Burleigh Mediterranean Resort Enquiries in Gold Coast

We booked a 3 bedroom superior apartment with ocean views and were allocated room 2305. I would argue we got a 2 bedroom apartment where one bedroom slept 4 people. Two rooms shared one wardrobe, one light switch, and there was a double sliding louvre doors to separate them. Therefore, zero privacy!! If you wanted to get away from snoring - no chance. And the wardrobe was full of boogie boards.
There was also an ant infestation in the kitchen, don't accidentally leave a biscuit on the counter.
On checking in I mentioned that I didn't like the credit card fee (at 1.7% it adds up on a longer stay), and was told by Karen (!) that the confirmation email has the bank details (it does not, an outright untruth) and anyway, I should have called them to arrange a bank deposit. To be fair, that detail about calling them was contained half-way down on page 2 of 3 pages of T&Cs.
Finally, this is not a hotel, it's self-service apartments. I found the cooking smells in the corridor not appealing, but thankfully they didn't follow into the apartment.
It is a lovely spot, and Burleigh is amazing. And the rooftop terrace is a great spot.

- it's not that the arrangements 'wasn't ideal', the issue is that we did not get what we paid for.
- I also objected to the payment options being mis-represented. I'll know what to do next time - if there is a next time.

My wife stayed with our two boys and we loved the location, it is fantastic. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and we had a great stay, until the end.

We accidentally left our baby monitor in the room, and it is something we really need for bedtime. When we called to arrange postage, the staff were very inflexible. They said the only way to send it back was for us to first mail them a prepaid return bag to the hotel. They were quite obstinate on this and said if they didn't receive the postage bag they would discard in 5 days...the device is a couple of hundred $$$.

We had the same reaction. It felt like a strange policy that puts the guest in an awkward position, especillay after an otherwise nice stay, especially when we are trying to do the right thing and pay for postage back whatever it was. Usually it's done through a credit card auth form.

If the hotel can reconsider this approach, I am happy to amend my review because the stay was otherwise excellent.
