Great location, two minutes from Waverley train station. Stayed for one night on July 1st. Room 622 was spotless. Asking for more tea bags was no problem. The receptionists were very efficient, polite, and helpful. Breakfast was good. It arrived in a bag, but no big deal. There was enough in the bag to eat. It was so good that we stayed an extra night in room 716. It was also spotless. Lovely room too. The beds were very comfortable. Wonderful manager. Took the time to chat, listening to the opinions of the room. The location was great, minutes from Princes Street and the tour buses. Overall, a great hotel to stay at. I will definitely be back. It is rmb300 cheaper at the minute after I paid. And the room has no sun light, not as the post mentioned. The room also very small, don’t looks like 24square.

Better than expected! It's conveniently located, and the hotel is very clean. The best part is that it has a real extra bed, not a sofa bed. Very nice.

The room was very clean, and the location couldn't be better. It's practically right next to Market Street Station – just a short walk to the left after you exit. The back door leads directly to the Royal Mile, and the front door, after crossing the station, takes you straight to Princes Street. All the classic sights are within walking distance.
The only minor complaint is that there's ongoing renovation work on the building behind, and we were assigned a second-floor room facing that side. There was a possibility of being woken up by noise every morning.
Next time I stay, I'll definitely request a high-floor room with a view of the hill.

Hotel has easy access from Royal Mile. Staff was polite. Rooms were clean. Overall a good experience.

Such an unpleasant experience staying at this hotel. The front desk staff, Pavels, was unprofessional and displayed ****** behavior — treating our group (Chinese) very differently from other guests.
We booked two Superior King rooms with 1.8m beds, but one was significantly smaller (around 1.3–1.5m) and even had a bent toilet seat. This is unacceptable for the category we booked.
The only positives were the polite room service staff and the fresh apples in the lobby.

Excellent location, excellent service.
Initially, my room was located behind construction area but the staffs are nice enough to change it for me. With its location just behind the royal mile, you can visit the tourism sites within walking distance. Art festival is ongoing now, super crowded with amazing views and people. Breakfast was amazing, bed and pillows were comfy, hygienic as well. I would definitely stay here again!

Loved this place. The portions were decent, the place felt entirely unpretentious and the prices reflected the quality of the food. The wine list was superb. Highly recommended!

Outstanding food, service and wine list. We were seated at the front and enjoyed views of Calton Hill. A spectacular offering if you love French food. Definitely going back for more.

So much to see and do. Fantastic programme. Good shop. Simple, hearty cafe with good coffee run by separate local charity. Lots of space for young kids to roam and toys for them to play with. A haven for parents and carers in the heart of the old town.

A lovely addition to our family Christmas tradition, beautiful storytelling for adults and children.

We just popped in here to get out of the rain and to see what this unique building was. We didn't participate in any of the pay activities (tour and story telling) but we bought a book or two from the gift shop and used their rest rooms. They also have a cafè here. Super friendly staff.
