Edele Hotel in Nha Trang

This was our fifth hotel in our Vietnam trip. On the first night, we were wondering how to return it and move to another one. The rate turned out to be non-refundable, and we even considered simply throwing away our money and booking another one. To put it mildly, the hotel is rundown, with the pool area and the pool itself in terrible condition.

The staff's attitude reflects the hotel's core clientele: 80 percent are Russian speakers (including Kazakhstanis) who arrived on charter flights as part of a package. For them, getting drunk and celebrating in the scorching sun, shouting and smoking cigarettes all over the pool area is the norm. For this reason, we only used the pool twice in six days, as it was impossible to stay there.

This hotel was the only one where we were given two towels, and we had to sign a form. Sometimes you go to the beach and there are no towels. If you want to take the white towels from your room, you'll have to pay a fee for washing them. And so on.
The room is a total wreck, nothing in it is intact, everything shows signs of damage (the table is cracked, the lamp is broken, the fan in the bathroom is cracking), but the worst thing is that when the floors above use the sewer system, it travels through your pipes with such a noise that the first two nights, our whole family woke up. Even with the bathroom door closed.

Even in hotels before THIS, we could always get extra water if needed. But here, we asked earlier, instead of bottles for the room, to take with us on a tour in the morning, and they refused.

The staff treats us the same way, they do it, but with a straight face.

You want your room clean? Stand there and supervise. Three people come, take away the trash, throw away the towels and brushes. And that's it. They made us mop the floors in front of us, because they don't wash them at all. They don't check the paper towels or wipe the table. You need it, or you have to go downstairs yourself.

The neighbor in the room across the hall was drinking heavily and would come in at 5 a.m. with a mountain of sand, covering the entire hallway. People smoke in the hallway, the doors to the room are loose, and the room is filled with smoke.

We had a family room, but it was very small; my daughter bumped into the bed several times because of the narrow passage. The windows don't open. There are no curtains, just roller blinds.

And at checkout, they made us wait until they checked the room after checkout, apparently wanting to make sure we didn't steal anything. We've never been checked like this at any other hotel. We handed over our keys and left.

Overall, the end of our trip was marred by our stay at this hotel. It's the worst we've ever experienced. I definitely don't recommend it.
As for the food, it's tailored to Russians and very consistent—it didn't change at all during our stay. However, on the last day, they put a sign in Vietnamese next to the hot dish; judging by the format, it probably said something about a fine. I've seen these in fast food restaurants. But they don't have dubbing in Russian, or even English. And that's the attitude. I can imagine if it's about a fine for not eating something—it's just a joke; if you don't understand the language, that's your problem.

So the choice is yours.
