Family Hotel Vermona

I have selected only 1 star for all ratings simply because there are no lower ratings available. Certainly this hotel does not deserve even zero (0) stars, let alone 1 star! Tragic!!!
I am extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with the total lack of service, commitment, and basic honesty as demonstrated during our brief (we had to cut it short) and rather unpleasant stay at Family Hotel Vermona in Primorsko (Bulgaria).
Instead, due to the absolutely dreadful conditions, arrogant staff behavior, and lack of any BASIC service we were forced to leave in the early morning on Aug. 2. (we did not use 5 of the night stays we had prepaid!)

Here are SOME of the many shocking examples of our dissatisfaction:

- dirty bed sheets
- dirty bath towels
- dirty toilet bowl
- dirty porcelain sink/fixtures
- no soap in bathroom
- no shampoo in bathroom
- no shower curtain
- dirty shower head
- dirty bathroom wall tiles
- leaky/dirty water supply line to toilet water discharge tank
- only 1 (ONE) toilet paper roll/day (for 3 occupants!!!)
- rusty A/C unit (outside)
- moldy A/C unit (inside)
- missing air louvers of A/C (inside)
- burned out light bulb of balcony/terrace
- poor TV cable service (not clear picture)
- extremely slow/unreliable internet/WiFi service
- badly connected electrical sockets (partially exposed high voltage wires) on balcony
- no room cleaning service (no floor cleaning, no bathroom floor cleaning, etc.)

In addition to the above list (perhaps not complete due to the MANY items that were dirty/broken/missing/etc.) we were shocked by the complete lack of service and the arrogant/non-committal attitude of the hotel staff and hotel management.
For example, when we requested basic bathroom amenities (i.e., soap, shampoo, toilet paper) we were told to "economize them" and were directed to a nearby shop where we could purchase such items. Really?!?!?!??? Perhaps I am mistaken, but for the price we paid per night for this room, such minor items are to be expected and provided. In any hotel. In any country. In any season. PERIOD.

Our request for clean bed sheets and bathroom towels was denied. According to the woman at the front desk we should not be expecting such "luxury" since this was "only a 2-star" hotel. Instead, our bed sheets and bathroom towels will be changed in 4-5 days. Shocking!!! This lack of public hygiene is appalling, especially in the days of Covid-19 where even more attention to such cleanliness must be considered. But perhaps not in Family Hotel Vermona.

Another nasty example was our "foolish" request for a change of a burned out light bulb on the balcony/terrace. We were given excuses such as: "the boss has gone to Burgas (nearby major city in Bulgaria) and only he has the keys to the storage room where a spare light bulb can be found". We are talking about a basic light bulb here! This is not rocket science! We "played this game" for 3 days. Our numerous requests were ignored. Finally I gave up. We stayed in the dark balcony/terrace... and it was NOT "romantic"!

On the day of our departure (Aug. 2) we asked the front desk to help us get a taxi to the Primorsko (local town where this wretched hotel is located) bus station. The man at the desk could not be bothered with such "trivial" request. He said "there was no taxi service". Really???!!!! His suggestion was to walk to it. A distance of about 1,5 km. With two (sick) kids and luggage. I guess this was his suggestion for a "healthy" approach to our request.
We found a taxi on our own.

Lastly, due to the extremely dirty conditions, dirty air, moldy A/C, my two children got respiratory inflammation causing them to have difficulty breathing in addition to coughing and having sore throats.
We are at home now, spending time and money trying to get healthy again. Instead of enjoying the wonderful memories from our summer holidays. Memories which were completely ruined by the Family Hotel Vermona's inaptitude, arrogance, and lack of service.
NEVER VISIT Family Hotel Vermona AT ALL!!! NEVER!!!!
