Ferienhotel Knollhof in Ramsau am Dachstein

Staying in this hotel was an absolute pleasure. Our stay started with Grill night in the restaurant. We enjoyed a delicious barbecue which was concluded by a wonderful ice-cream cake served with a big sparkler – a show my son liked very much.

We enjoyed the breakfast buffet as well as delicious dinners every night. Our room was very clean, comfortable and cozy. We appreciated a little playground in front of the hotel as well as a lovely playroom inside, which is ideal for a pieceful play after skiing in the morning.

The location of the hotel is just amazing – right below a wonderful mountain range. We slept very well thanks to the absolute silence around. The hotel is very close to the shops, bus stop and cafes in the center of Ramsau. The swimming pool with kids area in Ramsau is just an 8-minute walk.

The staff was always kind, attentive, helpful and in good mood. My most favorite detail about our stay was the Good Morning Post – a one-page newsletter which we always found at our breakfast table. Not only did we get the weather forecast for the day, we could also learn a lot about the Ramsau region, its traditions and history. I looked forward to reading it every morning.:-)

Overall, this was a proper winter alpine experience in Austria.:-)

We had an amazing stay at the Ferienhotel Knollhof and wouldnt hesitate to stay again or recommend it! Lovely clean, spacious rooms, great breakfast, very friendly, helpful staff and the location is fantastic with a breathtaking view of the mountains!! My wife and I stayed two nights here as part of our Dachstein Circuit.

The hotel is tucked off the main road, and around 5-10 minutes walk to the centre of town. We were warmly welcomed by the owner, who kindly tolerated our terrible attempts at Austrian and then told us about the facilities.

Our room was large, spotlessly clean, with a lovely balcony looking over the valley. This is an old, family run hotel with traditional Austrian mountain style decor. The wood carvings in the restaurant are amazing.

The restaurant is table service and we were very well looked after. There is a well stocked salad bar and a good drinks menu. We are vegetarian so there was a starter and main that was suitable. The first night was a vegetable lasagne that my wife said was the best she had ever had! The second night was grill night so we had jacket potatoes and grilled vegetables with sauce. There was a special dessert that involved lights being turned off, sparklers and the owner parading the dessert around the room!!

The hotel has a sauna, steam room, and infrared cabinet, so we had a lovely hour relaxing and using the facilities. Be aware Austrians sauna naked!

We would happily stay here again for the hospitality, food, and location.

Lovely Inn in an absolutely breathtaking natural surroundings! We picked this area because it was accessible by train, bus and a 15 minute walk. You can ski just steps outside the back door. The breakfast was wonderful and was slightly different each day. I hope to go back in the summer!

Rooms delightful and great views sunrise Nd sunset with the mountains surroding the hotel. Bathroom could do with updating. But the staff the chef rather accommodating. As Vegans we had no complaints, and the chef and his team made every meal a special meal. You can walk to the nearest ski lift or drive 20min to plani, a great location. Thank you.

What a nice family hotel! The people are very friendly, dinner and breakfast very good, shower is very good! Love the little chain to put the light at the bed on!!

Very nice place. Hotel has everything you need to rest alone or with family: clean and big rooms, sauna, hammam, nice cooking and generaly speaking gentle and high - quality service and cosy atmosphere. Plus of course the Ramsau am Dachstein wonderful landscape for people who love walking, hiking or running.

You come for the hotel and you stay for the service. The staff here are excellent and do their best to look after you. It feels like you are part of the family.
