The room design was a bit odd, perhaps futuristic? The bathtub and sink felt particularly awkward to use. The breakfast service, despite being a bit chaotic (perhaps due to cost-cutting leading to insufficient staff training on busy days?), was generally good, with a wide variety of dishes. The front desk staff were quite service-oriented, thoughtful, and flexible in their approach, and Trip.com's assistance also played a big part! Overall, a good experience!

The room was spacious and well-equipped, though a bit dated. Soundproofing wasn't great. However, the breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of delicious options. Given that it used to be a state guesthouse, the hotel grounds are beautiful.

Our group consisted of five people, all elderly, frail, or recovering from illness: a senior over 90, a late-stage Parkinson's patient who had just fallen, someone 9 months post-femoral neck fracture surgery, and two others over 60. We came to Dongshan Hotel specifically to relax and unwind. Over our 3-day, 2-night stay, we truly experienced excellent service. When we needed a stool for showering due to inconvenience, it was delivered immediately. Fearing our canes might slip on a wet spot, we asked for a towel, and someone promptly came to wipe it dry. The room was spacious with a balcony, clean, and tidy. Breakfast was very generous, and the meals were incredibly delicious. The hotel itself is like a scenic spot, so there's no need to go out exploring, which was perfect for us. Upon check-in, we added the butler's WeChat, making communication easy and prompt. Although we booked through Ctrip without meals, which was more expensive than a live stream deal, we still felt it was an excellent value. We highly recommend Dongshan Hotel for its 5-star environment, service, and overall ambiance.

I specifically chose this hotel by Lake Taihu, and it certainly didn't disappoint. It boasts an entire lake view, far from the city's hustle and bustle. I spent my time strolling by the lake or simply sitting in a daze, and I felt completely relaxed. The room service was incredibly thoughtful; all my requests were handled promptly, and the attention to detail was exceptional. It was a perfect short getaway.

We chose Dongshan Hotel during the loquat season. The Ningbi Building is beautifully and grandly decorated, built by the lake with a Southern Chinese architectural style. The gardens are serene, the room is spacious, and the bedding is clean and odorless. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area with both a shower and a bathtub, and all toiletries are provided. Watching the sunrise from the lakeside path was an absolutely stunning experience. This was a really great stay.

It's loquat season again, and as usual, we stayed at Yuxia Tower. The room was spacious and came with a welcome fruit platter. I do wish they'd swap the welcome fruit for seasonal loquats though! As for service, they were very responsive to all our requests, except that the front desk was unstaffed at night, requiring us to go to the front desk across the way. A special shout-out to Wang Jing from the front desk! My elderly family member left their phone behind at the hotel, and Wang Jing went above and beyond to help us mail it back. Her attitude was excellent, and we're very grateful.

The garden design is really innovative, with greenery everywhere. It's so pleasant to take a stroll by Taihu Lake. The hotel is conveniently located opposite Qi Garden, which is small but charming. It's also very close to Huadiao Building, Daixin Bridge, and Luxiang Village. The air is fresh, and there are loquat trees all over the mountains. I'll definitely come back when the loquats are ripe!

This is an older state guesthouse, and the location is decent. I arrived around 11 AM. Even though Ctrip showed plenty of available rooms, the front desk insisted I couldn't check in until 2 PM. I booked a room in the Diecui Building, which isn't lakeside. The room they assigned me was near the children's playground, so it was quite noisy. I wasn't thrilled with the room layout; the facilities are dated. There's no partition between the room and the bathroom, so the sound of washing disturbed my family. The shower also lacks a door, making it a bit cold, and the drainage was very slow, causing water to overflow and flood the floor after showering.
