Sunnybank Hotel in Brisbane

Posting this review with a focus on the accommodations, as that is what I made the most use of. While not outright vile or anything, it was probably one of the more unpleasant places I've stayed.

The beds in the room both felt like they were collapsing or sinking on one side to the extent that it was not feasible to sleep properly on them.

The shower curtain bar crumbled and fell the moment it was touched, and the bar was unpleasantly aged and rusted so that was not a fun time putting back together. This happened several times until we managed to get it to stick.

The TV in the room would often randomly shut down, requiring turning it off and on again to fix it. Don't really know if this was some built in timer or what.

The backdoors have a tiny seating area, but half the rooms have a large infestation of some kind of bug built up on the doors so you don't really want to hang out there. This could be a seasonal issue, I am writing this in summer time.

The AC is located in a very high up spot that is slightly out of the way, which lead to some corners of the room not getting good airflow.

The hotel reception was strangely difficult to find. Got sent back and forth between employees before ending up back with the person we started with, really not sure what happened here.

That all said, the staff was great so credit where credit is due. Very helpful and very timely in cleaning. I feel most of my problems come down to the fact that the whole accommodation building feels like it's going to fall over in a strong breeze, but there's not much for fixing that I think. Just be aware of what you are getting into.

Also, for fairness, this is all just stuff that happened in my room. I did not see into any others and have no way of knowing if they have the same issue.
