Never slept better! Made to feel very at home. The owner was lovely and welcoming. Good breakfast, lovely rooms, no complaints

A test of a character is how you respond when times are bad, not when times are good. And unfortunately, our stay here proved that the hosts responded badly when guests were in a difficult situation.
When we first arrived, Vivienne was a great host with knowledge of Scotland and Edinburgh. She has a book with brilliant recommendations that we based our trip upon! Great recommendations for cafes, day trips and places to visit. The room (6) was pretty cramped but it felt nice.
However, on day 2 of our stay we headed for the coastal route towards St. Andrews. Our GPS multifunctioned, phones went flat and we reached back at 12am by a stroke of luck. We were under the impression that we had a car lot but unfortunately, one car was very badly parked which blocked out our space. We found ourselves stranded without a car.
No guide was given to us on where we could park although the instructions emailed to us said there were free parking lots nearby. Our phones were dead and we couldn't do a search online. My girlfriend ran up to look for instructions in the guide but couldn't find any. Exhausting all options, she had to call Vivienne for help. To her shock, Vivienne shouted at her and asked us to figure it out ourselves. We eventually slotted our car in forcefully. It was so tight I had to climb out the boot.
The next day, we felt so unwelcome that we just gave the breakfast a miss.
To sum up, we were screamed at and felt unwelcome in small room we paid 80 pounds a night for.
I run my own service company and I know we never treat our customers this way. So I would definitely not recommend this place to any of my friends. This was the worst experience I had in UK after being here more than 10 times.
My advice to all future visitors - check for parking options on day 1 first thing when you arrive.

FAB FAB FAB. Best place ever. Viv, thank you. Amazing, brilliant & so friendly. I have stayed in many places but this place & Viv are at the top of my list. Wonderful breakfast,walking distance to the center, wonderful facilities & FREE parking. Yes that's correct FREE parking oh and dont forget the wifi.
We booked in for 5 nights but I loved it so much i didn't want to leave! So we booked another night. We will be back. Viv. I think you need to advertise your property with a WARNING notice. You come but you won't want to leave. Lol. Thanks again see you next year x

Sherwood guest house is the perfect place to stay when visiting Edinburgh! It’s super close to the city centre with good public transport connections. The guesthouse is super lovely and the rooms are perfect for a city trip. Everything is clean and thoughtfully furnished. The highlight is the owner/hostess Vivienne. Super nice, accommodating and knowledgeable about Edinburgh!

Great place to stay…way nicer than we expected. Host was also amazing and gave us great tips for getting around and things to do nearby. I would stay here again in a second…wouldn’t even look elsewhere.

The host Vivian was amazing! So friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and comfortable breakfast was yummy with a good variety.. would definitely recommend !

Very, very friendly hostess - Vivianne! Great breakfast, everything you could ask for (except for hot food). Great fruit, bread, eggs, sweet rolls, juices yoghurt, et.c. Very personal and informative. Rooms are a little small (not uncommon). Very clean. The only negative is the location even though the bus runs just outside and comes often. (A little bit too far to walk if you wanna walk back and forth one/twice a day). But again, easy with the bus. I would definitely go back, thank you Vivs!!! ＜3

My order was over an hour late, wrong and cold. They have your number and email address but fail to keep you up to date. Their number rings out so we had already arranged other food by the time they delivered. My official complaint to Pizza Hut was met with a stock response and I was unable to take it further via the link in their email. I believe they do offer a £10 voucher for late orders but apparently not to me.

Always makes me sad to leave a poor review - but after many orders for work events, I have to conclude that the staff are just incompetent or don't care whatsoever. We've never had an order a.) be delivered on time or b.) contain what we ordered via the online portal. How hard can it be guys?

JUST AVOID!!!!
I placed an order for a pizza and a Ben & Jerry's ice-cream (4.99£) yesterday afternoon (27.8.17). After an hour and a half a very rude driver delivered a cold pizza and a melted ice-cream. Before this delivery he phoned me three times to ask about my address, as obviously he had a wrong one, and then he demanded from me to walk where he had parked - half a mile from my flat- to get the pizza!! After my refusal, he finally arrived with the melted to milk ice-cream and the cold pizza! I returned the ice-cream back (far too hungry to return the pizza), calling at the same time to the store explaining the situation. The man on the phone apologized and offered to send me a new Ben & Jerry's ice-cream. After 28 hours and 4 phone calls later, I am still waiting for this bloody ice-cream! Staff on the phone was really rude, the driver was rude, they claimed no proof of my delivery/orders/phone calls etc. as they are totally unorganized! It is just your word against theirs!!! AND THEN THEY LIE ABOUT SENDING IT TO ME!!!! DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN!!

Appalling service, delivery person was so rude, saying cannot wait even for 2 min for me to get to the gate from my apartment. The managers support this behaviour and have no decency to apologise. I will never ever go there!

The waitress was really sweet. I recommend the express lunch menu, where you can get their authentic Italian food at a great price. I had the ham and mushroom risotto, which was pretty good. There’s a variety of pizzas, pastas, etc. to try. They also have a good minestrone soup.

Booked in at last minute and accommodated well. Meal was delicious but when it came to paying, I wanted to pay this at the till as I wanted no fuss at the table from my family. The Head of restaurant/owner was very rude to waitress then to me insisting I go back to my table. Granted it was a busy night but no excuse for treating a paying customer this way. Felt like I was a naughty child when all I wanted to do is pay the bill. I am a woman of a certain age and did not appreciate being treated like this. I did write to them but 1 week on I have had no apology. 2 WEEKS ON AND STILL NO RESPONSE TO MY LETTER. HOW RUDE.

Terrible experience! Nothing in this place tells about Argentina except for the menu! Food really poor, place empty and price way too expensive, considering the quality! Really wonder how they can have this positive overall rating...!?!?!

A great treat too celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary. Our favourite steak house, travelled from North Berwick. The steak is stunning , worth every penny. Friendly and efficient service. please open a restaurant in North Berwick !

The worse experience ever. I can't expect the same quality as in my country but I felt offended by this place using the Argentinean name. We paid 23 pounds for an stake that I couldn't get even in the worse restaurant down there. The stake wasn't bad but I wouldn't paid more than 10£ for it. Empanadas were not even fresh, everything seemed to be frozen food. I should have expected something like that before we got in, from outside it looks terrible and inside it was empty, the music seemed to be from Cuba.
