Lovely comfortable hotel.
Our bed and the room was large and well fitted out.
Bottle water expensive at £4.
Looked after us extremely well as both disabled.
Nothing was too much trouble.
Cooked Breakfast selection first class.
Perfect Poached eggs.
Continental looked fresh and enticing.
Will return.

This is an old-established hotel, excellent location and friendly staff. However, it does show signs of age. There was a very strong smell and mildew / damp in the hallway by the lifts on our bedroom floor, which wasn't good. The room and facilities were perfectly ok, but everything could do with a refresh.

Hotel room was fantastic. Huge bed shower and bath. Lovely clean and warm.
Breakfast really good. Full scottish breakfast was welcome to set you up for yhe day.
Tried the restaurant on one evening. Standard menu but cooked well. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Haggis bon bons a tasty treat.
The only thing that stopped me giving 5 across the board was that we didn't get daily refills on the coffee, tea milk and in particular drinking water.
Breakfast really good. Full scottish breakfast was welcome to set you up for yhe day.

NEVER COME BACK AGAIN!
We paid a remarkable amount to be on a superior room to be quiet and enjoy our stay. In spite of this we have been covered with music coming from the restaurante of the hotel during every single moment, till 2 am, and starting before 7 am. We tried to complain and we also speak with the manager who told us this is not gonna happen again, and they will make a compensation for the noise; but there were no compensation nor cutting of the music. Finally we had to put some play in the phone to get some sleep.
I would never recommend this place.

This was a very good value for the location, parking, breakfast, dog friendliness.
It's very hard to find hotels with private parking in the centre of the city. It can be a bit full depending on the season, but we always found a space the days we stayed.
The location is great, you just walk to the places around the castle.
Very good breakfast, including cooked to order in addition to the buffet.
The rooms vary a bit in refurbishment, they are decent though and the service good too.
The price is more than reasonable for what I got.

Had a lovely stay here. Comfy bed, tasty breakfasts and helpful staff. On the 23 bus route which took us all over the city and to the Botanical Gardens. Walked home over the Meadows and Bruntsfield Links a few times from the city centre. Hotel located in nice area. Will be back.

Very good position for the City amenities, staff were helpful and professional with a good size bedroom which was extremely clean and comfortable.

Nice place, friendly staff. Some parts maybe a little too cosy. We were at a wedding reception and it was hard to get past tables or to the toilets as tables were squished in.

A lovely hotel, just a short walk from the city centre. Our room was amazing, including a stunning footed bath! All staff were pleasant & helpful, and the breakfast was fabulous - a fantastic continental selection, including gluten & sugar free options, followed by delicious smoked salmon & scrambled eggs or full Scottish breakfast...delicious!

Have eaten here many times and have been impressed. Today, however, was different. Plate of soup was small, lukewarm and had no bread to accompany it. My partner’s linguine with squid had only two pieces of fish on the plate. We were with friends and didn’t want to ruin the meal by complaining. With so many other eateries nearby Bisque will have to up its game or suffer.

Poor experience. Couldn't get anyone's attention to be seated when we walked in, order taken but then after an hour it still hasn't turned up. One of our table had to leave for another appointment and hadn't been fed! Manager came over but didn't actually apologize, just spoke about the rugby that day and told us to come back when it's less busy next time (!). Only reason for the second star is the food was good, but that might just be because we were starving. There are much nicer places in the area, go somewhere else!

Service is always prompt and courteous.
Despite the new items on the menu I was feeling a little tired and just fancied a steak. The ribeye was nice and pink if a little too fatty for the price. The tobacco onions (whatever they are) tasted alright but looked rather a mess on the plate.
The older Canadian tourist at the table next to mine ventured that the fish and chips are "very good".
Service is always prompt and courteous.

Our experience was terrible. we booked for boxing day festive menu 1st or 2nd Oct 16. we had an email to confirm our booking as we were on holiday in Edinburgh for 5 days. we found our way to the place and went in early to have a drink. then when we were seated the menu that came out was not the festive menu that was advertised when i booked. i explained this to the person who was to take our order and he said the festive menu was now over. Really a bit poor that nobody had the decency to send an email or phone call, so we had our drinks and left. we emailed the establishment about our experience and nobody had the decency to reply. i think the 1 star that was given was too much as i could not leave feedback without it.

Extremely rude staff. When I complained about being short changed, rather than an apology the girl took the money out the tip box and then told all other customers about my complaint. When my food was ready she shouted 'she can get it herself'. Dreadful service and tables were filthy.

Staff were very rude the place wasn't that busy and there were 3 staff .Tables were left uncleared asked for a napkin to be told I am busy serving .not the best reply.Manager wasn't available I don't know if Costa do mystery shops on there establishments but I think it's something they should introduce as the service here came nowhere near to some of the other Costas Have visited even a stranger at the next table was commenting on the place being such a mess it was so bad we got our money back. And that has never happened before to me wasn't expecting anything but it doesn't take away from the rude and disorganised Staff .
