The hotel’s dining, including the buffet restaurant and the speakeasy bar, was noted as a highlight with excellent food and good service. Rooms were described as spacious, clean, and comfortable with well-maintained bedding and modern conveniences like refrigerators and microwaves. The location was repeatedly mentioned as excellent for walking to many downtown attractions and sporting events. Some guests experienced slow service with luggage delivery and valet parking communication during busy times. A few reviews mentioned outdated room features, including bathrooms, heating and air conditioning systems, and occasional maintenance issues like malfunctioning fridges or TVs. We liked the historic, comfortable hotel. The location was great, with many things we wanted to see within walking distance. The staff was professional and courteous. The hotel amenities were terrific.

Went there for my anniversary and everything was wonderful. The room was clean. We received a free upgrade for our anniversary. Anytime I’m back in Pittsburgh. I’ll be staying here. The speakeasy bar was phenomenal and if you’re feeling an extra bougie definitely check out the Lamont about 10 minutes on the road

First class 100%! The staff, the restaurants, coffee shops, bagel shop, you really don’t need to leave the hotel at all. Shawn one of the managers found us self touring, then took us to the grand ballroom. Wow! Simply beautiful! Will definitely go back, so central to the city for anything you want to do or see. Fantastic!!

The Omni William Penn Hotel is a true Pittsburgh classic—elegant, historic, and beautifully maintained. From the moment you step into the large, grand lobby, you’re surrounded by charm and sophistication that instantly sets the tone for the entire stay. During Christmas time especially, the lobby is breathtaking, warmly decorated and filled with a festive glow that enhances the hotel’s timeless elegance and makes it feel truly magical.

Service throughout the stay was exceptional. Every staff member was professional, attentive, and genuinely warm, making us feel appreciated rather than just accommodated. As a valued returning guest, the extra consideration truly stood out: a thoughtful room upgrade and a lovely welcome gift that included two complimentary coffee mugs, along with milk and cookies. It was a small but meaningful gesture that made the stay feel personal and special.

The room itself was spotless, quiet, and well-appointed, blending classic charm with modern comfort. Housekeeping was meticulous, and cleanliness throughout the hotel was consistently impressive. Dining was another highlight—both the quality of the food and the attentive service exceeded expectations, making meals feel like part of the experience rather than just a convenience.

Overall, the Omni William Penn Hotel delivers outstanding value for an upscale, historic property. Its combination of gracious service, elegant atmosphere, excellent dining, and thoughtful guest recognition makes it a standout choice in downtown Pittsburgh. It’s the kind of hotel that not only honors its past but also knows how to take care of its guests—and keeps you looking forward to coming back.

Enjoyed our stay at Omni for 2 nights. We took our son to Pittsburgh to go to Steelers game for his birthday. Our first night at 12:04 am the room next to us started getting loud and got into an argument. We tried contacting the lobby but no one answered the phone. Security had to come up and say something to the couple. It woke us up and we had a hard time getting back to sleep. The only other problem with our stay was when we checked in it took over an hour for them to bring our luggage up and when we tried to call for our car in valet no one ever answered the phone so we had to go down stairs to request car. The elevators were a little tricky getting the key to access to go up to our room. I had my phone plugged in to an outlet and it sparked and ruined my phone charger. Last year we stayed at Sheraton in Pittsburgh and I preferred the Omni over it. Our room was spacious where we had plenty of room for an air mattress. We walked to Eddie Merlots for dinner and stopped by Target to get a new phone charger. In spite of a few problems we ran into we would recommend staying there.

Great and friendly check in experience. The hotel is quiet for sleeping and is in a great location in the city

It was an experience. Excellent service, gorgeous atmosphere, & rooms were very clean. Our bathroom smelled like a dirty porta john and the TV kept glitching. Staying on the 14th floor, we could still hear ALL of the sounds from the streets below. Sounded like a drag racing strip all night, then police sirens, and loud vehicles too.
The brunch buffet was AMAZING!!

The Omni William Penn is a wonderful hotel. From the minute you walk up to the door to 5he minute you check out everything was above board. The staff was extremely friendly and professional attending to your needs. The room was spacious and comfortable. The beds were like sleeping on a cloud. You need your room key/card to operate 5he elevators which gave a level of protection because only hotel guests and staff can go up to the rooms. The ballroom was exquisite with amazing chandeliers and decorated to the hilt for the wedding. Absolutely loved the place.

Very difficult to find especially if not from the area. Saw it was on Trip Advisor’s top restaurants...don’t waste your time. The waiter seemed rushed and more occupied with a larger party. Cocktails were so strong, they couldn’t even be enjoyed. The food was the only thing not horrible but it was nothing to rave about. Finally, on the way out the wait staff was on their phone at the host stand and did not acknowledge us leaving.

This is a real gem. Excellent food and service. Not a chain restaurant, wine list phenomenal.
26.10.2017 Dave
Despite the difficulty of actually finding the restaurant, the experience was very good. They have a well selected list of wines and the chef's selections were excellent.

I went here this past weekend with my girlfriend for restaurant week and it was very good. The amount that you get for the price during restaurant week was well worth it. We didn't know this but they have a parking garage below them and they validate your parking ticket. So, make sure you park at their garage for free parking!
We arrived early for our reservation and were still seated immediately. Additionally, the atmosphere was very calm and perfect for dinner for 2. The restaurant is upscale but casual so we didn't feel out of place with what we wore (she wore a summer dress and I had khakis and a v neck on).
This restaurant would have gotten 5 stars, however, my two concerns were the waiter was not very attentive to when drinks/water needed to be refilled (cups were refilled once right before he brought us our check). Also, our appetizer (crab bisque) and a part of our entree (lobster ravioli) were barely warm - on the verge of being cold - like it was reheated not long enough or sitting on the pass for too long. Other than that, an overall good experience. Would dine again.

The atmosphere and server Bobby were a delight! The food was delicious and prepared to its fullest flavor. I highly recommend this restaurant for any type of occasion, it serves all. Keep up the excellent job !

Holy no vegan options. The wait staff tried to be accommodating but failed miserably. No parking. Over priced.

We, a family of 4 including an infant and a toddler, came on for the very generous Veterans Day special. Our server, Erin, was highly experienced with young children and made sure our children were well taken care of. Our infant has been consistently good at restaurants previously but this visit was an exception and he had a bit of meltdown. The manager, most likely due to inexperience with children, asked if he could help us leave and initially gave us the impression that we needed to leave, which frustrated and angered both of us since my wife was in the process of taking him home. Afterwards however he realized his mistake and apologized profusely. This is where our server really showed her skills and made sure were well taken care of and she apologized profusely for the experience as well. Ultimately she made sure that not only was our dinner on the house, but a bottle of champagne, dessert, and all of our drinks as well. The food was excellent all around. I cannot say enough good things about Erin and the way she handled the situation. She is a true professional and an asset to the restaurant and we will be requesting her by name next time we dine there. Thank you McCormick and Schmick's, and thank you Erin, for your support not only of military families but families in general!

Always a fantastic visit here. Clean facility, wonderful servers, very elegant furniture and decor.

The food was wonderful. However it took 1 1/2 hours AFTER we ordered it to get our food and slow on cocktails too! We felt ignored.

Overall experience was average. We waited almost an hour for food, and service could have been more friendly. I asked a question regarding a menu item and was answered in a condescending manner. The bright side to the meal was that the food was very good.

Stayed at doubletree for Pittsburgh vs Ravens game. Just needed a little bit of something to sober up a bit after the game, we were jammed in a corner table and ordered a chicken salad wrap. However we were served a turkey wrap... it literally had one slice of slimy gross turkey, a leaf of lettuce and maybe two cherry tomatoes... everything tastes good when your tipsy and this was literally the worst wrap I’ve ever had....
