We specifically asked for a bath and had 2 bathrooms. However there no plug for either the bath or basin in one bathroom and the kitchen one didn't fit anything...this should be checked and noticed by cleaning staff and promptly dealt with, it was 9pm by the time we discovered it and too late to do anything about it. Not happy! The kitchen was very poorly equipped, I feel sorry for anyone who might want to cook there..we needed a glass or even plastic jug as we wanted to put water in the fridge to cool but No Jug. I had also bought plunger coffee to make fresh coffee the next morning, but there was no plunger coffee pot..it was the worse and most sparsely equipped kitchen in an apartment that I have ever seen. The apartment itself was clean and furniture wise was comfortable as were the beds, Unfortunately the noise the next morning below started up at 4am with rubbish trucks collecting the recycling and for 10 mins I heard every glass bottle being thrown into the truck...then the workman on a nearby site started hammering at dawn. It was incredibly noisy and therefore we were awake extremely early. The spa and swimming pool were lovely although no good for anyone with a disability as the steps up were very steep. the parking was secure and cost an extra $25 a night although a bit tricky to find and get into. There were a few restaurants within walking distance which was great. The man we spoke with was very pleasant and helpful. We ask that all the bathrooms are checked and have plugs that actually fit put in. This is such a very small thing to do at a minimum cost and would've made us a lot happier. We paid extra to have a bath so it was a real let down at the end of a long day.
When we contacted the front desk, we were told that our reservation was confirmed and were instructed to retrieve the key from a designated key box. However, due to an error by staff, the key was not there. The representative then asked us to wait 15 minutes someone will call us or come to help us, but no one shows up.
After calling again, a different staff member answered and assured us that security would be sent to let us into the room, though we were informed we wouldn’t receive a key until Monday due to weekend staffing issues. We waited 30 minutes—still no one arrived, and no one called us.
Over the course of more than two hours, we made multiple calls, each time speaking to a different person who had no knowledge of our situation. We had to repeatedly explain everything from the beginning. Despite assurances that someone would contact us or come to assist, no one ever did. Not once did any staff member apologize or take genuine responsibility for resolving the issue.
We were forced to book another hotel after more than two hours of failed resolution, at a rate significantly higher than the average price.
We had driven over nine hours from Sydney to enjoy the fireworks and begin our vacation, full of excitement and anticipation. Instead, we were left frustrated and utterly disappointed by the unprofessionalism and lack of care from your team.
The complete absence of accountability, follow-through, or empathy from your staff is unacceptable. I strongly advise others to reconsider staying at this hotel until significant improvements are made in customer service.
My friend trialed for 1 day to clean several rooms and even she saw them crawling in other apartments! When we confronted the owners they told us it was our fault because we are travellers?! They saw the evidence and just push problems aside. It's all about money for them no customer service at all. I hope this way I can warn people! There are better places on Astor Terrace or Brisbane for all that matters! (Pls find squashed bedbug on picture)
Cafe and Restaurants near hotel
The staff obviously didn't want to be there, our beef patties were burnt, I had practically 3 strands of lettuce in my burger with what seemed like a cup of mustard and 9 pickles, to top it off, my sundae was 60% icecream and 40% fudge, I love my fudge but that was way too much!!
I've never been to a mcdonalds that seemed so under trained and horrible like this one.
But the worst of it was the drink, no ice, it was flat and it tasted like soap.
Place wasn't busy.
Didn't have time to ask for a remake.
Knew someone who worked there a few months ago, they said it was really dirty out the back.
Will never eat there ever again.
