroom facilities were extremely small and no toiletries were provided. It was very expensive for the area and compared poorly with the hotel I used later. There was intrusive noise from the street. I have no way of telling but it seemed to me that this hotel may be struggling with cash flow because I have noticed it seems to be often fully booked.

Good but basic
The staff at Taskiran were amazing. Super kind and helpful. Unfortunately our room was small and not in great repair. The buildings are historic and quite beautiful, so hopefully they will improve the bathrooms, decoration etc over time.

Şimdi size taşkıran konağı ve işletmecilerin gerçek yüzünü anlatacağım. Urfa gezim için eşim ve 3 aylık çocuğum için çok bilinen bir siteden 1 oda kahvaltı dahil rezervasyon yaptım. Akşam otele gittiğimde bizi aynı sokakta resimlerden tamamen farklı bir binaya götürdüler ve aldığımız fiyata kahvaltı dahil olmadığını, kahvaltı için ekstra ücret vermemiz gerektiği söylendi. Açıp sitedeki güncel fiyatı, Tüm rezervasyon bilgilerimi göstermeme rağmen akşamın geç saatinde işinize gelmiyorsa kalmayın gibisinden tavır sergilendi. Hatta yenge ve çocuk olmasa tavrımız böyle olmazdı gibisinden de tehtid vari bir tutun sergilediler. Saatlerce tartışıp artık o saatte 3 aylık çocuğumla dışarda da kalamayacağım için ekstra kahvaltı ücreti vermeyi kabul ettim. Bu kez de sitedeki rezervasyonu iptal edeceğiz tüm ödemeyi elden biz alacağız diye tutturdular. Tüm tartışmaları geçtikten sonra odamıza yerleştik. Odalar aşırı derecede tuvalet kokuyor. Klozet çalışmıyordu. Tavan komple küf kaplıydı. Fön makinesi de çalışmıyordu. Ve arızalı olduğunu söylediğimizde sanki biz bilerek bozmuşuz gibi imalarda bulundular. Urfaya bidaha gidersem buranın 1km yakınından bile geçmeyeceğim. Gitmeyin çok pişman olursunuz

Got there late and was parked on a couch for more than 30 min without getting a room. After asking a few times for it was told that I had to pay even though I already did online. The dude wouldn't even let me check my balance to see if I had my money back and kept pushing that I had to pay. He then showed me a page in Turkish, which I don't understand that was supposed to tell me their balance was 0 so they should have given back the money. In the meanwhile he had a horrible voice from the translator of his phone telling me I had to pay.

The breakfast was included in the price, but in the morning they wanted more money to give me some.

The dude then made me a "special offer" to go and see an archaeological site with him which turned out to be more expensive even than a normal taxi.

O wouldn't recommend the place.

Based on the comments, we decided to stay here as a family, we kept our expectations high, I guess there is a WC and a bathroom in the room, but since it was open, the WC and bathroom were hard because the bed was on pallet boards. Even though there was air conditioning, it was cold at night, there was no TV in the room, we did not have the chance to take a bath. It was much below my expectations, both hot and cold. The staff were very helpful.

We just checked out of this very special hotel and we miss it already. We fell in love with Sumera and the beautiful family who manage this lovely hotel. The 400 year old building located deep in the alleys of the old city is beautiful. We loved hearing the call to prayers from two nearby mosques. We loved visiting the baker around the corner who we found out the last day supplies our breakfast bread. We loved our room and how cool it stays. We never needed the AC. But mostly we loved the people.

Amazing local place to stay and one of the best experiences we had in Turkey. Friendly hosts, they are available all day and night and are lovely to hang out with during a Tavla and Nargile session. Everything was very clean, the breakfast was excellent and the location is simply superb. Thanks for the experience!

Affordable rooms, very tasty breakfast and located in a good position relative to the main attractions. Particularly Mehmed was a very kind and friendly member of staff who made us feel very welcomed, comfortable and relaxed. When I come back to Şanlıurfa I will not even consider looking for somewhere else to stay
