Lovely historic hotel with lots of character and helpful staff.

Although the hotel is ancient, it has been beautifully renovated, with historical elements and exposed pieces carefully preserved throughout, truly reminding guests of its history. The blend of past and present is seamless, offering truly modern comfort: the Wi-Fi was fast and available in all areas of the building, and the sleeping experience was excellent, featuring high-quality mattresses with an additional topper and a dedicated pillow menu. The room's design perfectly complements the hotel's overall style, creating a balanced and cohesive atmosphere.
We chose this hotel primarily for its excellent location and close proximity to the city center, as well as my personal curiosity about staying in one of Europe's truly ancient hotels. Our expectations were met: the staff was highly experienced, attentive, and helpful whenever we needed assistance. We especially appreciated the cleaning, which was consistently top-notch.
The only minor issue we encountered was the absence of a dedicated plug socket in the bathroom, which was inconvenient for charging a shaver or electric toothbrush.
The restaurant, however, did not satisfy our expectations in terms of taste. While the staff there was kind and took good care of us, the food itself felt too typical and could benefit from a more sophisticated menu than the standard fare found in other local restaurants. We chose to dine elsewhere for our remaining two evenings.
Despite the restaurant issue, I would definitely recommend this cozy place to my friends; it offers a wonderful experience at honest prices.

Our stay was lovely! Such a well appointed room and hotel! The property is very elegant, and the atmosphere is quite warm and relaxing. Every free staff member we encountered was professional, warm, and gracious.

This being the oldest hotel in Vienna (since 1601), there’s no need to say the hotel has character. My room wasn’t large, but it was cozy and comfy. Antique furniture in good condition. Very comfortable bed. Large bathroom. Clean. The breakfasts were really good. Good service. Highly recommend!

My wife and I just spent four nights at this wonderful and quintessential Viennese hotel. The room was perfect and comfortable, and the public spaces were charming and attractive. The staff was attentive and helpful and genuinely added to our superb experience. The hotel's location is ideal.

Hotel Stefanie is a luxurious experience. Although filled with framed pictures and historical artifacts, it does not feel cluttered. The service at the breakfast buffet and at dinner is top notch, the breakfast spread is good, their Wienerschnitzel and Kaiserschmarrn are to die for. The room we had was spacious with a view to the inner courtyard. The bathroom was big with a huge shower.

A very nice hotel, authentic, just as pictured. A lovely room. They even put out a nice basket especially for our dog. Breakfast was also excellent. We didn't have dinner.
