Reviews
1. Let's start with the room: it's small (even though we chose a new room, renovated to European standards, and therefore the most expensive here), with only one closet and no dresser, the air conditioning barely works, and there's no space between the bed and the wall where you walk to the balcony—you have to walk sideways or with your shoulders hunched. The only plus about this room is the sea view, but you won't hear the sweet sound of the surf, especially in the evenings/nights (how sweet it is to fall asleep to the sound of the surf). The reason is the snack bar located on the hotel grounds—it's open sometimes until midnight, sometimes until 1 a.m., and the music is so loud you can hear it behind the closed balcony doors. You can't help but listen to the screams of drunks (since they have karaoke) accompanied by songs like "The bitter taste of your love has killed me now, leaving me powerless, and you, like a snake, have injected venom"—God, I've already memorized these songs—it's terrifying. There's no point in discussing this with reception; they're interested in people who like to drink heavily and scream loudly until late. The speaker sounds alright during the day, but at night it gets even louder, despite the fact that you're required to observe the silence rule in your room after 10:00 PM.
2. Housekeeping: I couldn't figure out why my clothes, even those I'd only worn once, smelled like some kind of sour cloth. I figured it was the humidity, but maybe not. Just today we found this "cleaning" - on the shelf where we kept our hairbrush, cotton swabs, and other toiletries, atop our things was a sour rag, which the cleaning lady had used to wipe God knows what and in which rooms. We noticed cigarettes were missing, and the things I'd kept on the chair next to my bed had been rummaged through. The ashtray hadn't been thrown out even once this week, the cups we used weren't washed, you have to go get toilet paper yourself, the sink hadn't been cleaned even once, but the floor was mopped every day, towels were changed every three days, and the bed linen was changed on the fifth day.
3. Food: Please note that this hotel offers SET MEALS ONLY - this means there's no buffet; whatever they bring is what you eat; there's no choice. They also seat several guests at the same table. We were sitting at a table with four other strangers—you couldn't move. You could ask for a separate table, but they wouldn't let you. When you entered the dining room, they made you leave your bags at reception. And no, we're not talking backpacks or suitcases, we're talking small, shoulder bags! A security guard wouldn't let you into the dining room until you gave them your bag, even to the point of causing a scene!
Our vacation was ruined by this hotel. And I wouldn't say we paid too little, so we got a decent hotel. A trip from Moscow from June 8 to June 14 cost 110,000 rubles. It wasn't exactly cheap, was it? Because when choosing hotels, we chose comfort-plus, not economy. In the end, for 110,000 rubles, we got worse than economy. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
Abkhazia is a beautiful country, Gagra is a wonderful city, with plenty to discover, from inexpensive berries and fruits at the market and excellent cuisine to excursions to the mountains, Ritsa, the Alpine meadows, the colonnade, and much more to suit every taste. Be careful when choosing a hotel.
that kitchen workers, except for the cook, do not wear caps or scarves. The food is monotonous, portions ... Well, for a preschooler, it’s possible and good. I understand that happiness is not in food, but I really don’t want to feel that “people will eat everything”. Vacation ruined. No more foot here.
