We had the absolute best time here last week. We had a junior sweet with large balcony. Room equipped with toiletries, dressing gown, slippers. The hotel does have old decor but that gives it a very cosy feel. All staff polite, smiling and welcoming, food amazing, ski hire below hotel. Mixed review. Lovely staff and breakfast great. Bedroom was supposed to be a junior suite with balcony but balcony tiny. Mattress was ancient and sagged badly. Housekeeping did get us a topper. Spa was lovely and pool.

We always enjoy the uniqueness of the place. Its location is great and the facilities are also good. We noticed an obvious uplift in food quality this year.

We had a fantastic week in Borovets staying here. Our room was big and comfortable, the hotel was quiet but we appreciated that after a day skiing and plenty of breakfast choices every morning. Lovely bar area with nice cocktails, we had dinner in the restaurant which was authentic Bulgarian food and the Spa was great.

Great week skiing as a couple in our early 20s. We chose this hotel as we had stayed in Bansko Hotel Lion and loved it so wanted to try here. Large and warm room on top floor. Travelled start of February for ski trip with my boyfriend. The mini bus transport to Borovets ski resort was amazing, it came very regularly and we have no complaints with that- it was amazing. The Samokov may hail from a different era but rooms are clean and very spacious great for the kids to hang out, much better than some of the neighbouring hotels. Basic facilities but ideal for a cheap ski break with family or friends. Very close to the piste (nothing is far from anything in Borovets). There were quite a few large groups staying but noise never seemed to be an issue. Considering you don't spend much time in the hotel when you're here to ski/board, it's ideal and would recommend for budget skiers.

Ideally placed next to the slopes in the forest to stop of a drink or lunch but really spoilt by loud music blasting out - why do these places do it. I am sure that the music is not for the customers - more likely the staff. Winter holidays with children. Only negative. Lots of people, and zero adjustments. The sauna is open until 9 o'clock and of course after skiing it is packed, and after dinner it is closed. Chalet was very cosy and met most of our expectations, however the sauna broke down during our visit. It was quickly fixed the following day, but it was too late. Everything was just perfect for our 5-days stay. The spa is TOP, the massages are done by professionals. I adore going there. It's warm, it has everything you need, they are welcoming pets, which is awesome! Perfeft place to chill after some slops.

I love it. It is cosy and warm and great for getting together with friends or having a romantic weekend with a partner. But heating is always on max thus it is super hot inside. The Staff is a bit rude and the water is not drinkable.

Great location & it really is ski in/out with the boot room just a few steps from the slope! Room was clean tidy & our balcony faced the slopes which was nice. Location is amazing - slopes are a few houndred meters away. Villas are with comfortable space and cozy holiday-environment. Great heating.
