Reviews
Although the hotel isn't brand new, and the water sometimes cuts out briefly when showering at night, it has all the necessary facilities and a great location, so I'd still highly recommend it.
Swipe cards so hard to use, maybe that was my problem, took so long to figure out and still each time swipe, took me so long.
Really need to say something about cleanness, first there were still left over rubbish from the last guest.
Carpet so dirty, which is also acceptable as this property is not new anymore. But, but , but cockroachs on, above and near my bed……
Lucky I am not scared of these , otherwise people will hear screams .
Hope that helps.
Stayed for 4 nights over the Australia day long weekend in a 1 bedroom executive room. Room was spotless and very comfy although the sofa wasn't made up for us on arrival, that was attended to very quickly. The bed was super comfy and my niece said the sofa was comfy. No rubbish bags for the bins though.
We were on the 2nd floor down the pool end and couldn't hear any roadwork noise at night and not alot when we came back to the room in the afternoons.
Wasn't keen on the restaurant menu, but the room service oz breaky roll was amazing! More variety of happy hour cocktails would be great!
The only thing I can complain about is the parking. Some spots are very tight to get into and twice I had to park at city west which only took 5ish mins to walk to.
All the staff we encountered were lovely, all in all we had a fantastic stay in Canberra.
This is not a “mistake” — it is a serious failure in safety procedures and room-key management. A child being exposed to a ***** stranger is unacceptable. The hotel’s response was a complimentary breakfast, followed by a refund of a minibar Apple juice and parking at checkout, which does not come close to addressing the seriousness of the incident. A pre-requested cot also never arrived and had to be collected by my husband ourselves, highlighting further operational issues.
The location is excellent, but due to the lack of basic safety and professional handling of this incident, we will not be staying here again.
The hotel is right next to the main bus station with major Victoria/NSW routes, which made getting around super easy. The room was spacious, very clean, with comfy beds, a smart TV, and overall a really pleasant vibe. We didn’t use the pool or gym, but everything else was spot on.
It’s within walking distance of Canberra’s main shopping centre. During our stay (January 2026) there were roadworks outside, but there was absolutely no noise in the room.
Check-in was smooth even in the middle of the night, and the deposit was refunded to my debit card just 2 days after checkout — impressively fast. Would happily stay again.

Cafe and Restaurants near hotel
The cafe seemed busy but we were seated promptly, the waitress took our order not long after we arrived and the drinks came out quickly. However, we waited well over 45 minutes for our food (as did the table next to us). When we enquired as to how long it would be and were told it was 'next' which it clearly wasn't. The staff were careless and did not offer an apology at any time. When the food came there was no 'thanks for waiting' or 'sorry for the delay' - it was just placed in front of us.
When the food arrived it was absolutely appalling. First of all it was cold and extremely mean. I ordered the potato rosti which came with salmon and whipped feta. The smoked salmon was fine (hard to stuff that up) but the whipped feta was not whipped and less than a teaspoon in total. The rosti somehow managed to be dry and greasy at the same time and was inedible.
My mother ordered poached eggs with toast and tomato and was given 1/4 of a tomato and one dry piece of toast (unbuttered).
Despite leaving most of our food on our plate we were not asked at any stage how our meal was. When we went to pay a different waitress was equally unpleasant. When we realised we were charged an additional $4 for the 1/4 of tomato received and mentioned that this seemed unfair it was removed from the bill but again no apology was offered or any questions asked.
The terrible quality of the food was matched only by the appalling and utterly careless service. The cafe was reasonably busy which is astonishing to me. The table of 4 next to us seemed to have the same unpleasant experience.
If we had received so much as an apology for the delay in the food I wouldn't feel the need to write such a negative review but when you're handing over your money to service staff that couldn't care less and a kitchen that produces the worst quality food I've had in years I feel the need to say something. I imagine the service staff behave in such a manner as they've become accustomed to complaints and maybe don't want to put much effort into food they must be embarrassed to serve?
I have no idea how a business survives with such terrible food and service. I would strongly advice you not to waste your money or time on attending this restaurant. There are much nicer places in the city or nearby in Braddon or Acton.
Was addressed to with thorough distaste when consulting manager (Ian) about the evident problem.
Will not be eating here again unless the Dickson McDonalds sundae machine is broken and/or out of order.
Cya tomorrow I guess.
