Mantra Broadbeach on the Park in Gold Coast

So dirty, food all over the plates. Floor gross, staff had limited English which caused communication barriers. Bathroom sink wasn't attached to the bench, it just rested there, which ment I had to share my ensuite. So noisy (passing cars, resturant dumping glasses bottles twice hourly, 5.30am power tools in room next door 🙄, can hear banging from room above all night). Mould problem. Had no hot water sporadically for hours on end. Doesn't come with any of the extras it states (no dish washing liquid, no dishwasher powder, no laundry powder) washing machine was gross, dryer lint had never been emptied. Towels dirty. Staff didn't care. Springs in mattress dig into you. Pool was NOT heated. Worst accommodation ever!

Expected more from this visit, very unorganised and lack of communication from staff, they all seemed very stressed. Location was great but reception is hardly there and hard to get a hold of. Found a spider in our bed and they made us wash our own towels instead of providing. Air con was leaking and there was a pungent smell the whole time.

We had a late check in, which worked fine, but discovered the air-con in our room was not functional. There was a pedestal fan in the room which suggested that the hotel knew the air con was broken - unfortunately it didn't work either!
Requested a room change the next morning which the staff (who were great I have to say!) were happy to accomodate. New room was nice, with split system in the main bedroom which worked well. The room air con was still non-funtional however, the dishwasher also didn't work & the ceiling fan in the bedroom I think needed a new battery in the remote as it also wasn't working!
Overall our experience was OK because we had the room with the split system air con - without that it would have been unbearable. The staff are very friendly & helpful but thay are not being given very much to work with as the hotel is in need of MAJOR maintenance & upgrade. It's a pity because it's in a great location a very short walk to all that Broadbeach has to offer. Possibly a good option in the winter but I would steer clear in hot or humid weather!
