Negs:
1. the locked door to the waiting area so you had to go to a closed window to speak with said Happy Lady—it screamed “Go away! We are just teasing you with our Happy Lady”
2. My room was 204. Stairs only although they ARE curved which certainly should get an extra star just for that. But I fell out of the cab of my box truck and my knee was on fire with every step up such lovely curved stairs. (I refuse to explain the truck-fall further)
3. The soda machine was broken and I had to walk across the L.A. street and down a block just to get my Doc Pep. (Took an Uber to get here)
4. The room: well…hmmm…let’s see. On the bright side, it appeared to be freshly painted with new laminate flooring and 2 crisp white double beds.
The downers (they were legion) were:No lamps-just recessed white lighting in a gray painted room. Sterile, cold, and not very welcoming. Then there was no art, no pictures in the walls, no coffee maker. no telephone, no clock, no rug, no sofa or comfy chair. But the absolute most distressing thing was that there was not enough a plastic or paper cup to get a drink of water.
???????
I’m just not sure what kind of establishment they are running here, but it very closely resembles how I would imagine a psyche unit to look.
My advise to the Happy Lady and friends is this: warmth. The place needs genuine warmth. Or at least a paper cup to drink out of.
I give this Lyfe Inn & Suites in Los Angeles 2 stars—but with potential..
They cancelled on me and my partner 3 days before we were supposed to check in.
We are from overseas and had this hotel booked for 10 months. 10 months, and they waited until 3 days before we arrive to surprise cancel on us. A terrible business model.
They offered us a low price, then cancel so people will pay a higher price. I do not recommend booking with this company if you wish for peace of mind on your holiday.
I do not understand how this is a legal practice. It’s so dishonest.
It was extremely loud and it was very clear that there’s a great deal of prostitution that happens at this place.
I’m actually going to be contacting the Attorney General of California to see about getting them shut down. Do not even consider staying here.
POIs near hotel
Cafe and Restaurants near hotel
- same employee very rude at taking my order and not giving me options
-same employee (older female with a burgundy shirt) who seemed to be the manager was rudely treating other employees yelling out tor things she needed to be made (mashed potatoes, etc) and treated another lady very poorly...maybe they short in personnel and don't care to hire other people since other reviews state that they've seen them be short in employees.
- No coffee even though they open in the morning
- ordered a chicken burrito which contained 5% chicken 5% tortilla 90% beans and rice
etc...
Long story short, it took 5-7 minutes and 3-4 employees to figure out how to ring this up. All while a line was forming and they did not open another register even though there were plenty of workers. These employees need to be better trained and more professional. All of them are young but not an excuse.
