An Unforgettable Winter Escape – Exceptional Service & Gastronomy!

We are having the pleasure of staying at the Valamar Kesselspitze in Obertauern, and it is truly one of our best ski holiday experiences. While the hotel’s ski-in/ski-out location is world-class, what made our stay truly stand out is the exceptional, personalized service.

A special mention must go to the concierge team, Ingrid and Alen. They are a true "dream team" who redefined hospitality for us. Special recognition goes to Ingrid who is incredibly kind and efficient; she has a remarkable ability to understand exactly what you need before you even finish asking, finding solutions instantly and always with a smile. Alen, the Snow Concierge, is equally impressive- available, professional, and dedicated to making our mountain experience flawless.

The service in the restaurant is equally superb. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the waiting staff. Every meal is a delight not just because of the food, but because of their extreme kindness and efficiency. They are incredibly attentive to our every request, always professional, and make us feel genuinely welcome at every breakfast and dinner.

In an industry where service can sometimes feel standard, the team here makes it feel personal. Thank you for a wonderful stay—we can't wait to return!

Lovely friendly hotel right on the slopes! It’s a 30 min uphill walk to the village for non- skiers but the hotel has a great shuttle . The spa/ swimming pool is beautiful and the rooms have everything you need although they are always very hot - a light duvet option would be good. Most of the staff are now younger Croatians who speak great English and are great fun! The overall feel is younger and livelier - except for the bar which always seems to be quiet and dull. It’s expensive these days to get to Obertauern at 220 euros for a taxi and no shared shuttle anymore - this used to be great and a reason to go. Room 102 is nice inside with a large sofa/ window seat and possibly 3rd bed - but the view is disappointing as it’s of the roof of the chalet so best avoid if possible Overall a great trip with lovely people.

We booked the Kesselspitze for a week Skiing, and were impressed by the ski in/ski out location. The hotel has direct access to Achenrainbahn and Schaidbergbahn, and you can ski back to hotel from several pistes. The room was very comfortable in a modern Austrian style and included a kettle and Nespresso machine. We had booked full board and weren’t disappointed by the food with plenty of choice. Dinner was 6 courses (if you were hungry!) with a choice of meat, fish or veggie for the main dish. There is also a great wine selection on offer from the hotel’s wine cellar. We also enjoyed the spa and heated indoor pool, as well as the outdoor hot tub. The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble.

Food and service is beyond amazing. We have been coming here for years. Zeljko our waiter looked after us everyday at breakfast and dinner with a smile ans complete warmth.

Maya looked after ours kids, and our kids simply adore her.
