We were very happy with our room given the very reasonable price for an Old Quebec City location. One needs to have reasonable expectations in that it is not a new property, however, it is well maintained. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, breakfast was decent, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Parking is limited but as we did not have a car this was not important to us. We enjoyed walking everywhere. I forgot something in my room which I arranged to have mailed to my home and it arrived before I did.

We loved our stay at Hotel Champlain! I’ve been meaning to write a review of our vacation in July 2025. The location is close to all the major tourist sites in Quebec City and the area was very safe. Check in was fine, but they use an older system that did delay us a little during check out.

We booked it during a promotion and we were able to get free breakfast, which was delightful.

The parking was very tight, but if you have a backup camera, and/or skilled enough to handle your vehicle, you can manage to reverse into your assigned parking spot. Reversing in will make life much easier when it’s time to depart.

We had 2 rooms and they were large, clean and quiet. It’s nice staying at a Boutique hotel that had all the needed amenities, offered an excellent breakfast and was pet friendly.

When we visit Quebec City next time, Hotel Champlain would be our first choice!

My mom and I stayed here over Christmas. We stayed in one of the Junior suites and it was lovely! Very spacious and the electric fireplace really created a Christmas atmosphere for us. The staff were all very friendly! The breakfast buffet wasa good start to our day. It was very close to the Christmas markets and other shopping.

My mom & stayed there for 3 nights. Such kind customer service. We loved our room, the way each bed was against its own wall. Very nice layout. Only suggestion would be a safety grip bar in the tub. I didn’t think of that when booking, especially where my mom seems so youthful to me, she is 81 yrs young. We enjoyed two mornings of the breakfast there. Great location, we parked in the nearby parking garage, only a few minutes walk away,

Highly recommend this hotel. It’s in a great location for easy walking around the main areas of interest. The room was clean and spacious and there’s a lift so minimal hassle with heavy bags. The bed and pillows were comfortable and there was no noise to disturb sleep. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. I noted parking spaces at ground level which I guess could be booked ahead however we were travelling by train. Breakfast included and good range to choose from and a great coffee machine. There was a choice of wines by the glass from a dispenser in the reception area with payment by a card purchased at the desk. Thanks for a great stay.

**Hôtel Le Concorde Québec, Quebec, Canada – A great experience for solo travelers**

This time I traveled to Quebec alone and was very satisfied with the overall experience of staying at the Champlain Hotel! The hotel is in an excellent location, close to the old town and Chateau Fontana. You can explore the main attractions on foot and have a wide view, especially the high-rise rooms overlooking the St. Lawrence River, with a super beautiful night view.

The service is especially commendable - the front desk was very friendly and took the initiative to arrange **early check-in** for me and **waived the extra fee**, so that I could rest immediately after the long flight, which was really thoughtful! The room is clean and comfortable. Although the facilities are not the latest, they are well maintained, the bedding is soft and the sound insulation is good.

Overall, the price-performance ratio is very high, the service is flexible and thoughtful, and it is highly recommended for solo travel or vacation!

The room is quite big, the area is isolated, which is quite surprising, clean and tidy, very good

The room was very large.

The hotel is located in the old city, and it is very convenient to go to the main attractions, basically about 20 minutes' walk away. The hotel style is more European, artistic and warm, and the room furnishings are beautiful. You can buy breakfast at the front desk for 18 Canadian dollars per person including tax. Children under 12 years old are free. There are not many varieties, but the taste is very good. There is an iron gate on the right side of the hotel. There is an exclusive parking space for the hotel. The parking spaces are limited, about 20. You need to contact the front desk in advance to reserve. The parking fee is 25 Canadian dollars for one day of stay. The space is relatively small, and a 7-seater car may not be able to park in it. Of course, there are paid parking spaces on the roadside in front of the hotel, but there are often no spaces. Pets can be brought in for 25 Canadian dollars each, which is a very cheap price. Canadian hotels do not provide slippers and toiletries, but towels, so prepare them before check-in. The overall stay experience was good, I will consider it next time.

Very old hotel, big rooms, big beds, good location, parking spaces need to be booked in advance.

Very disappointing. The atmosphere and food were extremely out-dated. The food was very expensive, and felt like it should be served from a cheap truck stop. Many of the things advertised are no longer available, and the few options they do have are not very good. The shrimp was freezer burnt and inedible.
The staff was the only saving grace. They were all very kind and helpful, but it could not make up for the awful, over-priced food.

We loved this place!! We went there for breakfast almost every day and for dinner once. The food is good and offers a great variety to include traditional Québécois dishes and the staff is amazing!!

Good food, good service. Became really amusing and nice with the live music later in the evening. A little pricey, but not too bad and nothing out of the ordinary in Old Quebec.

I'm from Quebec. I disliked my experience. The food was ok at best. The cheese cake was not any cheese cake I had ever had, it was spongy and had a weird texture. The service was slow and lacked sync. We were seven, half were served while the rest of us waited another 5 min for our plates. Offering desert took another 15-20 minutes. Again not everyone was served at the same time. Last but not least, the waiter lacked class in his manners and his actions. I was expecting more from a place called "Café de Paris".
Or maybe it's me?
It was my first and last.

Very nice place! The food was fantastic, and service very thoughtful, efficient, and friendly. This place is pretty fancy, but as casual as we were dressed, we were still very welcome to dine there. I'd love to go back and order a full course meal, we just had soup. Very authentic, older building, was a memorable stop for lunch!

The crepe was bigger than I thought. It has a soft, warm, mild, and delicious taste. Service is really good. This restaurant is the best place to eat breakfast. It is underestimated.

Another fantastic visit to this crepe restaurant. Great prices with fresh food. Couldn't get the berries so banana was the only fruit option. Very generous portion size. Worth a visit for a crepe.

Beware if you are a vegetarian. Very limited choices. Just an after thought. Almost everything has bacon or ham in it. Even soups. Cosy n warm ambience. Can't comment on meat items. For vegetarian items little expensive. Like most buildings in the capital, not really well heated.

The service was nice but slow it is a typical “tourist trap” avoid it. We ask for sweet crepes they said no fruits that Tuesday! My wife order one ham and Swiss full wheat and it only have one slice of ham and one slice of cheese! It was ridiculous. The answer they gave us was because there was not enough ingredients. Go figure; the actitud was pretty much if you don’t like it don’t come back.
So we won’t ever be back!

The food is very nice. The service was okay, but they forgot part of my order. I had to remind them I ordered soup so I had soup after my main course. Otherwise, a good place and not very expensive.

Nice place with crazy selection of whiskey for all whiskey lovers and good selection of beer too! I was also pleasantly surprise by quality of food. I definitely recommend nachos!

Nice place to have a good beer! In addition, the view is superb! Beautiful terrace on st-jean and full of shop and restaurant nearby! The service was friendly and fast. The St-Patrick burger and the fish'n'chip were very good. We would go back!

We decided to come here even after reading the bad reviews and we were NOT disappointed. The food is incredible, the drinks are incredible and service was great!! There was only one waitress/bartender working upstairs but I did not feel neglected at all! The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and they have good music playing! Also, there are TVs with sports on (my husband was very happy lol). I wish I had found this place sooner!

Really like this place. Been here 3 times (every time we've gone to QC). Right in the heart of Vieux-Quebec, great spot to have a beer. It's split into a couple spots: there's an upstairs dining / bar area, then there's a downstairs which is much larger, more for drinking than eating. Downstairs, there is a nice cozy room with the omnipresent QC exposed stone and a fireplace. Overall, food is prob a 7-7.5/10 but atmosphere is great, location is great.

We stopped here for lunch. They were packed. Despite this, we were seated on the patio and served promptly. I had the grilled salad and it was perfect if you don't want a heavy meal. Great selection of craft beers and I enjoyed the Charles Henri Amber.
