Hotel Breza in Borovets

Very interesting place to stay in Borovets. It is very cozy. The location is probably the best in Borovets. It is very close to the gondola but in a quiet area with a lot of trees. Food is excellent. Service is very good. Rooms can be more spacious but I like them.

Keep in mind this is a family-owned place with the particularities of a such place (i.e. this is definitely not a big hotel chain branch).

We were able squeeze in a last minute ski trip right before we leave Bulgaria in December.
The hotel was everything we were looking for- - starting with the location - right next to the Yastrebetz lift. It’s a small cozy hotel, we loved the interior design - yes, the rooms are small - but we didn’t need anything bigger - after a long day skiing I just want to pass out in my bed, nothing more! The restaurant is charming, and the food was just great , we were eating there three times a day and everything we tried was just amazing. Yes, the fact that people are smoking in a restaurant left a bitter aftertaste but the ventilation was good so we were able to enjoy our food regardless. I think it’s a national thing and I really hope that next time we come back I’ll see less people smoking everywhere in general. What we loved the most was the service - the personnel is kind and attentive, and there wasn’t a wish we had that wasn’t accounted for - they just know how to make you feel comfortable, as if you’re home. I needed a firmer pillow, it’s coming right away; the first day we didn’t know that the spa was closing at 8 pm so we missed it because we were having dinner - they started the sauna just for us so we can end up a ski day the right way. I really feel that with all that extra effort they put, they deserve a rating way more than 3.8 overall.

I’ve been to Borovets many times and this is by far and away the best hotel I’ve stayed in. The hotel itself is gorgeous and in an amazing location 2 mins walk from the gondola. The room was big, comfortable and really well decorated. Service was spot on as was breakfast every day. The outdoor hot tubs and also steam room and sauna were the perfect end to a day snowboarding. I honestly can’t fault this hotel, my only hesitation in writing this review is I feel like it’s currently an undiscovered gem and I don’t want it to get so popular I can’t get booked in next year.

Stayed with a group of 8 adults across 4 rooms for a ski trip. Rooms were modern, clean and comfortable having recently benefited from a refurb, albeit very small. We had breakfast included in our rate, which was cooked fresh to order. This was basic, but when combined with a freshly ground coffee was a good start to the day! We enjoyed the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi too, although the floor around the jacuzzi was very icy and slippery.. not that they could do much about that! Location wise, Breza couldn’t be much better! It’s about 5 minute from the Rila/chair left side and 3 mins from the Gondola. We got a great rate by booking early and this is reflective in my review. I think if I’d paid £100+ a night it would score lower. Staff were friendly, but spoke minimal English.
