Design Hotel Skopeli in Odessa

After reading positive reviews on Google, Buckingham and other sites about "Sapeli", with anticipation of a good beach holiday booked it for a week.

Arriving at the place and seeing with your own eyes the realities were (very to put it mildly) surprised. Point by point:

=> check-in: upon arrival it was discovered that Parking at the hotel is NOT!!! More precisely, there is a place about 3 small car (guess whether they are in season).
On the question about the availability of Parking spaces was followed by the sacred response of the receptionist: look around, wherever free, you can Park there))
Let me explain: everywhere is 50 m radius from the property you can potentially stick to the concrete parapet in 2-3 places. These places, as the hotel itself is located in an active pedestrian area, respectively, not everyone who passes by will be pleased to having your car there, think about insurance)
And most interesting: how micro-location and the rest of the "Park, wherever free", not only unguarded, but also paid (!), 100 UAH per day.
On the hotel website stated that Parking is and it is paid, but that unguarded, costs 100 UAH, and the de facto at her with an interference fit can fit 3 cars, tactfully silent.

=> room: apparently, the owners their understanding of the definition of "design hotel". Very uncomfortable: cheap whitewash the walls, as in the old hut, the cheapest materials of furniture, the wood dust on the floor and the bathroom lots of hair from previous guests, the cheapest toiletries, bottles of complimentary water, no, like, 20 mosquitoes and other gnats.
Opening the curtains, saw the beach (by the way, which, despite the 22:00 time, was very, very, much drinking and merry tourists), but the most interesting in this kind is back two local aborigines, who sat and smoked less than 1 meter from balcony. Want such classifications - you just here))
By the way, at this stage took a strong decision that for more than 1 night in this place will not stay. If you book another hotel, I moved to the next day.
By the way, the beach is a different story: the density of people, like at the beach of Yalta in the old days. Fortunately, the hotel has its own sunbeds where relatively comfortable, but walk 30 meters to the water's edge is literally on the heads. Dirt, no boxes, a million cigarette butts and caps from beer bottles - tough!
Soundproofing rooms, by the way, not just bad - it is NOT! Love to hear the conversations of neighbors, the sound of the cleaning at 6 am, talk at the reception, all steps in the corridor - then feel free to book))

=> for Breakfast: it's a p@#Dec! The neighborhood is adjacent to the hotel Handel, which serves Breakfast for the guests "Sapeli" called "Veranda". Love to have Breakfast with food of dubious quality, sitting in scorching heat - welcome! 80% of the territory of the institution is open air, where, in turn, 4-5 tables in the shade. The soft part of the seat was not erased just 2 years, dirt, dust. We did not dare to sit, even in beachwear. I decided to go inside - the heat, the air conditioning almost not working, smells of food being prepared in the kitchen. No, thank you)
The waiter had glasses and chill. It seems that cannabis in the morning helps to be awake all day)) the quality of the food to describe has no desire - but, believe me, we made sure after 40 minutes of waiting (and this is for Breakfast!), it corresponds to all that is around.

For the first time, leave a review about the hotel, but believe me, he is not worth your frustrated expectations of quality rest and even a minimum of comfort for 1960 in the day. For +/- commensurate with the budget in Odessa there are many other decent options, and even in high season!

About this I had the impression during the stay in Siem reap building .
Let's start with the worst - the total lack of soundproofing . It was so bad that at 11 o'clock in the morning heard a very loud sound from a nearby restaurant , and they absolutely do not care whether you sleep or not . Voices in the lobby and the room are heard due to echo and again the root cause is the sound insulation . And I arrived with my grandmother , who was not accustomed to such noise .
Even more ingenious solution was to make rooms with balconies on the first floor with translucent curtains . For their own safety was also of concern , as no protection except again at the entrance to the hotel is de facto not observed .
The Parking fee is 20 UAH/hour , consists of site meter for two and three Parking spaces , so the car will have to be put very far away .
Of course , there must be some pros ?
The first line to the beach 20 meters , such as sun beds included are , but the territory itself is very well maintained , the price of the hotel included Breakfast , and even 10% discount , but do not hurry to rejoice : if you come from the train to the hotel , settled and want a tasty lunch , it will cost you at least a thousand hryvnia ( but okay , the Jewish capital of Ukraine , it is not even that )
To the nearest normal supermarket somewhere about two kilometers or three to walk well for a very long time , so we can conclude : it is better to take a hotel on the second or third line , which although is more expensive , but in the end will cost less because of the above factors . Good luck to everyone , I wish not natykaetsya at terrible hotels .

It's disgusting. It supposed to be a design hotel. If you're state you're design hotel, it doesn't mean you are. The hotel is located at the Lanzheron beach, the worst part of it, right next to a public toilet, some ugly-looking couple-of-decades-old Soviet-style bar and a thing looking like a swamp with old boats and small machinery. Territory around the hotel is not clean - the owners seem not to care a lot about it: beer bottles, plastic bags and dirty sunbeds apparently belonging to the hotel. The room is a separate thing to mention - we couldn't believe what we saw and couldn't stay there for more than 15 minutes. The shower appeared to us as if the hotel existed for 20 years, not less than a year as it really was. Curtains were dirty and burnt in some parts - signs of smoking near them. The wardrobe hadn't had a sign of being cleaned before our check-in, we found other people's socks there and a plastic bag. Culminating part of the review is the bed. It's sick for a hotel to leave these things in use. The service at the reception was caddish as they didn't want to give our money back at first, but after seeing the room, they managed to do so. I honestly do not know what this hotel exists for and who would want to stay there even for a night.

Great location but service sucks big time. Staff both in the restaurant and lobby are unwilling to solve problems acting like strangers to visitors. Specifically, we had three cases of very poor service (below).

First, its breakfast offers are inflexible and staff didn't really want to help until we asked administrator to help (& he did help). Thus, breakfast consists of two plates: main and additional. As we don't eat meat we asked the main to be changed for veggies or any other additional plate. The waitress just proposed us not to take the main plate. That was absolutely not constructive as breakfast is paid and we expect it. Thanks to administrator, we could finally change the main plate, but the waitress after that behaved rudely as if we offended her (but we didn't).

Second, the beach is surprisingly very dirty. Besides cigarettes, we found broken glass there. And the guy who is supposed to help and give umbrellas to guests is never seen around. In fact, once I found him sleeping in his "room". As a result, service on the beach is very poor.

Finally, I had to change my booking dates after I paid a deposit. This was not a whim, as I've caught chicken pox. Deposit was paid in high season and new reservation made in low one. We expected that receptionist would use deposit to cover lower cost of accommodation in low season, but the receptionist refused, saying that we had to pay for one night using the rate of high season. That was not nice at all!

In the end, two good things about Skopeli (location and food) were completely spoilt bu very poor service.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone looking for good service.
