While the location is great there are many other hotels in the area to choose from. This hotel needed serious upgrades. The furniture was crusty, the WiFi was awful, the walls were way too thin, and, the bathroom was disgusting. Genuinely, my bathroom had water damage, the shower was difficult to use, and I noticed it was not being properly cleaned. In fact, nothing was properly cleaned which is confusing given that the staff was so eager to bust into your room at 8 am while you were still sleeping. The towels were not changed regularly and it seems the only thing they did was take out the trash and fold the comforter. Also the breakfast was awful and needed updating (bread, cold cuts, canned fruit, and hard boiled eggs). Overall if you’re staying for a day and don’t really care about anything it’s fine. If you’re staying longer, and value cleanliness, WiFi, and top notch service go elsewhere. It also smelled bad.

Our experience at the hotel - quite worn out, the rooms are in need of renovation, although the reception said that this is an old place, which only seemed so from the facade. The beds are old and creaky, the pillows "as usual" - soft, filled with polyester. The breakfast is uniform with a small selection of dishes, from the hot food only warm boiled eggs. Coffee from a filter... Now for the good - the hotel location 5 stars for the location and proximity to the metro. The hotel staff is responsive, smiling.

Hello, my daughter and I stayed at this property for three nights, from Thursday to Sunday. The entrance to the guesthouse is on the second floor of the building where it is located, and the front door is not very easy to find. Upon my arrival, they immediately asked me to pay for the entire stay. The rooms are old and bare. When booking, I had specifically requested two separate beds, but instead they gave me a double room with a queen-size bed. We even had trouble getting in and out of bed (with an uncomfortable mattress) because there was very little space on either side. So I complained, but the response was: "There's only that one room available." The room was old and dirty, with encrustation all over the walls and dust. The bathroom was windowless and tiny, with traces of encrustation. The terrace had very rusty railings and dangerous streetlights. The breakfast was ridiculous, scant, with very little choice and few supplies. Even the toast machine burned rather than toasted the slices, and customers piled the burned bread on a plate next to the machine. The staff was unfriendly and inadequate, not only in terms of numbers but also in terms of manners. For all this, I paid almost €120 per person per night. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

My experience at the Neuer Markt guesthouse wasn't great: the room was nice, but the beds were small and uncomfortable, and I wasn't happy with the pillows. There was no liquid soap in the bathroom, and in the morning during breakfast, the lady working in the dining room would constantly pressure me as soon as I sat down, demanding I eat something right away because they were about to clear everything away. I understand they had to clear everything away, i was a little late, but while there's still food, give me a minute to at least sit down! Not recommended!

Excellent location in the center of Vienna, view of the beautiful piazza from the room. Room was a good size for 3 people (2 twin beds and sleeper sofa). Front desk and breakfast staff were so helpful and nice. Breakfast choices were ok, not a big variety.

It was splendid we visited Vienna in February it was quite facile to divulge the location of the hotel since it was conspicious and wer were greeted by an amicable,kind,benevolent receptionist,who had briefly and evidently the fundamental information about the hotel,forbye other employees were courteous and well disposed,furthermore our room was extremely clean and our bed was comfortable and snug akinly bathroom was also in a good trim and clean eke the internet speed was adequate the insulation of heat and central heating was well.Moreover the breakfast was fabulous there were many kinds of abundant food in the open buffeet,which were fresh,savory.What’s more the location could not have been better it is situated in the heart of vienna, exact opposite(150meters aprox) Stephansplatz U Bahn in Innere Stadt.Apart from that possessing a super market beneath the hotel was a big plus for us there is nothing negative I could utter about this hotel.In case you pay a visit to Vienna consider accomodating in this hotel,which provises a superior price-quality ratio Thank you everyone for the great service provided that I come Vienna in future I would definetely opt to stay there

Why I said don't waste your money!!. First when we arrived at the hotel, homeless people in front of the hotel. Dirty around. The bathroom is so ridiculous small but the shower is xxx smal hard to take a shower. The carpet in the room was so dirty. The breakfast place is so antique, small place. I requested a scramble egs, and they said no, sorry, the food you see there is what we have for breakfast, only American coffee, nothing else. No extra choice. I'm so disappointed because of other travelers' reviews, thet said good place, and it's not. I have to be honest because my time, vacation, and money count.

An antique looking Hotel in a very central location in the central Vienna. Very friendly and helpful front desk and as well a very quick service by the plumber in the late evening. All are good. Yes, pillow was one but I could manage with a folded blanket along with it ;) What was missing are hot water kettle in the room and variations in the breakfast.

We stayed here for 4 nights in December and it was not cheap. The city centre location is excellent with attentive, knowledgeable staff and hearty breakfast provided. What the glossy promotional photo and video does not show is that there are at least 6 rooms (we were 45 - 3rd floor) that face the internal lightwell and in winter this means the single ceiling light needing to be on at all times. These rooms should come with either a health warning in Winter or let at a maximum discount. The room was an essay in brown! Brown ceilings, brown 1/2 wall panelling, brown furniture. The furniture seems to be leftover from the 1970s and is not fit for purpose in the 21st century. There were no facilities to make a hot drink either in the room or communally. There were inadequate sockets - one should not have to scrabble at the side of the bed to choose between bedside lights or charger. The "shower" is located centrally and is ideal for people les than 1.6m tall. The shower's location also ensures the maximum amount of water on the bathroom floor since the splash screen is at one end. The general decor is tired in the common areas with chipped and flaking paint prevalent.

Great location, close to everything. Room have no aircon and if you open windows it’s is very noisy. Handle on the bathroom door was broken. Beds are not very comfortable, and they provide only one pillow, but brought another pillow on request

Great location. Walking distance to almost key tourist attractions. Though the rooms are slightly dated but it didnt really bother us too much as bed is rather comfortable, amneties are sufficient. Size of room is acceptable for 2.

Room 306 was a corner room and very spacias!!
I have been to this hotel several times before. Housekeeping used to be better. Still is one of the top hotels on Vienna. Staff is friendly and location is great.

Old and tired hotel which definitely needs to be demolished and rebuilt. Cupboards in the room are falling apart. Carpets are worn and threadbare with bald patches in the carpet. Rooms are very noisy as street facing and no noise dampening curtains. No slippers provided and no drinking bottled water in the rooms provided and was told to drink tap water as it is safe! Rude staff at the front desk especially the mature looking lady not at all helpful. Bath products appalling quality for a 4 star hote. They should STOP TAKING ANY MORE BOOKINGS before the hotel is refurbished. Only plus point is the location which is central. Defintly NOT A FOUR STAR HOTEL.

The hotel was great – the reception staff were amazing and efficient. Despite arriving at 9 a.m., our room was already ready. The bathroom was spacious, and everything went smoothly throughout our stay. The location is perfect – right in the heart of Vienna, with everything within walking distance. The only thing I’d suggest is bringing your own shampoo and body wash, as the provided 2-in-1 gel just doesn’t quite cut it.

Best thing with the hotel is the location. It is clean enough but a bit outdated. The feeling is not much of a full 4star. There are limited toiletries in the room. Small mini bar with limited choice. If you have a lower floor room and looking towards the main street, mind you that there will be noise until late night. I had a window that was not closing properly so the noise was even worse. The beds are ok but not the most comfortable. I ran out of Kleenex which was not replace on the next morning, only the following day. For shorter stays and by being in the center you may want to consider. There is an ironing room and also had a shoe polishing machine on my floor, which was a nice found. There is complimentary tea and, instant coffee in the room.

Good location, good price and very nice interior design. Would have given 5 stars had we not had a bad experience with the bellhop who put us in the wrong taxi after we paid for a limo with the hotel to take us to the airport, and after the limo driver presented himself at checkout - IN FRONT OF THE BELLHOP.
