Great experience! The hotel staff was always attentive. 100% reception service. Excellent cleanliness, both in the room and common areas! Everything that needed to be resolved was resolved! I extended my stay for another 3 days without any problems. The breakfast needs more variety in the food offered, it's always the same items, this could be improved! Clean rooms, nice pool, rooftop smoking area...
The staff are very friendly. The hotel itself is comfortable, but the double bed is made up of two small mattresses, so when sleeping, they separate, creating a hole. The street is very noisy. The hotel is nice inside, but the street is very dirty, smells bad, and is full of homeless people.
The breakfast was the same every day, but delicious.
The room was impeccably clean.
The pool is small, but it...
Clean , friendly and great location. Breakfast was kind of bad. All i could eat was scrambled egg and fruits. Sausage was too salty or something like that.
Great place, just a couple blocks from the beach. Excelent service and pricing.
Good location, great reception and great appearance (before entering the room), but the room leaves much to be desired!!!!
The hotel is well situated not far from COPACABANA beach few hundred meters from Riosul Shopping center the front desk staff were very helpful and spoke a good English

Loradio and Mario were amazing to deal with. Very grateful for their help. As for the hotel it’s in a good location but I could hear constant mechanical noise from my room and the rooms are outdated. However service from staff seems wonderful.
We like the hotel. Bedrooms was clean the girls from the reception was amazing did a great job. Excellent location good breakfast only bad thing was the towels bad smell. Everything was working well.
The localization here is the key - you are just on the beach front. The room cleanes was disappointing. Furniture had some water damages. Breakfast was satisfying but sometimes very crowded - that you couldn't get a place.

Noisy hotel, due to the structure of the building.
This hotel is located on Copacabana Beach. It's a clean, four-star hotel with a great breakfast. The rooms and bathrooms are also very spacious and large. I highly recommend it.
The shuttle bus to the Christ the Redeemer statue departs from Lido Square, and it's conveniently located right next door.
The bus to Panjiashkar (Mountain of Bread) also departs from the back, and there's a metro station nearby

This hotel is very convenient for travelers arriving late or have to wait for family to arrive the next day. The restaurant is great and they have a nice full buffet Brasilian breakfast. I’ve used the hotel several times and will do so again. They also offer a free shuttle from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2
It was abit far from the airport we are going to but still not bad.
Room was near and tidy but lacked any amenities. No kettle or glasses. No filtered water forcing you to buy from the mini bar.
The room was quiet but had no view - actually had no windows.
Breakfast buffet was actually tasty and enjoyable, with a selection of cold cuts, cheese and sweet bread plus eggs and sausages, juice and coffee.
To access the hotel, you can wait for the shuttle bus or walk...
Excellent. Highly recommended!
Excellent experience, I'll be back.
Quick and easy stay, a bit pricy but probably worth the convenience

Super clean hotel. Good bed and sheets. Super strong hot shower. It's an old fashioned hotel, this is not a problem, but it comes with the environment of its characteristics.
Well located, closer to the metro and some blocks away from the beach. Closer to stores and markets. Negative side: noise street, so always closed windows with AC on. A lot of noise from the corridor, due the type of floor that...
Absolutely fantastic: location, welcome, breakfast, room service, cleanliness, security
The room had a persistent smell. The bathroom, besides being tiny, wasn't very clean. The showerhead, full of limescale, produced very little water. Breakfast was good.
AC unit wasn’t running properly when I got there. But it worked fine the 2nd day, maybe the remote control batteries were old. The bathroom was minuscule, and the toilet bowl was running a little water. They need to maintain their facilities better. The staff was friendly and professional, kudos to them!
I really enjoyed my stay at this property. It was convenient, within walking distance of so many cool places. The property was clean, the breakfast delicious, and the staff was awesome. The only downside was that the building is on the older side and does show signs of needed maintenance.
Good service and very good food, the facilities need a little maintenance

It’s the most convenient location for the fencing championship. We love it and the big space for the family. The sofa bed is also comfortable.
Very clean room and excellent staff
The hotel is relatively new, with a plentiful breakfast and spacious rooms. While the location is a bit far from tourist attractions, it's ideal for business trips, especially for attending trade shows, as it's close to the exhibition center. Recommended.
The hotel does not provide sandals for walking around the room or using the toilet; you will need to bring your own or walk around the room barefoot.
Amazing place. Very nice people. Great service
The staff is what sets this hotel apart. Leonardo,Daniel and Ramon are superstars. Fluent in English and in understanding the American travelling for business.Highly recommend this property 🤗

Very nice hotel, close to good places and the Copacabana beach.
The room is far older than the pictures provided here on the trip.com. Also the smell of the bedding is not so good.
Room 1405 on the top floor has serious temperature problems.
The window panes are broken and only 6 mm thick. This is a security issue.
You also have to take two elevators to reach it, and my key was reset three times.
Even so, it was clean, reasonably priced, and conveniently located, which is what we wanted.
Simple, Clean, Honest breakfast. 1 block from Copacabana beach and easy to get around. Second elevator was on repair and caused some time loss.
Staff quite helpful. I better Poor TV/movies channels.
The location is ideal and the hotel is very nice. The gym wasn't working, and the breakfast was delicious, but the air conditioning was very strong (bring a coat).
The room I was assigned was an older room compared to the photos which showed modern design . I called the receptionist and he said the photos were illustration purposes only.
The cold water knob in the shower was broken and there was mildew all over.
They charge for storing suitcases! I traveled to 80 countries and this is a rare payment.

Cheap but terribly loud outside from the generators even earplugs won’t help.
Great hotel. Amazing location, lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Good breakfast, friendly staff. Rooftop pool. Recommend.
This hotel is by no means a 4-star establishment; a 2-star pousada would be better equipped. The only thing that deserves 4 stars is the location. The breakfast is at best okay, but not good or very good. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room is substandard, and the bathroom is horrendous, moldy, and filthy. See photos.
Great location, friendly staff, good breakfast. Nice terrace with pool. Some details need updating. This is my second time and I'll be back.
Pretty nice hotel bear Copacabana beach - next to Sugar Loaf hill and close to Christ the Redeemer. Nice size room, didn’t get to try the breakfast which looked delicious. AC was a bit aged made a bit of noise inside, but no big deal, must have been a one off. Good place, good stay, close to all the tourist spots!!!
Nice hotel. Large. Varied breakfast buffet. Somewhat outdated facilities. I didn't like that towels were changed every other day. Two blocks from the beach, excellent location. Lovely terrace with a pool.

Great location, courteous staff, clean updated rooms, quiet, nice breakfast, large pool....excellent!
Staff was hands-on rooms were spotless. Meals were great. Hotel is very well. Staffed couldn’t ask for a better stay.
Beds were kinda hard. Not terribly comfortable. Otherwise hotel is fine. Neighborhood is nicer than others in Rio.
Excellent location, good breakfast and early evening happy hour, 20meter lap pool and gym well maintained, spacious room
Clean, comfortable room. Nice bed! Excellent staff, especially the breakfast staff!
Would gladly stay here again!
Beautiful breakfast, great location and clean room. There were many amenities. There are so many restaurants and shops in that area and it felt very safe.

Simple breakfast. Great location. Honest fee.
The hotel is located very close to Lapa (it's good that it's close, but be aware that there will be noise from the surrounding area). The hotel offers good value for money, the structure is a bit old, the room is spacious, and the breakfast is okay. I will return because the location and price are good for me.
I always stay at the royal landing, excellent location
Improve the bedding as they were a little worn out.
Hotel fulfills what it proposes
Very cheap for a good bed and a good localization. Good breakfast.

The Hotel is a bit old and could have a small renovation.
But it's in a good location and the staff is amazing.
Thank you very much for having me two weeks staying with you Safe and good. You are very very friendly persons working there. Good looking, intelligent professionell and always ready for a interesting conversation about Rio de Janeiro and anything. Thank you all very very very much !! Now I have saudade. Saudações cordiais da Alemanha. ☀️🧡🎊🥂🙏🙏
The hotel leaves something to be desired in terms of pest control. The facilities need updating, but other than that we had no major problems. We didn't have breakfast because of the time difference, so I can't rate this service.
The hotel is a wreck! The breakfast is not very good! The staff is disgusting!
For a 3 star Hotel, the room was huge, free breakfast every day, which had a great array of food for every nationality. Small upper deck pool, but it was great to relax in. The only thing we missed was not having a kettle to make tea/coffee whenever we wanted.
Staff were very approachable and friendly.
Excelent price, location in Copacabana. Rooms are big with an amazing view from the balcony. Toiletries are only the most elementares, soap and shampoo (

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel during my vacation! The property is extremely clean and well-maintained, with modern amenities that made the experience comfortable and relaxing. Great view from room. Clean amd modern facilities. Good breakfast.
It’s nice and comfortable but the towels were rarely replaced and the breakfast wasn’t too good, but overall a solid stay! The employees were also very kind.
This hotel could do better. The pool is closed except during the day which is very annoying. Many rooms have two small single beds and they didn’t tell us until we found out that they could make them into a single queen bed.
The elevator system is confusing and everyone gets lost at the beginning.
The gym is absolutely not good (unusable really) and they said the sauna wasn’t working when it was...
Good room. Was clean. But I didint liked the location. Friendly Staff
Special thanks to Philip and Jasmine who work the front desk. Philip helped us get our room earlier than check in time which was great sunce we arrived at 6 a.m.
What I didn't like was the inability of English speaking members of staff who worked in key areas. This caused communication issues or misunderstandings.
The area felt safe and there are two supermarkets on either side of the hotel

This is a nice hotel for the budget conscious traveler within walking distance to the old town.
Super central, right in Lapa. Pleasant staff. Nice room. Good breakfast.
They should be more on top of the maintenance.
I asked to change my room, and they changed it without any problems. I asked for a working safe, and everything was done the next day. The food is buffet style. No one will go hungry. The location is close to the metro and the famous Cilaron staircase.
It's located in LAPA literally one block away from the world famous. Escadaria Selarón, locally known as the 'Lapa Steps'. If a good value is what you're looking for, this is definitely a great choice. The rooms are not luxurious, but they were clean, included wi-fi with air conditioning, and a working television though mostly Brazilian channels. The linen was clean, and showers hot, and included...

The hotel is dated, but well-maintained. Daily cleaning. There was even a sauna in the room, although it wasn't working. The room was large and spacious, with a giant shower. Breakfast was standard for Brazil: fruit (papaya, pineapple, melon, watermelon, bananas, and even peaches and plums early in the morning), bread/rolls, cheese, ham, and even fish pie, scrambled eggs, cereal, and yogurt. The location...
Great hotel! Great breakfast! One downside: the air conditioner in the room is old and doesn't cool it well. 15-minute walk to the beach.
The pictures are accurate that others have submitted. It is an old hotel and is certainly not on the beach or in some park like setting as some travel website photos might indicate. This is set right in an urban area and is an old, mostly well kept hotel. The price of a room somewhat indicates what you should be expecting. I was generally happy with the situation. The room did look like a 195...
Need to improve breakfast. Hot dishes that were cold. Little variety.
Clean reasonable hotel. Old furniture. Breakfast a little simple
ITS OK!
It is pet friendly, breakfast is good, and price is nice'
The room looks like its from the late 70s but its clean and customer service is good.
WIFI only works on the little room because the walls are made out of brick, so just go to the little room with a table inside your room ( you will know what I mean if you stay here)
close to the beach to walk my dog, and the beach is very safe day...

Great hotel for Rio business stays,….
Beautiful hotel with friendly staff (except for the lobby bar that was very bad). Gred Japanese restaurant at the 30t floor. Marveous view. Great breakfast.
Fantastic luxury hotel, with brilliant pool area. Walk across the street and your on the beach which is soo quiet compared to others in Rio. Rooms are very spacious, the bed and pillows were fantastic, and the view of the beach is worth the extra. Very good breakfast with good choices. Overall, I liked everything, the location is good, the breakfasts are good, they provide beach towels and umbrellas
The hotel has a great location and a good breakfast.
Cons:
No gym;
No iron provided.
The hotel's location is superb, very close to the Obelisco, Teatro Colón, and El Ateneo Grand Splendid. It was the only hotel on our South America trip that allowed early check-in and late check-out. They also helped us arrange a taxi, definitely recommended!
The hotel is good, but the toilets are small and inconvenient. The window latches are broken, so you can hear the street noise all night. The breakfasts are good and the staff is friendly.
Good location, nearby beach, also ipanema in walking distance. Breakfast is from 6 p.m. buffet not so rich but ok
The location is good, a 3-4-minute walk from Copacabana Beach. Breakfasts are delicious and nutritious. The front desk is open 24 hours a day. The only issues are the condition of the air conditioning in the room (very loud and worn out) and the visiting policy (no guests allowed, even temporarily; an additional fee is required for each guest).

Great breakfast, location, liquor store across the road beach 3 blocks and groceries 2 blocks money exchange 3 blocks amd dinning downstairs 3 restaurants.
Overall good, the price is high
I had a very busy five day schedule and the Hotel Nacional did an excellent job in providing me with lodgings that allowed me to focus on the work I had to do. It made me comfortable not only in body but in spirit. Staff were very friendly, accessible, and competent. I recommend the establishment very strongly without any concerns.
The service was okay, the rooms were old and worn out. Cracks on the walls, ants. The location was perfect though. Tiny grocery store across and a lot of places to eat. 3 blocks away from the beach

My husband and I have been back quite often. If we have to go again, we definitely will.
Old hotel, and in terms of construction and facilities it is very outdated and clearly showing the marks of time.
However, it has a team of employees and a service that overcomes the shortcomings, so that I feel at home there...
It is fair to say that it is a good hotel, with good service and a great breakfast.
I prefer Golden Park, but lately I've been woken up by noise in the hallways.
I was just unfortunate that the television wasn't working properly!
Hotel with large and noisy groups. The attention is not bad. There are nice restaurants on the sidewalk of the hotel.

Beautiful little boutique eco friendly hotel. Fantastic staff who go above and beyond to help with every detail. Good value. Our room was a tad small but only managed 2 nights before we moved on across Brasil so it was ok for our needs. Superb breakfast included. Would stay here again if coming to Ipanema again.
Excellent hotel with a strong commitment to ecology. Excellent breakfast menu: choose one combo or two dishes, and unlimited drinks (juice, water, coffee, etc.). The hotel provides complimentary beach towels, and at Ipanema Beach Zone 101, they provide free beach chairs and umbrellas.
Great hotel and they were very friendly. We really appreciate it
Unbeatable location just a block from Ipanema beach, felt safe in the neighborhood. Great breakfast options a la carte, though some items were smaller on the portion size. I stayed in their sweet with the jet tub which was very nice and the staff in general was very nice. The breakfast was okay but the only issue was the weakness of the Wi-Fi in the room. I had a lot of problems with getting a signal and was a having very difficult time trying to make plans and organize because of the inconsistency of the Wi-Fi. If they strengthen the Wi-Fi, this hotel would be outstanding
Didn't actually stay at Mengo Hotel. Hotel staff sent us to sister property next door for some reason.
We booked suite rooms with hot tubs. Rooms have much more space than we thought. Breakfast was great. They have varieties for breakfast, fresh fruits, and strawberry yogurt. Overall experienced were good.
