This place was amazing! The staff was so nice and friendly. They told us some of the history and the famous people who stayed there. Marilyn Monroe, Clark Gable, Mae West, and so many more. They even have a floor dedicated to the air force and so many different aircrafts.
I can't wait to go back and rent one of the celebrity suites. The hotel was so we'll preserved and maintained, it's like stepping back in history.

The worst place to stay.
The photos did not match the room we were given. The room had a terrible odor, making it impossible to stay there comfortably.
On top of that, they never returned my security deposit without giving any explanation.

I called several times to ask about it, and every time I received terrible customer service I would never recommend this place to anyone.
Don't book here, even if it's a last-minute option. We ended up having to find another hotel at 12:00 a.m. during our road trip because we checked in and left almost immediately.

Absolutely terrible service.

Our stay at the San Carlos Hotel was a unique and enjoyable experience. It is a historic hotel, so it's important to keep that in mind when booking. While it isn't a luxury hotel by today's standards, you can definitely appreciate the elegance and charm it once had.

The lobby was beautiful, and we loved seeing the historical artifacts and displays throughout the hotel. The rooms and bathrooms were a bit small, but that wasn't a major issue for us.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. Of course, everyone's experience may be different, but we loved the friendly staff and the convenient location. There was a coffee shop nearby, and the Phoenix Convention Center was within easy walking distance. I have ongoing foot problems, and even for me, the walk was very manageable.

One thing I would recommend is bringing a small fan if you're visiting during the warmer months. The air conditioning worked fine, but it wasn't the strongest, and an extra fan helped make the room more comfortable.

Overall, we had a great stay and would consider staying here again.

Check your beds before you unpack, folks.

The downside:
Found bed bug droppings and a dead bed bug on one of my beds. Fortunately I hadn’t unpacked. Thank goodness. I checked out immediately and was given a refund, thankfully.

There is no onsite parking. The recommended parking garage on the same block as the hotel is dirty and seems to be a favorite hangout for homeless addict drug people.

On the upside:
The location is great, if you’re on a high enough floor to not hear the noise at the restaurants on the street. Very convenient to the convention center, stadium, and business district nearby.

Hotel is just next to a couple stops for the local Phoenix above ground streetcar which gives access to much of the city. (I don’t recall the name of it.)

Very quaint historic hotel, which has a lot of charm.

The lady at the front desk was very kind.

I was skeptical of this hotel at first. For the price, I expected a run down place but was pleasantly surprised. Parking is less than desired, but we found a parking garage around the corner so not too bad. The hotel was super clean. It could use some upgrades but they have maintained the historic charm. Every employee we spoke to are all amazing. Just super nice people who are happy to accommodate or guide you. Location is great and everything is close. We parked and used waymo or pedicab to go places. This has been such a fun trip and we owe a big part of it to staying here.

The room is small but cozy. The location is excellent. It is in the city center and close to basketball games. There are many restaurants downstairs.

We had a great experience in our one night stay here at the San Carlos Historic Hotel! Very quaint and cute for a decent price.
Unfortunately our only downfall was when I called back to question a 10$ “surcharge” fee, Tony the Manager rudely hung up on us. He was very unprofessional as he proceeded to ask me sarcastic questions instead of simply explaining to me what this extra fee is for. It is understandable that a cleaning fee or a resort fee may apply, but just a simple clarification for what a “surcharge” is, would have sufficed.
I had a super helpful woman check us in, but the surcharge fee was never mentioned when I made my reservation over the phone, and when I checked out.

Great location for a classic property. One of the few left in downtown Phoenix. I'm the middle of the action with A Mexican restaurant and an Irish Pub both downstairs. Rooms are quaint but showers and toilet are low pressure old fashioned. Bed is comfortable for an old style mattress.

You can't beat the location to the conference center and the downtown restaurants. Also the staff was super helpful and kind my entire stay. The only issue I had was with the room and the facilities. It's very much dated, I felt like I was staying in a Grandparents home, like a Boomer's parents home, which didn't feel like a hotel. My room did have an iron and a coffee maker but no stopper for the bathtub. The pool was under construction at the time of my visit. The wifi also went in and out and was not dependable, which seems like an easy fix and an annoying inconvenience. Overall I wouldn't stay there again unless every hotel within walking distance of the conference center was booked. However it was five minutes to the conference center which was really great after a long day.

Great food and fast service. I work in the 40 N Central Tower, and when I do not bring lunch I eat here. Try the egg salad, very good!

The staff and owner are very nice but it is very expensive for something that is normally warmed up, I just paid $3.53 for a bacon and egg muffin and it was smaller than the ones u can buy at McDonalds and it was all smashed(super small), not fresh. This was a reminder why I stopped going there, never again.

When a server THROWS a tortilla to your table from 5ft away because she didnt wanted to take a few steps to just put on your table? REALLY bad manner, really bad customer service. Server name RAMONA, guess she has no good manners and not sufficient customer service training. WORST EXPERIENCE AT THIS CHIPOTLES.

It was my first time at this location and I stopped in at dinnertime. The staff was ridiculously courteous. We were debating what meat to choose cuz some were running kinda low and they were quick to notice and they gave us some fresh off the grill. We only had to wait 2 min (if that) and we totally didn't mind but they apologized profusely for the wait and even gave is a couple comps to make up for keeping us waiting. I was completely impressed. Besides the food was by far the best i'd ever had at a Chipotle and I've been to a bunch of locations around the US. Highly recommend this location. I will be back there soon! Thanks guys!

I got a steak burrito, food is great as always. I did have one kinda gristly piece of meat, but that's not bad. But the staff was friendly and helpful. We even got into a debate about video games. Despite someone liking Halo 3 for best ever they were a good group of guys. 5 / 7 would eat again.

Great place in a tough location. The homeless are merciless in every Cityscape business. This is a place you can can eat in peace. They do a fantastic job in terms of service for the customer....I've never been to a better Chipotle - this is the best, the management truly cares for the customer in a very tough location.
