Holiday Inn Express Blowing Rock South by IHG in Blowing Rock

Really cosy, short walk into the restaurants. Would definitely stay again

Compared to a recent hotel this place was spectacular. But this motel felt really clean. So thankful for a nice car stay.

Only issue we had was the air conditioner is at the.head of the bed and blows directly on you which is extremely uncomfortable for the person sleeping in the bed next to the air conditioner.

Overall, our stay at this hotel was enjoyable, earning its solid 4 out of 5 rating. The bed was excellent—comfortable and well-appointed, ensuring a restful night. However, cleanliness could be improved, as the entryway and bathroom tiles felt slightly sticky, and when we wiped up a spill, the rag picked up noticeable dirt.
The breakfast, often praised in reviews, was certainly above average compared to typical hotel offerings, but we found the selection of healthy options to be quite limited.
One area for improvement, which is common across many U.S. hotels, is sound isolation. Noise from the hallway was easily heard inside the room, and vice versa, which occasionally disrupted the otherwise peaceful atmosphere.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the hotel delivers a quality experience and is well worth considering for a stay.

First the staff were very accommodating and friendly. All the front desk clerks were terrific. I had more interaction with Kyle whose on day shift and from day 1 he was super helpful in finding my way around not only the hotel but locally. Also to note the driveways going to this hotel are dangerously steep and come up on you fast. And the parking lot needs work. Anywhere you go you have to first go uphill! You can walk to Outback after 4 for supper. Other than that ya gotta drive. Breakfasts were decent. And I loved how the breakfast bar was tucked away behind barn doors. Great stay for me!

As an ex hotel worker, I would advise chairs for the front desk. Standing on concrete for 8 hours a day does not promote long time employees and medically challenged feet and back issues as we age.
