Description

Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino is a large 4-star property located at 3950 Las Vegas Blvd S, offering a wide range of room types including Resort Quadruple, Double, Strip View, and their combinations. The resort features amenities such as a heated pool, private beach area, casino, fitness centre, massage services, and multiple dining options including a restaurant and bar. With a cleanliness rating of 9/10 and service rated 9/10, guests generally appreciate the attentive staff and well-maintained rooms, many with floor-to-ceiling windows and modern furnishings. The hotel’s integration with the Marriott Bonvoy program allows priority check-in and benefits at restaurants. Its spacious rooms and family-friendly facilities, including a lazy river and wave pool, make it a popular choice for visitors with children. However, some guests note issues with room cleanliness and lack of complimentary in-room amenities like coffee and toiletries. The resort combines tropical-themed comfort with an active casino atmosphere, suitable for both leisure and business travelers.

Location

Situated at the southern end of the Las Vegas Strip, Mandalay Bay is about 3950 Las Vegas Blvd S. It is a bit farther from the central Strip action, but the hotel offers a free tram connecting to nearby hotels like Excalibur and Luxor, making it easier to access other attractions. Nearby dining options within a few hundred meters include Bayside Buffet (34 m), Panda Express (311 m), and Subway (317 m). The location is praised for its quieter atmosphere compared to mid-Strip hotels, although some guests find the Uber pickup zone inconveniently far from the lobby and elevators. The resort’s private beach area and pools provide a more relaxed environment away from the busiest parts of Las Vegas Blvd.

Tips

  • Book a room with a strip view for better scenery and more space.
  • Use the Marriott Bonvoy membership to access priority check-in and restaurant benefits.
  • Consider the location when planning transportation as the hotel is farther down the Strip and Uber pick-up points are a walk from the lobby.

Although we stayed at the W Hotel, we spent time enjoying the pool at Mandalay Bay. It was quite crowded over the weekend, but for my 5th-grade son, the lazy river and wave pool were an absolute highlight. He had an amazing time, and it turned out to be a very memorable experience for him. Highly recommended for families, especially with kids!

Cleanliness - molds in the shower.  French fries under the console table from previous visitors.  We never brought food in the room during our stay.

Amenities - no free coffee. No bathroom amenities like toothpaste, toothbrush, slippers or cottons etc

I was greeted by several people who helped me from the parking, to the entrance and the waiting for my room.   The service was great and I always had the support.

Mandalay Bay Resort is good for family with kids. With the bit swimming pool and a nice connecting hotels to get to the *****, hersheys and m&m factory will make children enjoy the walk. Mandalay has it own foodcourt and trams that connect to other hotel.

If you are looking for a resort that balances the high-energy excitement of Las Vegas with a slightly more relaxed, upscale atmosphere, Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino remains a top-tier choice. Located at the southern tip of the Strip, it offers a sense of space and tropical luxury that is often missing from the more crowded mid-Strip properties.
Cleanliness and Comfort
From the moment we entered our room, we were impressed by the standards of maintenance. The rooms are notably clean and well-appointed, featuring modern furnishings and a bright, airy aesthetic that complements the resort’s beach theme. The floor-to-ceiling windows provided a stunning view, and the linens felt fresh and high-quality, making for a very comfortable home base between excursions.
The Marriott Bonvoy Advantage
One of the highlights of our stay was the seamless integration with the Marriott Bonvoy rewards program. Because of this partnership, we were able to utilize the priority check-in line. Anyone who has visited Vegas during a peak weekend knows that the standard check-in lines can be daunting; bypassing the wait felt like a true VIP perk and allowed us to start our vacation significantly faster.
Connectivity and Location
While Mandalay Bay is a bit further down the Boulevard, the resort makes it incredibly easy to explore. The free tram to Excalibur was a lifesaver—it’s quick, runs frequently, and drops you right at a central hub where you can easily walk to New York-New York or Luxor. It essentially erases the "distance" factor, giving you the best of both worlds: a quiet, clean room and easy access to the heart of the action.
Whether you're there for the legendary wave pool or a convention, Mandalay Bay delivers a polished experience that feels both professional and fun.

Service was good - they placed us on a higher floor.
The bathroom is big and spacious.

The lobby is nice
We tried the cafe and Japanese restaurant on the ground floor

The only thing is the uber zone is quite far from the hotel lobby and lifts.

We actually stayed at the W Hotel next door, which was much quieter than the Mandalay. The only downside was that the air conditioning only had a cool setting, no heat, and the air smelled a bit odd when walking through the ******. Next time, I'll stick to a regular hotel.

I’m giving this hotel a 2. It is very beautiful on the outside and I think in warmer months you get more bang for your buck. The reason for the two is for several reasons, first of all a serious lack of NORMAL AMMENITIES. No microwave. And there is a fridge but spoiler alert, it’s a 30$ fee to use it !!!!! I cannot believe that a hotel of that caliber doesn’t give you a free coffee in the room. That is wild. Even holiday inn gives you coffee. They charge SIXTEEN dollars for a cup of coffee you make in the room that is pre made with the instant coffee in the cup. The rooms were decent but could definitely have been more clean around the bathroom floor areas. They knew we were traveling for our honeymoon and all they offered us was a 75$ food credit which was very kind! That being said upon checkout they said that 75$ would be applied and I had to call a few days later because they “forgot” about it. Also , while we were there. The housekeeping came at the absolute worst times. 9am, 10am, it’s VEGAS !!! they didn’t come back one day when we said we were sleeping so they skipped a day of cleaning as well. I just think they need to provide more of a top notch service here and also give you a free cup of crappy coffee with your stay. I would definitely reccommend going elsewhere especially because this hotel is generally located far away from most of the strip.

The Skyfall Lounge was definitely worth checking out at night.

Best thing here was the service. Very fast and friendly service. Food was alright, nothing to complain about. But I think there are better options for the same price.

I normally depend on Google reviews but, the service was outstanding and the brunch met my expectations. This place is underrated at least with regard to brunch. YMMV but if you're in the MGM area brunch here.

I really enjoyed the buffet. I come here everytime I am in Vegas and although the chairs and tables are now tired, the food is very good and well presented.
Barbara, who looked after us, was very helpful, polite & attentive.

Great spot for breakfast at a very reasonable $18.99/adult. Creating my own omelette was my best choice. Filled it with many ingredients. Looked like a feast to feed a whole family. But hey, I was very hungry and I did eat it all.

There’s a wide variety of food to choose from too. From salads, fish, sausages, pastas, meats, etc etc

The service is great too. From the people up front to the food preparers to the bus boys. Everyone has a great attitude and that makes for a great experience!

My family started our day with high hopes for our first family vacation but was quickly thrown off when the cashier at the buffet after seeing our military ID (for the military discount) charged our card with no discount. After noticing it & asking for it to be credited & being told they would they then charged the card AGAIN (we didn’t even swipe the card a second time so their system apparently has the capability of charging you without swiping so BEWARE that your card may be on file). Coming to vacation as a family is more expensive than ever so our trip was meticulously planned which included our funds and let’s just say two unauthorized charges were not in the plan. Now at this point our breakfast is completely ruined as the Assistant Manager Michael Greene refused to apologize, empathize, or even take ownership for what they did wrong. Instead he continuously talked over and interrupted my mother as she spoke. He even REFUSED to give the general managers name! If this is how the Mandalay Bay treats the military families of America then they truly need to rethink their customer service model & morals. P.s. the 1 Star is for our nice & kind server Pam. She was the only pleasant experience of the morning.

Horrible place. Bums and homeless losers out front. English is a 2nd language here as it difficult to communicate with staff. And you have to practically beg for soy sauce and hot mustard here.

To the owner.... Clean up your store!!!

Disappointed twice. We love Panda Express and have tried various locations in Las Vegas and Phoenix, AZ area. On Jun 24th, 2017 after 9 p.m., we had 4 meals with chow mein, and the chow mein was burnt. As a result, the burnt taste was throughout our food. Tried again on Sept 22, 2017 at 5:50 p.m. and the entire meal was very dry and flavorless, to include the chow mein. We will not return to this location on our future trips to Las Vegas.
