The studio was clean, compact and comfortable. It had all the facilities I required including a fridge, cooktop and enough utensils/pots & pans to enable self-catering. The shower was great with plenty of water pressure ;-) The hotel has undercover parking and they were very happy to allow my vehicle to remain parked until the afternoon on the day of checkout when I had to go into the City - this was much appreciated Team! The hotel is a short walk from Westfield Chermside (I recommend a 90min de-stress at Total Fusion with a Rooftop Wellness Pass) and the bus interchange is also convenient for a 30min ride into the City. There are also plenty of vending machines in the Lobby to satisfy the sudden urge for any drinks/snacks if you are caught without supplies. The mini-breakfast bar is also a nice touch for cereals and bread that you can take back to your room to before heading out for the day's action. I'll be back :-)

It’s great, fully equipped, free parking, very clean and comfortable, kitchen with cooking facilities, washing machines and dryer, I would recommend it to everyone especially families

Room and building were clean. Room equipment worked well.
Location is nice and quiet.
Staff were very helpful.
Lift was slow and kitchen space was limited.
Unfortunate that there is no level access to reception.

Everything about this place was excellent, the room was extremely comfortable and a great size. It was also very quiet. It was great to have car parking and a washing machine & tumble drier available. All staff we encountered were very friendly and professional. It was also in a great location

My go to place to stay . Walking distance to shopping and dining at Chermside shopping centre. Free breakfast. Nice rooms .

Not surprised at all by the 1.4 star rating of Shingle Inn Chermside after my recent experience. As a loyal customer of Shingle Inn Indooroopilly, I am disappointed to say that its Chermside franchise is just not up to standard. The staff at Chermside are either incredibly rude or simply lack the basic communication skills that are required to work in customer service. At the counter, I was served by (I assume) either the manager and/or owner of the franchise. She attempted to overcharge me for the cake I ordered, and only corrected her "mistake" when I questioned the ridiculous total price. She also tried to deny me from using a free coffee I had on my loyalty card, stating I needed to give her my card earlier in the transaction as it was a great inconvenience having to go back and add it on. I kid you not those were her exact words. Way to encourage return business. To top it off, the cake I ordered was stale. Evidently, there are already enough negative reviews on here, however I just couldn't resist sharing my own story with the many others who already have, or are contemplating doing so in the future.

Extortionate prices, ridiculous wait time. Waited 25 minutes for a simple order so it was no surprise when the eggs were overcooked, and I completely forgot I was even eating eggs benedict because what I was tasting was far from it. Bright yellow weird tasting sauce that left a weird taste in the mouth and even weirder feeling in the belly. A woman with 1200 children dropped a glass so an entire third of seating was quarantined for a ridiculous amount of time and there was still glass on the floor. Staff either barely spoke English or acted like a stunned mullet when approached. Overall - disgusting. Won't be returning.

Just a cafe, nothing special. Ground Floor near the Westfield information counter. Operates prior to the Mall's official opening time, so grab a coffee and breakfast whilst waiting for the shops to raise their shutters.

Staff need retraining and struggled multiple times to take food to the correct table number. The poor waitress had two left feet and no common sense. When we asked if they have high chairs we may borrow the answer was a flippant "yeah, 'round the corner". No offer to assist the mother at the table whatsoever.

Took my father here as he's dreadfully ill and needed to rest. I've always liked the Shingle Inn at the city so thought that would be the best thing for him. Big mistake! Food was all over the place, one coffee not received and when we queried this, the manager of the shop proceeded to abuse my obviously elderly and unwell father. It was the most outrageous experience I've had. I then watched him do the same thing to other customers. If you're into being treated like some sort of second class citizen while paying for over priced food that tastes like garbage, and not likely to be what you ordered - then I would recommend this place. Otherwise, do what the Centre staff apparently do and walk 10 mins to the other end of the shopping centre for good food and really good coffee!

calamari was stringy and obviously frozen. salad came with chucks of cucumber and basically a whole onion. overly expensive for the quality. never again.

Very disappointed. Coffee cup, teaspoon and tea strainer all dirty! Then it takes ages to get clean replacements. Corn and zucchini fritters with bacon served cold. My husbands grilled Haloumi bruschetta was good but that was the only good thing.

Very very noisy. Staff drag chairs around one-handedly on hard floor which simply adds to the noise level.

Coffee came straight away but had to wait for food another 15 minutes. Still the food was tasty and attractive.

Had food here while shopping at Chermside. It was very busy, so somewhat difficult to find a seat. When we did locate a table had to ask for the table to be cleaned down, as left over food was there and very dirty. Food was ok if not a bit pricey.
Perhaps they need to put extra staff on during these busy times.
