We spent a couple of nights at The Maxwell Inn while we explored Rocky Mountain National Park. The hotel was cozy and the room was extremely clean. The location was great, just a few moments beyond the busy downtown of Estes Park and perfectly placed for exploring the Park and surroundings. The only downsides were that the bathroom was extremely small and the breakfast was very basic and limited. Highly recommended!

We truly enjoyed our stay at The Maxwell Inn. Beautiful Inn; just what I wanted in visiting Estes Park and the mountains. Great location, Great Hosts, couldn't have been more perfect. Clean, comfy, beautiful decor, good breakfast and coffee. Dana and Peter were very helpful in answering questions and giving us ideas on what to see. We felt like Family before we left. Definitely want to make it back out to stay there again! Would recommend to anyone. Also, really enjoyed seeing the Elk visit us in the morning and evening...at least 3 days out of the 4 we were there! Very quiet area, and beautiful views!

The Good: This Inn looks like a chalet on the outside and has Craftsman architecture accents inside and out. The shower works well and there is plenty of counter space by the sink. There is a continental breakfast. The receptionist when we checked in was very personable and made a good recommendation for dinner. It is a short walk to down town. The Disapointing: I found out a bear had been in the yard the night before by overhearing a conversation. As I inquired she suggested we move any food into the room. If I hadn’t overheard the conversation we would have left the food in the car. The mattress is extremely uncomfortable. Their supposedly “simple” to use thermostat is not simple. I was furious when the receptionist inferred I was simple for not figuring it out. Cold air comes in through the fireplace which must play havoc with the simple thermostat. The stone chosen for the sink appears to be wet all the time and the shower pressure is poor. The lite continental breakfast was all prepackaged food, not even any fruit. No decaf coffee but good selection of herbal and regular tea. Finally, they made a big deal out of printing out a receipt, a simple thing to do.

Great location. Close to town. Close to the park. The shuttle into town is right outside the Inn. The breakfast is simple and fast. Coffee, fruit, muffins, juice, yogurt. Relaxing room to sit and eat while most mornings elk wonder outside. The place is super clean. We were there for a week and everyday the room and bathroom were spotless. The grounds are clean as well. Book early. Most days they were full.

This was our first visit to RMNP. Selected Maxwell Inn due to its location and being a small, family run place. Glad we did! Stayed 10 days. The rooms are small but very high quality with tasteful Arts & Crafts décor. The breakfast selection is exactly as shown in online pictures plus ten kinds of Bigelow teas that you could not see in the pictures. Walked from the Inn into town and to the Estes Park Visitor Center – sidewalk all the way. Elk were in the front yard on numerous occasions. Definitely recommend!

The inn is conveniently located just at the edge of town. Walking distance to several Main Street stores. Stanley hotel is also very close. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. Towels were very soft. Love the vintage pink bathroom tile!! Continental breakfast was just enough to start the day.

What a great find! Maxwell Inn is perfectly located close to the charming downtown of Estes Park, as well as the RM National Park. Our room was perfect and had everything we needed. Dana was so helpful in providing suggestions and information about the Park. The dining area for the light continental breakfast was immaculate and was wiped down after each guest left. And the elk sure like to visit here!
