Crowne Plaza Canberra, an IHG Hotel, Canberra1 / 39

Canberra, 16 Provan Street (in the centre) 🧭 Map
I recently stayed here for a business trip. While the hotel is clean and the room is big and well sized. However, the interiors and the carpark do feel a bit dated and would benefit from a refresh. The location is slightly removed from the main shopping and dining precincts—be prepared for a 10-minute walk if you’re looking for a meal outside the hotel. However, the breakfast buffet is a major...
My experience this time was extremely poor. There happened to be an event at the hotel, and there were only two staff members at the front desk, resulting in a very long check-in line. Because my car is taller than 1.9 meters, I had to park in the outdoor parking lot, and each time I needed to enter, I had to call the front desk for access. However, because the front desk was very busy, my call was...
Relatively nice place. Staff were very good and they are both well trained and know their jobs. Breakfast is worth it, quite the spread and they do have plenty of seating. Rooms okay but try and avoid getting one in the main atrium area due to noise. Parking easy and quick access to rooms.
Stayed at Crowne Plaza Canberra and overall had a decent experience. The hotel is very clean, including the room and common areas, which we appreciated. However, the hotel does feel a bit dated, particularly the bathroom — the shower and bathtub would benefit from an upgrade. The reception staff were friendly, polite, and professional, with smooth and efficient check-in and check-out. Breakfast was...

Overall, the room was good and the facilities were decent. However, the bathroom renovation was quite old-fashioned, with just a bathtub and a fixed showerhead, which isn't very convenient for guests who prefer a shower.

We like the hotel and it met our expectations. Highly recommended
A great stay in the Nation’s Capital. A place full of history and heritage. Loved the rooms, which had a very comfortable size and breakfast had a very good selection of diverse meals. Staff is friendly and always ready to help.
We like this hotel so much that we extended our stay 2 times. Very nice hotel and good breakfast. Staffs are very friendly.
Service was good at this property. Beautiful hotel. Food in this hotel was exceptionally good. However, the bathroom in the hotel room was a little old fashioned and the walk-in-shower in the bathroom had a leak in it which caused the bathroom to get flooded whenever a shower was taken.
Hyatt Hotel is located beside Lake Burley Griffin. Easy to reach by car but seems like there is not much public transport nearby. We rented a car for our trip in Canberra so accessibility wasn’t an issue for us. Hotel parking was AUD30 in their underground carpark. They recommended for us to park on the street parking. Paid parking for daytime from 8.30am. Parking overnight was free. Popular landmarks...
As the hotel is branded and priced as Park Hyatt instead of Hyatt Hotel, more is expected especially the concierge service. The design of room is a little bit strange and waste of space as it comes with a very long corridor but with only a desk there.

Large clean rooms. Very convenient location, easy walk to the airport. Friendly staff.
The room wasn’t cleaned. The house keeper might only made up the bed. Previous guests drink and hair left on the bedside table.
Vibe is a stunning building with an amazing bar and restaurant area. Walking distance to the airport.
Stayed here as a rest stop for our weekend Perisher trip. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. It’s got parking right under in the basement which was super convenient. We enjoyed our stay!
If you make a quick trip to Canberra for leisure, I recommend this hotel, which locates just 10 min walk from the terminal building.  It is super convenient to hop a R3 bus to the city center.
Fifth time staying at the Vibe Canberra & it always lives up to expectations. Reception check in very quick, food was exceptional & staff were extremely polite & courteous. Highly recommended! Three minute walk to the airport which is very handy for an early morning flight.

Returned to The Avenue a few years after being a regular. They haven't missed a beat! Room is immaculate, super comfortable beds, great pillows, great amenities and outstanding service. Add to this the great food, prompt room service and friendly staff and I'd rate The Avenue as the best in Canberra and best value.
very nice location and clean, nice spa room too!
Good location and easy to find restaurants nearby, room facilities (such as washing machine, microwave and balcony) are very well. The breakfast is delicious!
Location is great. Room size ( one bedroom) is really good. That's where it ends. We had ripped bed sheets that were sewn up, one drinking glass between two, a coffee machine but no pods, electrical cables strewn on the floor from the tv equipment, showers which leak over the outside floor due to poor shower stall fittings but worse was our previous stay when cleaners left our door open after doing...
Clean room, comfortable bed and good location near restaurants and bus terminal. It was cheaper booking through an outside booking site even when I asked the hotel for best price. Although it was nice to have terry bathrobes provided they were a small size and scratchy. The bar fridge was a lock system so unable to put our milk etc in. There was a note on fridge stating to contact hotel to remove...
Room - booked a single bedroom with spa for three nights over Easter. Room was spacious, clean and have everything you need. My young kids enjoyed the bath, although the jets were scary for my 4 year old. Service- check in and check out was fast. No invoice was offered at checkout though. I thought this was a feature of the express checkout, but no email of the folio was sent. Breakfast service...

Nice classy hotel with very clean rooms and charming breakfast restaurant.
We stayed for the Canberra Marathon Festival. The location was close to the main event area, and there is a cafe and a foodstore close by. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are comfortable. The area is quiet but there are a few restaurant's and bars along the lake about a 10-minute walk away. Uber's were always only a minute away. We had a great time seeing the sights, a lot of them are within walking...
The hotel is classic, the rooms are comfortable and parking is convenient!
Our stay at this hotel was wonderful, we had breakfasts in the morning- hubby loved it and they had option for vegan as well. Only con is smelling cigarettes while we walking to the room. There were too many smokers in the courtyard along the hallway.
Very good hotel, we’ve stayed here a few times already. Food is great and staff members are friendly. We would recommend the hotel to other people.
Old charm meets modern amenities. We loved our short stay at hotel Kurrajong. From the entrance with the fireplace and warm and helpful staff to the garden for pre dinner drinks. Also enjoyed the plaques scattered on the walls detailing the hotels history with political and royal identities. A very relaxed and easy experience.

Nice Hotel. However not the greatest location, need a car to get around.
Hotel was very clean, staff were very nice and polite and location was great.
We stayed over Christmas and it was lovely for the kids. They were welcomed with gift packs full of mini-games, not just the normal colouring papers and pencils. They also have a Christmas workshop set up way before Christmas. The room was very nicely decorated with ample of space for crafting and small table for some drinks. The only downside was that many things had been used up and not refilled...
There is no buffet breakfast, and we ordered three sets of breakfast, which are not very delicious compared with those outside the hotel. Other than that, everything is perfect, especially when we checked in the first night, the front desk staff went to the garage to teach my husband how to park the car.
I've been to Canberra twice. This is the best hotel I've stayed in. It's really nice. The staff are warm and considerate. The room is big, new and smells good. There were 4 people here this time and we had an extra bed in the living room. It's very convenient. It's only 5 minutes away from Parliament Hill in Canberra. It's in the center of the city. Very nice hotel. Specially stay with children’s and family members . My kids really enjoyed it.
I recently stayed at Rydges Canberra and, overall, found the experience to be quite average. The hotel didn’t quite live up to my expectations — while it wasn’t bad, it also wasn’t particularly memorable. The room itself was clean but pretty basic and somewhat dated, lacking the comfort or extra touches you'd hope for at this price point. One thing that stood out as a bit off-putting was the parking...
Large clean room. Friendly staff. Central location close to many of Canberra’s attractions.
Second time staying here, the indoor pool was nice, just under 20m in length and but the jacuzzi was a bit small for the number of guests staying at the hotel. The gym was nice enough also, I was able to get a decent workout using 7,8+ machines. The room was really clean and nice with fully stocked mini bar. Close from the grocery store and close enough from the Parliament House (walking distance)
Great place for an overnight sleep or longer Excellent staff very helpful and friendly. Nice indoor pool and spa and has a gym very well set out.

They configured the beds the way we wanted. We loved the indoor plants, especially my toddler. Light rail is a short walk away. Buffet breakfast was awesome!
Bathroom has mould, noise insulation isn’t good enough because the building is very old, window lock handle was broken & cannot be fully closed
good location. average hotel.clean but opd building
A beautiful relaxing setting, tastefully decorated with the indoor gardens and palm trees. The restaurant and bar are open to suit any traveler’s time schedule . The rooms are clean, fresh and very comfortable. Thanks for the great hospitality . Easy to find and secure parking. Mark and Sharon

We had a great stay at Rex hotel. Room was clean (including the bathroom), staff were also very friendly and helpful. It offers free parking as well, which was very good. It was very quiet. The location is also really good, you’re literally close to anywhere in Canberra!
There were some positives, but several aspects of my stay fell below expectations for the price. Room privacy My room was connected to another via an internal door with very limited sound insulation. Noise from the adjacent room was clearly audible, which reduced comfort and privacy. Lost key policy The $100 charge for a lost key felt high, especially as it was not communicated clearly at check-in...
Overall, our stay at the Rex Hotel Canberra was a mix of positives and some disappointing details. On arrival, the exterior of the building was not very inviting, with windows covered in cobwebs, which gave a poor first impression. That said, the staff were all excellent throughout our stay — friendly, professional, and very helpful. The room itself was great: clean, comfortable, and well maintained...
Hotel was beautiful and room was really clean and tidy. Staff were very friendly and accommodating but it’s the little things… the notes, the small complimentary toiletries, various artwork, strong water pressure, friendly banter, hairdryer in the room, displays cabinets, architecture and views from the dining areas. Family owned hotel that easily surpasses the big hotel chains.
The Canberra Rex Hotel exceeded our expectations. We held our Executive Assistant Congress in the Great Room, which was a beautiful room. The catering has had excellent feedback. The networking drinks, held in the Swan & King Bar, were terrific. Many thanks to Branka, Vincent, Caleb, and Rory (from Encore). What a great events team!

It's OK. My schedule changed and I canceled one day at the hotel, but they were willing to negotiate with me. Thank you very much! This was in a great position, with good communication and tidy facilities
Clean and comfortable, only down fall TV in bedroom had no reception and TV in living room was cutting in and out.
Room was good however the bed was small. Also, the tv barely can play a local news as the screen keeps on freezing. In addition, the bathroom floor was sticky. I was ones in room 3 and 5 and noticed the same thing, it’s as if they don’t properly clean the floor tiles. This time I was in 145 and the bathroom/toilet floor was sticky. Otherwise they have free coffee at the reception which was good.
Have stayed there 3 times in the last 3 weeks and 2 out of 3 times was upgraded to a bigger room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very affordable.
Excellent accommodation and really well run. All staff were great and the facilities were fantastic.
Although check-in time ends at 8pm and we arrived a little after 8 on a long weekend, the concierge was still there so we were able to check in smoothly. Excellent value for money, clean room and all that i could need for the 4 days stay. Friendly staff and walking distance to shops and places to eat. Had a wonderful stay and this will be my go-to place to book moving forward for my regular work trips :)
Excellent location close to all amenities however noise in room was above average due to traffic. Loud music on Saturday night tended to make the stay a little concerning. Soundproofing rooms a litte lt combat road and party noise would be great.
The room was a good size and included a small kitchen and balcony. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was okay but poorly designed in relation to toilet paper roll positioning and towel rack. Overall a good experience.
A good hotel, central in Gungahlin town. Clean. Eateries and supermarkets nearby.
Passing by this place on the way to Canberra, it is considered a satellite city of Canberra, very convenient for shopping and eating. The location of the hotel is OK. The balcony is suitable for sitting and relaxing. The room is spacious and has kitchen utensils.

We were very happy with our adjoining rooms. Staff very accommodating to any queries or needs. Will stay again.
We can hear people next door talking as we were arranged to stay at a connecting room. The door crack is so wide that we can hear people next door talking which gives a sense of insecurity. It is suggested that the door crack should be fixed, for the privacy of people staying at the two rooms who do not know each other.
The Reception staff was friendly and welcoming upon our arrival. Our room was well appointed and comfortable. When we need convenient and affordable accommodation in Canberra, we will definitely book in.
We had a great stay at The Statesman for a work stint in Canberra. The rooms were clean and comfortable, it’s close to everything and a really nice bar and restaurant downstairs. I was there on a Thursday and the place was buzzing with the meat raffle. Couldn’t fault the service.
Happy with the room , TV.didnt have free to air commercial channels 9 & 7 and the night service desk is basically a help line that were very polite but useless telling me they would send an email at 7:30 the next day which was no help considering I was booking out the next morning. Very good location, close to light rail stop, Canberra centre and you can easily catch a coach downstairs.
The location is excellent, surrounded by great choices for restaurants, bars and convenience shops. Happy hour at the hotel 4-6pm about $14 for a schooner and wine. The room though was dated, and not the best value for money. Parking at the hotel is limited but has nearby parking options which cost less than the hotel’s daily rate.
Check-in service was a bit slow as only one staff member at the desk, and also tickets that weren’t included for the Pompeii exhibition weren’t available for some reason, so we had to wait a while before we actually received the tickets. We were last at this hotel just before Covid hit, so there was a marked improvement, but windows need to be soundproofed and also blockout curtains need to be laundered...

Breakfast value for money  Overall very good value for money, good location. An adequate budget hotel if comfortable staying somewhere  comfortable not wearing top of the range clothing with top of the range accessories. Curtains need new hooks, but facilities in room adequate and clean
I have stayed at Madison Capital in Braddon many times now. Walking distance to cafes, restaurants, bars & shopping centre. Nice continental breakfast included.
Convenient location at heart of Canberra. But room is crowded with basic supplies. Parking lot is full, parked along side curb. Breakfast has little choice. There is no hot food for breakfast. Disappointed.
