Where to stay in Cat Ba Island

Thu Ha Hotel is centrally located with a beautiful sea view. We booked here for 2 nights and stayed for another 2 nights. The staff were very friendly and the Lan Ha Bay tour was great. Especially the fish massage. We had a great experience in Cat Ba.

Hot shower not very good. Room is good and sea view beautiful. Price fair.

Great stay, laundry available at the hotel, areanged Lang Ha Bay cruise for a great price compared to klook. Definitely recommended. The guy at the reception was great and helpful. Only side of improvement is no daily cleaning, perhaps you need to ask for it.

The hotel itself has a great location, and the front desk staff were fluent and friendly. However, the hygiene was worrying; there were small ants everywhere in the room. But from my observation, it seems that most hotels on the island have this problem, just to varying degrees. The hotel was tiny. The reception staff were lovely. I later moved to another hotel, but the receptionists were still enthusiastic about letting me leave my luggage while I went for lunch.

Great hotel! The owner is an exceptionally friendly person. He is the genuinely nicest person we have met on our entire trip to Vietnam. He even advised us to leave the island because of the incoming typhoon when we wanted to extend for another night. The rooms are clean and new. There is really nothing we can complain about

We had a spacious room for the four of us which was generally clean. Close to the town center we could easily reach all kinds of restaurants. We had lovely pancakes fruit and tea for breakfast. The staff was super lovely and helpful, when one friend tripped down the stairs we were even helped and driven to our bus pick up point. So we had a really lovely stay.

The hotel is located at the very top, but for those who find it difficult to climb, a taxi is no problem. Newer and quiet at night. Exactly what my partner and I were after, clean and tidy, accurate to what was advertised and the owners were lovely people. The view of the adjacent lush mountain was such a nice surprise, waking up to the sounds birds and wildlife set the mood for the day and kept us present in the moment.

We had a brilliant two night stay here. Located a bit out of the town centre but still easily accessible. Very nice, eco-friendly rooms, with a very nice rooftop bar and pool area. Staff are very friendly and can not do enough to help you out. Plus the two dogs, Frank and Milo are here too !

One of the best experience of Vietnam peoples caring guests. They treated us like a family. Even in Tet Hoildays they cook food for us. Great view from the top of the mountain cottages. January is winter season, hotel provides us Hot blankets. It's a home away home feelings.

Very comfortable room in a great location close to nature and a short distance from the bustle of Cat Ba town. Only stayed for one night, but would have been happy to stay longer, great little place with a fantastic pool. View from the pool is amazing, shame about the building work going on nearby but can't be helped! Food and hospitality really good.

Really lovely hotel. Stayed in a triple room with a sea view. Location is right on the main road and opposite an atm. The rooms were in really good condition and really clean. The breakfast was also good - you could choose what you wanted from a simple menu. Would recommend it!!

Very nice staff. Very good price for how clean and comfy it is. Would stay here again. The husband organises ha long boat tours, which are great and he speaks good english. The brother rents scooters, ours was in perfect conditions. Very big recommendation.

Nice budget hotel with a good sea view. Pretty much has everything - frig, hot water, shower, TV, a electric fan as well as air conditioner, and a old fashioned dial safe. What is lacking are kleenex and a hot water pot. However you cannot best the price.

Ba and his family made us feel very welcome. We had a great stay here and Ba explained a lot about how to go to places and we even too his boat tour around Lan Ha and Ha Long Bay. Totally recommended! Good price!

The price is right, the rooms are spacious and the views are great on a clear day. The breakfasts are OK but it's possible to economize by getting just the room, and if it's foggy, you can get a room without a harbor view for less. Five Stars for Captain Jack next door at Catba Discoverey Travel and the Lan Ha / Ha Long bay tour with kayaking and excellent lunch.

I had stayed in this hotel for two nights, it is centrally located. The rooms are clean and complete value for money. The cherry on the top is Chung who’s ever smiling and helpful nature makes your stay even more pleasant.

Incredible value for a spacious private room ($7 per night). Pretty basic accommodation, but we didn't spend a lot of time there. They rent motorbikes, and we booked the boat tour through them, which was a great time. One morning we didn't have hot water. Located next to a karaoke place, which had loud singing late at night. Me and my gf haven’t stayed here but we spent nights chilling at the coffee shop on the street. Staff can speak english and is very friendly, smoothies are the best and we also rented a bike from them and got information on where to go to visit nice places.
