Hotel Rostov in Pleven

There are bedbugs!
The staff know, owner knows , everybody knows, but nobody do anything about this issue. Someone has to alert the Healthcare Authority in Pleven.

It is mega dirty, the beddings and the towels were left dirty in the room. The cleaning staff came only once to change the trash and that was all.

The food is awful in the restaurant.

Terrible experience. My sister was bitten from the bedbugs, had an allergic reaction and end up in the hospital.

What an awful experience - staff pleasant however after an hour it was short lived. We had been at hospital all day in Pleven and booked Hotel Rustov based on its descriptions - sadly no air conditioning that was working, we had to have the windows open to air the room which was soon very noisy due to traffic music and bars outside, there’s a bucket full of water in the shower??? If we wanted a shower I am not sure of the purpose of it being there, then when we asked for cutlery to eat with our takeaway we ordered (Chinese) we were given 1 spoon and a cheese knife - to share between two people? When I asked why the restaurant was closed - I find it difficult to believe that room service doesn’t provide cutlery which is also mentioned online - the room is hot, small and not comfy at all - a refund will be requested - and I won’t recommend to anyone in the future - a stressful day waiting for outcome from hospital - was hoping to relax and feel comfortable hotel rustov did not deliver this or give us that experience or customer service and satisfaction at all

Order double deluxe room but the room extremely tight and claustrophobic. Can't even open my luggage in the room.

No idea how this is a 4 star hotel, the lift is old and could barely fit one person with luggage, the room reeks of old wood smell, even their double deluxe room is extremely tight and claustrophobic, the air conditioner was not working, our one night stay here was hellish, Hotel Panorama just opposite of this hotel offers a much better experience at almost the same price.

The staff at the reception was rude and gave an angry face. We had paid for Deluxe room on high floor, while they gave us the smallest possible room on 2nd floor. The room had dust all over it, the bathroom didn't seem clean and the pillows smelled disgusting 🤢.
There was no water during the whole day to use the bathroom as well. We have been to many hotels around Bulgaria, and we were not expecting much but the basic hygiene was not even met here.
Even 2 star hotels have better level than hotel rostov. We had booked it for 2 nights had to runaway after a single night. If you have any enemies, do recommend this hotel to them they will never bother you again.

The hotel has great location, that’s the only plus. First of all the lady that checked us in had no clue how to create an invoice, that’s quite important for a business trip. After it took us 10-15 minutes to check (after some travelling that counts for more time taken from your life) we went to the rooms they had prepared for us. They were small and cozy, but.. The mattress was old and uneven, the mini bar was unplugged from electricity (a few months ago, judging by the smell inside) although there were two bottles of water and three old bottles of juice, so it’s not a big deal. The walls are thin, you could hear the phone notification ringing from the room next door, so “bye, privacy, my old friend”. The bathroom wasn’t really cleaned in quite some time, there was no “sanitized” sign, the shower was leaking, the towels smelled like they may have been washed.. once.. some time ago.. There was no hairdryer in the room, when we got one from the reception there was only one place in the room to plug it, next to the tv AND the refrigerator, which means you can choose the one you need most and use it (this includes charging your phone, laptop etc. ONE place to plug electronics in the DOUBLE room). The phone that could help you reach the reception desk, without going a few floors up and down wasn’t working either, but that’s like a free gym card included, isn’t it? I understand Pleven is not a huge city, but this place should stand up to the standards of a FOUR STAR HOTEL IN THE CITY CENTRE.
