Berghof in Ramsau am Dachstein

An extremely well-managed family hotel, where everything has been done with a lot of love and it shows.
Excellent food, great rooms and right next to the cross-country skiing slopes of Ramsau.
Multiple saunas, incl. one with a panoramic view, swimming pool and lots of amenities.
I stayed here before and it was again a fabulous experience.

This hotel was perfect !! The staff and professional service was amazing. The food was exceptional and after a week of being there the menu was always different. The spa is quite large and a welcome after a freezing day in the snow. It’s a 20 min walk to the ski stadium but cross country ski runs are available right from the hotel. 5* all round. Very clean and fast maid services. We are going back to experience the summer hikes.

Beautifully located overlooking the Dachstein mountain range. This dog friendly hotel features large and comfortable rooms. The service is very friendly and the owner family is closely involved in the day to day activities. The BF buffet features fresh and local products. However, the fried eggs are made in advance and kept warm in a shaving dish. Guess this could be improved. Loved the bread selections and the juice bar!
The dinner menu was well prepared and presented with a choice of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes.
Guest rooms have been always serviced well and have been spotless clean.
The hotel owns a beautiful pond close to the hotel with clear water; super for water activities with your dog. Overall a very nice stay.
🛜 is pretty weak. Pillows on the bed are not very comfortable. The rest was perfect.

I was seeking an oasis to relax and recharge in and I found it. I was traveling alone so booked a single room, which was much nicer than it appears in the pictures on the site, perfectly designed for functionality and comfort. The spectacular views of the mountainside from the room's balcony, the hotel's veranda and dining room, the lounge chairs next to the pond, and from the panorama sauna do the soul good. The rooms are also incredibly quiet, have blackout curtains and excellent mattresses so I slept superbly, particularly after sessions in the pool and sauna. The warm and attentive service makes you feel at home immediately. This is a family run hotel, by a family and staff whose mission is to make you feel taken care of and delighted. I had forgotten my toothbrush and they went to the town to get me one. They provide at breakfast each morning a small pamphlet that explains the weather forecast for the day, and proposes a fitting hike that will take you somewhere pleasant along, and highlights a particularly delicious dish in a restaurant along the way that you can try. Berghof's own restaurant is very good; it is firmly grounded in Austrian culinary traditions, but offers each day three options: meat, fish or veggie. Sometimes it was superb, somedays something was a bit over or undercooked, but mostly it was thoroughly enjoyable. The only fly in the ointment is the music that is played in the dining room which to an American ear is a bit like what we are used to in an elevator and thus distracts from the surrounding natural beauty and the food. The soups in particular were delectable; one tomato soup with cinnamon was revelatory. I also greatly appreciated that they must treat their staff also very well, given that one of the people there has worked for them for 25 years and seems quite happy. If you just wish to cocoon, then the pool, the different sauna rooms, the on site massage and reading on the deck will content you. The fact that they serve breakfast, a small snack of soup and sausages in the early afternoon and then a 5 course dinner means you never have to leave the hotel if you don't want to. If you wish to explore, there are many hiking paths very close to the hotel. There is a bus stop just across the street from the hotel which is free with the summer card they give you at the hotel. This can take you to town, or to the places where the gondola rides go to the top of several of the nearby mountains. There are also many activities in the surrounding areas which the card gets you access to or discounts on. The connection from Vienna by train is about four hours, either direct or with one stop in which the connecting train stops at the same track shortly after the first one. The Austrian train system, unlike the German one, is very reliable. The views along the way are gorgeous; just be sure to reserve a seat if you travel in the summer as the trains can get fuil. The wellness area was very relaxing and the outdoor natural pool is so beautiful.
The indoor pool is normal, small but clean.
The wellness area is quite good.

The quality of the food was good, varied menu for breakfast and dinner, and there was always a choice for everyone.

Great access to all the areas of Ramsau. We had a nice trip to 5 Fingers. The hotel arranges the trip for us for free.
