It is a very nice hotel, with nice staff, situated close to the x-country ski tracks and with access to the public swimning and spa. The breakfast is super, and salad buffet in the evening is also good, but the warm meals are really not very good. Sorry to say. We had a risotto that tasted of nothing, a curry Dahl that tasted bad, a wild boar that was tasteless and dry. Compared to the rest of the good quality, we were surprice by the poor quality of the warm dishes from the kitchen. They should be able to do better to fit the overall good impression.

Wonderful experience. The only negative comment would be the quality of the pull out couch in the family room. Our kids slept in the bedroom and we were up later in the living room and did not sleep at all during our stay. This could definitely be improved.

Everything is tip top. There is nothing to complain about. Willingness, equipment, kitchen, location. We have visited the hotel 3 times now and it is rare that I can say that I see further improvement, but here I do.

25.08.2024 Pitching

We had a great stay for seven days. The hotel has recently been renovated and is in really good shape. The rooms were very spacious and well set up. There’s a direct connect tunnel to the local swimming pool, which is a lot of fun to go to after a day of hiking. The food was very good, although I have teenage boys and so I think they would’ve rather just had pizza. However, there’s a lot of time and effort put into the menu. You have to pay for drinks, but that’s to be expected if you’re going on vacation. You should expect to spend some money. The service is five out of five stars. Excellent service I can’t say enough good things about the service staff. Very professional very well done. The owners are very nice and go out of their way to talk to you and give advice on the local area. Hiking is top-notch. Some of the best hikes that we’ve done as a family. Plus there’s many other things to do. I definitely recommend Hotel Matschner!

Stayed in the apartment. Really nice, spacious, clean, air conditioned and modern with large balcony mostly in the shade - which was nice due to the warm weather.

29.06.2022 Josh

A good hotel for people seeking mountain activities auch as hiking or climbing. The location is optimal and also has a view of the ski jumping ramp across from the hotel. Clean rooms and good staff. Free access to the public swimming pool is standard with a room and dogs are also allowed.
