I chose the Nikko Hotel for my trip to Wuxi this time, and the overall experience was fantastic – definitely a five-star review! From check-in to check-out, every staff member was incredibly polite. The front desk was efficient and even thoughtfully asked about my floor preference. Room service was very responsive; extra toiletries were delivered within minutes, making me feel right at home. The location is superb! It's right by the ancient canal, just a few minutes' walk to Nanchang Street and Qingming Bridge, which was super convenient for evening strolls and dining. It's also very close to Nanchansi Temple and Sanyang Plaza, easily accessible by taxi or subway. The room was clean and tidy, with spotless bedding, carpets, and bathroom facilities. The disinfection was thorough, so I felt very comfortable staying there. Although it's an older five-star hotel, the facilities are well-maintained. The mattress was just right – neither too soft nor too hard – so I slept very comfortably. The view was expansive, offering a lovely night view of the canal. The gym and swimming pool are also open to guests, so the amenities are complete. I would definitely choose this hotel again.

Overall, it was a good stay. The night view was beautiful, and it's very close to Nanchang Street and Nanchansi Temple, both within walking distance. During the May Day holiday, there was even a wind chimes making activity. The only downsides were that it's located near a scenic area, and it seems like there's subway construction happening, so traffic was a bit congested.

Ever since this hotel has been built I have wanted to stay there. It was supposed to be one of the top hotels in Wuxi. As I have been travelling to Wuxi for over 26 years I decided to treat myself.
What a disappointment.
The shower gel was empty, It was impossible to get a seat at breakfast and the breakfast room looked like a war zone. It took me 15 minutes to get a coffee due to the sheer size of the people wiating in line. On top of that the staff looked miserable.
All in all, it's not worth the money and there are much cheaper and better options in my opinion. I definitely will not be staying again.
One really good thing though, was the view from my room.

Overall, the hotel is pretty good. The room service is friendly, and there's a wide variety of breakfast options. It's right by Nanchan Street, so getting around is very convenient, and there are all sorts of great restaurants nearby. I gave the facilities a four-star rating because the gym and pool are outsourced, and the hygiene is really lacking. The cleaning lady in the women's changing room spent the entire time sitting on the only chair in the vanity area, playing on her phone. These should be standard facilities for a five-star hotel and shouldn't be run as a separate profit-generating business unit. I understand that hotel operations are tough these days, but even if outsourcing is necessary, at least the hygiene standards should be managed properly.

This hotel was our favorite during our week-long trip with my parents. The attention to detail in the facilities made us feel right at home, like a real home away from home, which is why we extended our stay for several days. During our visit, we also went to the Rongshi Meiyuan Garden and had the opportunity to learn about the history of the Rong family. 👍👍👍

The hotel is conveniently located, within walking distance of Nanchang Street Ancient Canal and Nanchan Temple. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. The room was spacious and clean. The service was excellent, and there was an ample supply of bottled drinking water.

This is a hotel I frequently stay at when in Wuxi. Usually, the standard rooms are decent, very clean, and the service is excellent. However, for this stay, my child insisted on booking the 'Little Yellow Duck' themed room. Overall, the experience was just okay, with several issues that need improvement. The room wasn't cleaned thoroughly; there was dust on the desktop. The indoor children's slide was missing parts and damaged, posing a safety risk, which made me uneasy with kids around. The air conditioning was quite noisy, especially noticeable in a quiet environment. Moreover, the room had a prominent strange smell. We switched rooms twice, but both had a strong, pungent odor, possibly emanating from the soft furnishings. This significantly impacted the overall comfort of our stay. I hope these issues are addressed promptly.

Service: The service was excellent. When the TV wasn't working at first, I called room service and they came to fix it right away.

Facilities: The facilities are neither very new nor very old. The atrium on the 9th floor is very nice, and the room generally has everything you need. The downsides are that the TV in my room was a bit old, and if people outside were loud, you could hear them clearly. The showerhead also made a squeaky noise when the water was turned on. What I found most unacceptable was the bedside outlet – my Huawei phone charger wouldn't fit! I had to charge my phone at the desk.

Breakfast: Breakfast was excellent. It was spacious, had a full selection of dishes, and tasted great. The coffee was made by a machine and had a pure flavor.

Location: The location is very good, with many restaurants nearby. It's only a 2-3 minute walk to NanChang Street.

The hotel's location is absolutely superb. After exiting the hotel and turning right, you walk about 100 meters, go through an underpass to cross the road, and you'll emerge directly facing Nanshangtang. The famous Nanchang Street is just across the river, parallel to Nanshangtang. Nanshangtang is narrower, while Nanchang Street is wider, and there's a bridge connecting them. If you keep walking straight, you'll reach Qingming Bridge, which offers beautiful views. If you don't feel like walking along the river, there's a ferry you can take. It's very pleasant to wander around, shop, and eat. When you get tired, you can easily return to the hotel to rest and then head out again to see the night views when it gets dark. The hotel is a well-established five-star property, and its facilities are definitely up to standard, offering an old-school luxury. The room decor still has a decade-old style, which is understandable, but the rooms are spacious, and the view of Nanchang Street at night from the window is stunning. The hotel is also very close to the airport, a convenient 20-minute drive. It's about 10 kilometers to Yuantouzhu, and some traffic during cherry blossom season is to be expected and acceptable.

Service: The only thing I was dissatisfied with was the service. There was absolutely none of the rigorously trained service attitude you'd expect from a long-standing hotel. During check-in and check-out, there were no smiles or greetings like "hello." This wasn't just a few individuals; it was consistent across all front desk staff and the luggage storage area. They were cold and unwelcoming, which was very surprising. A smile should be a basic requirement.
