Reviews
The check-in process was quick and easy. I liked the security of using a passcode for the elevator as well as room entry. Everything was neat, clean, and beautiful.
The building itself, the (paid but secure) parking, and the location to popular areas in the vicinity were phenomenal. I shared how much I loved my room and the amenities with my wife, and how I wished other hotels and suites were the same quality and design.
Unfortunately, what soured my entire experience was the noise.
The windows didn't block much of the constant noise from cars driving down the street (many of which were blasting their music?!?!) and the train...ohhhh, the train. What an unfortunate thing to have beside your building. I was originally placed in a room facing the tracks and once I heard the train come through, I immediately went to the frontdesk asking for another room, and she was super understanding and helpful. (Thank you, Soraya! - sorry if I misspelled your name!) She moved me to the other side of the building and upgraded me to a suite with a balcony. On the nightstands to each side of the bed are earplugs...when you are given complimentary earplugs beside your bed, it makes you ask what you got yourself into...
In addition to dealing with the environmental noise, my 2nd night was even worse, and this is on their management (not the staff).
At around 2:30AM, I woke to very loud music coming through my wall and the hallway. I called frontdesk and they found out music started playing in the lobby as well as the 3rd floorr balcony and they didn't know how to stop it. Ruth at the frontdesk offered another room for me to sleep in (i.e. I didn't have to leave my room; I could just sleep in another room which was away from the noise) however, I was unable to fall asleep again and didn't want to go through the inconvenience of leaving all my stuff in one room and sleeping in another. I had an important meeting that day which thankfully went well, but I was definitely not rested and felt tired all day.
My third night I slept well, simply because I was so tired. No earplugs, bass-bangin' cars, or elephants running through the halls could wake me.
At checkout, I requested the friendly frontdesk person to see if I could get a comp/refund for my 2nd night's stay, and he told me he wasn't given the access to do that but that he'd leave a note on my account. I do hope that management is agreeable to comping at least my 2nd night due to the massive major inconvenience.
Sadly, I don't see myself booking again at this location, and I would not recommend this location to anyone who is a light sleeper, simply due to the exterior noise which cannot be helped without signifant changes. If, however, you sleep like a log and can sleep through a hurricane, then I think you should give this locaton a shot!
The building design, rooms, amenities, and staff are so wonderful.
The parking is not made for midsize vehicles or larger. Noooo. Parking should be explained for clearer expectations.
We stayed during the time it snowed and the room was cold. It took 24 hours to warm up to our desired temperature. The advertised pictures were beautiful aesthetically pleasing yet did not deliver same results when we opened the door to our space. Someone before us left food in the refrigerator. Which left me confused that proper cleaning didn’t take place.
We didn’t have a dust pan as listed for clean up. There were minor scratches and dirt scuffs on the walls, clean up paint job needed and repairs (bathroom fixture parts on the sink and dishwasher handle) are needed. Curtains were stained and the bedside upholstery was soiled.
We were supposed to have a balcony city view and didn’t.
Table setting was incomplete too. I made it work of course.
Nothing was open downstairs as advertised. I really had hope to try them out. It was part of the reason I booked.
It's modern-dysfunctional. For example there are no shower doors and so your concrete floor is soaking wet after a shower, no matter how careful you are. The concrete floors throughout are freezing cold at night. They have an elaborately long code to be able to enter the building, to go up the elevator and to get into your room.
Wanna watch TV? Good luck. They don't have local TV or cable and as a result we couldn't watch any football games on Sunday.
$20 a night to park but the parking lot lifts were not working.
$25 to have a late check in only gets you an hour. 1 hour.
At $130 a night for a hard queen size bed you'd be better off staying at a Motel.
Oh, did I mention that there isn't any type of breakfast of coffee shop nearby? Well, now I did.
