I had a great stay at El Misti Hostel Ipanema. The location is absolutely perfect—just a short walk to the beach, with plenty of places nearby to rent chairs, grab food, have drinks, or shop.
The hostel itself has security at all times, which made me feel safe during my stay. It also has a very social atmosphere, so it’s super easy to meet new people. One thing that really stood out was how clean everything was. The cleaners come in twice a day to tidy the rooms and bathrooms, so the space is always fresh and well maintained. The reception staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful.
The only downside is that it can get quite loud late at night since the street outside stays busy, and the windows are a bit thin—so definitely bring earplugs. It’s also a bit more expensive than some other hostels, but honestly, the comfort, cleanliness, and convenience make it worth the price.
Overall, highly recommended!

We had a great stay at El Misti. Our room was small but very nice, clean, comfortable with bathroom ensuite. The hostel is centrally located with lots of dining, shopping options all around and 1 block from the beach. Perfect location !
The bar had vegetarian options that were delicious. It's a party Hostel. Very fun and stimulating. Not a zen one if you're searching for calm relax stay.

Amazing place with super friendly staff
This hostel was amazing. I was traveling alone and I got friends from all over the world. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I will miss them all. This is definitely a place I am coming back to

My stay at El Misti was superb!! I stayed in a private room during 7-13 November. It was my first time in Rio, and this was the perfect place to meet people!! They organise lots of events, and having easy access to the beach with a ticket for a free chair is an addes bonus!
I can definitely recommend El Misti to others, and will likely stay here (or at least visit the amazing bar during happy hour!!) when I return, muito obrigado El Misti!! Tom

The hostel has expensive food and drinks. Arrogant male staff. I won't be back.

This Restaurant was a real surprise. We ordered a dish for 2 persons with different kinds of meat on it. Sizzling plate with nice chunks of meat on it. The service of the staff was good and efficient. they helped us selecting the meal... They tried their very best to communicate in English. Pricing was average... but money worth spent. My collegue had a real nice steak. Look nice and according to his munching, was very tasty as well.

Always crouded, full of locals and tourists. Take the picanha, they serve it rare and sliced on a piping hot skillet so you can grill the slices to your liking. Waiters are very friendly. Portions are big and food is of good quality. Only down point I can think of is that your clothes will smell like grilled meat from all the people who order the picanha. But that is part of it. Recommended, 5 stars!

The restaurant food was absolutely wonderful. It was amongst the best lunches we had in our whole Rio stay. I would highly recommend this place and it has a really good atmosphere from the song inspiration.
