Cafe and Restaurants near hotel
1) Waiting in line for more than 30 minutes.
2) Crammed seating with strangers breathing down your neck.
3) Minimum order of 2 items per person, with no prior notice when you buy the tickets. An obnoxious waitress called the manager when we refused to order drinks. The manager came to us in the middle of the show trying to enforce this policy. We ended up leaving in the middle of the show, out of principle.
4) Really cheap humour.
I don't really know where to begin, so here's the nutshell:
Seating was horrendous, uncomfortable, and poorly situated; food was mediocre at best; comedians were raunchy and tasteless ( unless jokes about gay porn are up your alley (no pun intended)); oh, and don't even think about trying to leave early - finding a waiter and having them bring your bill takes almost as long as the show itself.
Also, they charge for water ( no respectable place charges for water, IMO). However, there is a workaround for this. Simply leave the comedy lounge, go up to the main bar, order a glass of water, and walk back into the comedy lounge. I did this probably four or five times, effectively saving me and my friends $20-30.
The bar area itself and pool area are half decent for hanging out, but the Comedy lounge is pathetic at best.
So, like I said, never again.
I recently started work in the area and I am trying different places each day. P.F. Chang's sucked!
I go in early (11:15 am) to beat the lunch rush and sit at the bar. The place is fairly empty with a few people at tables in the main area and 2-3 people in the bar. There are 2 waiters at the end of the bar. It takes them a few minutes to realize I am there since they are heads down on their cell phones.
Menu was already on the table and since the waiters were busy looking at their cell phones and took a while to come to me I had plenty of time to look for what I wanted. One waiter comes back and asks me if he can get me "started" with something to drink. I say water and I know what I want to eat. I simply order chicken pad Thai.
The waiter was polite and seemed to care about getting my order placed into the system. Nope! He went right back to the other guy at the end of the bar and started looking at his cell phone again. I think (not sure) they were talking about their work schedule and such??
He eventually went behind the bar and then had to look over at me and the computer screen a couple times in what I can only assume was to refresh his memory as to what I had ordered.
I had a simple order. It took forever to get it. During my wait I could hear some crazy sounds coming from the kitchen area that I can only assume was the filming of the next Jackie Chan movie!?! - No joke. It sounded like a Bruce Lee movie in the making. The employees up front were trying not to laugh out loud but you could clearly see they were holding it back.
I have no issue with having a little fun at work... but why did it take so long to make a simple dish?
I get my chicken pad Thai and my 1st visual impression was: This is a big plate of food. :)
My 2nd visual impression was: "I didn't know it came with a salad on top"
My 1st taste impression was a big piece of chicken... It had the consistency of soft rubber and tasted like FISH! :(
Water: I ran out and the waiter was too busy chopping fruit to notice. I tried to politely make eye contact but he was heads down on the fruit chopping.
My post is getting long so to finish it as short as possible: The flavor was bland and thankfully the waiter brought me hot mustard to drown it with. The TOFU was too much. I ordered CHICKEN and barely got any chicken but got tons of TOFU. The greens were way too much as well.
NO REAL FLAVOR TO FOOD & BAD SERVICE & MANY OTHER FOOD OPTIONS NEARBY = I won't be coming back here.
Excellent service, great food and amazing cocktails.
There's something for everyone( veg/non veg). Very reasonable price.
We love this place, visit about 4 times a year.
If you know what to order, the food here can be great.
The servers are very helpful, asks for recommendation.
We have tried the following
Hokkien Street Noodles
Singapore Black Pepper Chicken
Dynamite Shrimp
