Everything was really good, friendly prices, the best atmosphere, the owners are really kind peple, we spent a brilliant time there, the music evening was so interesting and comforting, i recommend everyone to choose this hotel

Mr. Alan is quite a showman, he's not only playing guitar and singing very well, but also plays he's own video clips and shares interesting facts about Scotland and Edinburgh. The stay is in historic house. Some of the equipment hasn't been renovated for a long time. You can hear others through closed doors. But that's the charm. I enjoyed that type of building, the dining room was especially nice. Breakfast are included which is nice addition. For us it was enough (toasts with cheese or jam). Distance from old town was relatively short, there are two buses routes going through the street anyway. In overall, I was satisfied with my stay, it was good price for what we got.

The location is a 15 to 20 min walk to the castle. Breakfast is sit down continental and is nice. The owner does a music and history talk at night which was enjoyable. The building has history that he talks about.

We drove to Edinburgh which made it a problem for parking and Averon Guest House had a free secure parking. Yet it was near enough to walk to Edinburgh Castle or Grass market for dinner. We welcomed by a Polish guy in kilt. Very friendly and very helpful. Recommended all the nice places that we should go and made sure our requests are met, like hairdriers, printing etc. Free wifi, great breakfast and a quirky bathroom that had a tilted floor. My only complaint - no writing desk in our room but room was spacious. And yes, i was a bit disappointed because didnt get to hear the owner sing - he had a bad throat. Nevertheless, would definitely recommend this place.

it was very clean, comfortable beds and quiet. I really enjoyed the evening gathering offered by the owner. He played instruments and sang as well as told stories about Scotland.

There was a homeless man inside this place abusing solvents (some sort of flammable gas) while me and my mates were trying to eat. The food was okay but it's awful that they didn't do anything about the homeless man

Salad items aren't as good as other Subways and the meal deal costs more than others as well for some reason.

Nice pub, can be quite crowded at times, especially with students on Quiz nights. Beer selection is good and the pricing is decent enough. Last time the upstairs seemed to be closed even though downstairs was packed.

Always a great crowd, a decent variety of beers. and a good old-fashioned pub menu. Love watching football on the big screen!
