La Belle Esplanade

Incredible stay at La Belle Esplanade. It's easy to see why this is #1 on TripAdvisor. Matthew and Melanie are the most hospitable hosts. They give you a whole introduction to the house and New Orleans and are there for questions and itinerary suggestions every morning at breakfast. We are recommending this place to all of our friends.

This is by far the best place to stay if you are visiting New Orleans!! Easy walking distance to the French Quarter, but far enough to let you enjoy authentic NOLA and neighborhood haunts. Beautiful accommodations and amazing hosts who will give you better advice on where to go than any travel book. Can't recommend highly enough.

Absolutely a wonderful place to stay! Charming and unique, the hosts go out of their way to make you feel like a local and a friend.

While I didn't get to stay there, I was nearby and love the way this place looked. Location is great too. Next time I'm in town I'll be looking to stay here.

The moment we arrived, we were greeted with the warmest of welcomes from the hosts, Matthew and Melanie (we ABSOLUTELY love them), who made us feel right at home. Their quirky and fun personalities really set this place apart and was a major highlight of our trip.

The building itself was adorable, with a cozy and inviting atmosphere that truly felt like a New Orleans home. Matthew and Melanie went above and beyond in providing us with insider tips on the best local restaurants and how to find the most exciting parades in the city. Thanks to their guidance, we were able to make the most of our short time in New Orleans and create unforgettable memories.

Our first stay in New Orleans and we were convinced that it is THE place to stay. Not only do you get to stay in a beautiful and well cared for room but the wealth of knowledge and warmth shared by Mr. King and Melanie was invaluable. The intimacy of locally sourced morning breakfast accompanied by welcome conversation about what to do is a service in itself. Thank you for what you do. Oh, did I mention how comfortable the beds are?

La Belle was my first bed and breakfast experience, so the bar has now been set very high. We enjoyed the location, as it was close to the city but far enough out to escape the more crowded areas. The surrounding neighborhood is very unique and fun to explore. The locally curated breakfasts each morning were fantastic as well. Matthew and Melanie made us feel at home and the breakfast-side conversations each morning helped us to understand and enjoy the city. If you’re looking for a unique and memorable visit, I would absolutely recommend La Belle.

Matthew and Melanie were superb hosts. From the very beginning, they made us feel incredibly welcome. This was our first trip to New Orleans, and for once, I did not plan a single thing for our vacation. We relied solely on Matthew and Melanie's suggestions, and we are so glad we did! We got to see many different little neighborhoods and local spots and experienced far more fulfilling adventures than those offered solely on Bourbon Street. Where do I even begin? From the warm welcome and beautiful breakfast to the breathtaking charm of the home - I could not imagine how any other hotel in New Orleans could top this place. Absolutely wonderful place to stay. Great location halfway between the French Quarter and City Park. Nice neighborhood with quick access to transportation to go anywhere you want via bus or uber. Matthew and his Wife are a super classy couple with great suggestions on nice places to visit in the city for whatever interests you during your stay.
