I am amazed by this place-YHA Brisbane city-I chose an all girls room and it was amazing, with lockers, clean and money well spent! Location is within walking distance from the Roma station, Roma street park, Victoria bridge, South bank, CBD, walking street, even the Brisbane Botanic Garden and the old parliament house! After checking out you can leave your bag within the day and still use some amenities! I was truly amazed with that and the staff are superb! Will book YHA in other cities as well! Thanks YHA for making my Brisbane trip extra special!

It's mainly cheap, and the location is decent. That whole strip is backpacker hostels. Staying in a 6-person mixed dorm with two guys and four girls was a bit awkward. The English girl on the bottom bunk snored incredibly loudly.

Great hostel, very well located near a Coles and a bus stop to the city center. There’s a gym, a pool, and a big kitchen (though it can get quite busy at times). It’s easy to meet people, and the free pancakes on some days are really good.

The staff is super friendly, and the bar is very convenient. I stayed in a 4-bed room, which was nice overall. You might hear the train sometimes, and there are several hostels on the same street.

Good value for money — maybe just missing a toaster! I’ve already stayed here twice, which says a lot.

Huge thanks to the staff for their attentive service! My stay was wonderfully comfortable, the environment was spotless, and the thoughtful details everywhere made me feel so welcome. I'll definitely choose this place again next time!

The hotel is a perfect place to stay with. The only thing to say of the down side is the location to train station. Some time you will feel noisy when with an approaching train.
But on the other hand, that could also be a good point for easy access.

Location is great: easy access to Roma street train station. Easy access to CBD Brisbane

Room amenities: restroom lights/vent and TV were not functional

Room size: room is decently sized

Reception: some staff were very helpful, others not so much.

I thought it was all round a great place to stay on a budget.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
I only stayed for one night as my plans changed at the last minute.
Not sure if I am able to be refunded for the second night.

The room was smaller than expected and the cleanliness could be improved. Unfortunately, it was also hard to sleep because one of the roommates snored very loudly at night.

Good quality food and service at reasonable prices. If you think you may go there several times, join their club and make good savings as well as receiving a free meal on your birthday.

Very delicious and large main meals. The restaurant at Milton is easy to get to. Has a pleasant friendly environment. The only downside is even with a voucher, dinner fir two ended up being as expensive as fine dining.

OMG my family and I love hogs breath. The food is always amazing but tonight the service and food were above and beyond what we usually get. My son is 10 and he was the one that commented first about how lovely friendly and helpful the staff were. Keep up the amazing work hogs breath!!

The prime rib I had was medium rare just as I ordered. Was very tender and tasty. The staff were very friendly. I would recommend this place to family and friends.

5 star seafood, 5 star wines. 4 star for service (mostly very good but spent too long trying to catch someone's eye to order more food).
Biggest improvement needed is the dessert menu. Very uninspired and cheese plate was very average.

First time at this establishment, very nice service, fantastic, good portions, beautiful presentation but... some details need tuning. Perhaps, attention to detail!? Not sure!? If you charged over$400, you would expect perfection and it was not perfect. Rather humiliating in fact.

An absolutely decadent and superb dinner of Lobster Mornay, BBQ Bug with side dipping sauce and the best ever sweet Mud Crab.
Compliments to the Gambaro chefs, Nick and Montana for one of the freshest and most rewarding seafood dinners my son in law Adam and I have ever had!! Thank you and keep up the very high five star standard:)

Starters were nice (tuna tartar and fresh prawns) mains were a little disappointing. For the price the crumbed seafood hot mix was a glorified fish and chips and the linguine wasn't anything to rave about. While the service was good, for the price was hoping the food would offer more.

We ordered four meals; two Singapore Chicken, a Singapore Mixed and an Omelet. When we got our food we only received two meals, a Singapore Chicken and a Singapore Mixed. The waiter asked if we were sharing two meals between the four of us, to which we replied: no, we ordered four meals. Half an hour (and many update requests) later we received two more meals: the Omelet and something else. The omelet looked like it was thrown on the plate from at least 10 metres distance and we had no clue what was on the other plate. We tried to find out from the staff what it was, but it was very hard to communicate with them. We didn't understand them and they didn't understand us. We paid almost $60 for four meals, which also tasted very bad. Needless to say that we will never go here again. The whole experience was bad....very, very bad. Or as my wife summarised: I can't recall such a bad restaurant experience for a long time....no for ever!
The restaurant says BYO, but we didn't realise it means BYO food.

Had a really bad experience here on Friday night, not to sound mean, but the staff could barely understand us, and we could barely understand them, to the extent that our order got messed up.
Got 5 entrees, but ordered only 3, main meals were staggered, first two came out at once, and 20 minutes later, the rest came out, and the order was wrong. Ordered laksa and got pad thai, wooo.
Food was good, I guess. But if you have things at such a price, the service needs to reflect that. Terrible experience. Not recommended.

Really nice service, had a yellow curry sadly the potatoes where raw on the inside. Except that the curry was really nice. Was there with two mates they're curry was really nice.

Ordered two dishes for take away, Tom yum soup was plain and whatever it was, it wasn't Tom Yum (it's my favorite, have had it many times around the world). Big pieces of unpeeled ginger, overcooked veggies, hardly any seafood and little flavour. Second dish was a coconut curry which frankly was the biggest disappointment of our evening. I would rate this Thai food as the absolute poorest effort on Caxton. Can't recommend it and won't be back.
