Overall great experience, rooms were very clean and the staff were exceptionally nice and polite. Edvin has been our waiter for most of the time in the restaurant and he is always happy to help. The saunas and pool were also very well maintained. Would recommend to everyone!

Hotel was very nice with outstanding personel. We were on a business organized trip and it was easy to make agreements with staff. Restaurant had a very nice buffet with a chef preparing excellent dishes.

An absolutely fantastic hotel in the centre of Obertauern perfect for beginners and advanced skiers alike. Key highlights of the hotel include a lovely Spa area, swimming pool, superb restaurant with wonderful choice of varied food selections and the most amazingly friendly and helpful stuff that you could wish to have on your holiday. Rooms are serviced daily and there is tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Only criticism is that the storage facilities do differ from room to room with no drawer storage. There is a ski concierge Franica who will organise private tuition and almost anything else that you want. A hotel for all the family.

Excellent hotel, well equipped, modern rooms and great facilities (swimming pool, spa, lounge). The food is excellent, very tasty with variety of choice. The best about this hotel is its staff: nice, polite, professional and always ready to help. Great place for kids: kids meals, kids club, choice of ski schools. The hotel is on foot very close to a blue ski track (2min), to a bus stop (1min), grocery store (2min), ski rental and shopping (4min). There are also activities for non skiers (walking, sledging). I recommend it for a stress free family holiday.

I spent a most relaxing week in this hotel (apart from the skiing !). The rooms are well appointed, exceptionally clean and have picturesque views. In fact everything in and about the hotel is to a high standard and the staff are super friendly. There is a wonderful spa within the hotel "Oberflow" which is well equipped for you to chill out and recharge after a day on the pistes. It has a vast array of bean bags, loungers and a beautiful heated swimming pool. One thing I'd never had that I treated myself to, was a lower back massage with a therapist called Delores. She certainly knows her stuff ! I came out fully relaxed and supple; literally floating ! The surrounding area has a good choice of restaurants and bars within walking distance. All in all, I can recommend the Valamar for its locality to the ski slopes, and the picture postcard beautiful views from and around it.

Our winter ski holiday in Obertauern is something our family truly looks forward to every year, and Valamar Obertauern Hotel is a big part of that. This was our fourth stay in a row, and once again we felt completely at home. The location is excellent—right next to the ski slopes—and the hotel offers everything needed for a carefree family ski holiday: garage parking, a spacious and heated ski room with a separate entrance, indoor and outdoor heated pools for relaxing after skiing, great food for breakfast and dinner, and a lovely Maro Club for children. Of course all the hotel facilities are clean and well maintained. What truly makes this hotel special, however, is the staff. Everyone is kind, professional, attentive, and genuinely warm, yet never intrusive. From booking and organizing ski equipment and ski school, to check-in, meals, and every interaction during our stay, the service was exceptional. We travel quite often, both for work and as a family, but this level of professionalism combined with personal warmth is something we rarely experience—actually, only here. A big thank you to Franica, Đurđa, Nika, Edvin, Danijel, Jadranka, Admir, and Zvonimir for making our stay unforgettable once again, especially for our son Vito, who now compares every trip we take to Obertauern 🙂 We hope to return again very soon. Recently returned from our ski holiday here. Very nice hotel. Not quite ski in/out but only a very short walk to the nearest lift. You can, if you turn right on leaving the hotel, take a short walk along the road and ski down to another lift. Hotel staff are lovely, Edvin , our waiter was a gem, as was Francine on the Experience Concierge. She even messaged me on her day off to confirm she had arranged my skiing lesson! Good spa area with an outside pool plus sauna, massages and a well equipped gym. Not so good: lobby bar often very noisy either young children running around whilst parents had their drinks-we felt a small “ adults only” bar may be appreciated by many guests. I used the pool a few times and on each occasion unsupervised children were there! I actually stayed longer than intended one day as I was concerned about one young child who was in arm bands but no adult to be seen anywhere! Otherwise a great hotel and very good location.
