One word: Ashley! We had a wonderful night thanks to Ashley. Instead of ordering drinks from the menu, we asked her for recommendations and asked her to create a masterpiece with a specific flavor and aroma, which she did. The first creation reminded me of Mexico, and the second reminded me of Christmas! I thank her for her skill and knowledge of how to combine flavors, which contributed to the magical cocktail she created. She is an outstanding person with excellent communication skills, giving clients work for their money. Thank you, Ashley, for making a wonderful evening unforgettable. We will be back again, just for you!

We stopped in on a whim, planning to grab a drink to escape the rain. Thanks to Ashley's excellent service and excellent banter, we were there for hours. She truly knows her stuff and recommended a great wine. I asked for something fruity after the wine, and she delivered a thirst-quenching raspberry cocktail. A few hours later, we finished the night with some excellent whiskey, again in Ashley's capable hands. I'll definitely be back and bringing friends!

Room was clean and warm. Chose no room service as was only there for two nights. Breakfast was excellent, Kara behind the bar, knowledgeable, courteous and friendly, as were all the staff we met to be fair. Go there each year, I’ll be back again next year.

When we came to check in, there was no one at the desk for a long time and there were three other people waiting before us for service. The cleaning procedure was a surprise, I didn't know it cost extra just to have the room primped up. towels was not the issue, I don't require clean towels every day. But the one day we did request cleaning, we didn't get clean towels. this was nearly five days into our stay and we were going to be out overnight for a tour to the highlands.

A popular pub for students and staff of the University of Edinburgh. Good drinks and food selection. Part of the Taylor Walker / Greene King franchise, so you might recognise certain dishes. Good quality though.

Fast friendly service from the male bartender with dark curly hair. He made our experience special as he let us try different beers so that we could decide which we would enjoy best and also provided us with some friendly banter. 5 stars! ☺ ?

Cold restaurant, cold food, chaotic service. Very, very mediocre food compared to other Japanese restaurants in Edinburgh, including the chains. Ramen was sparse of ingredients (I counted only 4) and menu was very limited. Won’t be going back as there are far better options in town.

After 3 visits, editing my previous review.

The first time we visited, the food was delicious, came quickly and was reasonably priced.

The last two times we've been, the yakitori grill has been broken, and a 4th time I phoned ahead to check if it was working, to have the woman in the kitchen tell me she didn't know what yakitori was.

The food is decent, but I've had better Japanese food in Edinburgh elsewhere. On my second and third visit, I finally saw what other reviewers have experienced with the long waits, it was an hour from when we sat down until our starters arrived. We had ordered gyoza, and karaage.

For all of the reasons above, have edited my review to be 3 stars; "It's OK"

Not the worst Japanese I have ever had and in context to being in Edinburgh, pretty good effort. We had lunch so it was empty other than us so service was fine. Food overall was authentic and fine.

About to find out if their card facilities work as we don't have any cash on us.

Food here was lovely and comes in quite large portions. The prices are reasonable and the staff were very friendly and to top it all off, they have a 20% student discount. Perfect for the financially restricted students.
