Pankun Business Hotel in Kunming

Better described as Pankun Love Hotel

Located at the junction of Qingnian rd and Dongfeng Rd. East, although strategic, it's not easy to spot in the evening as this hotel has a dark facade and is overshadowed by the bright LEDs from the buildings next to it. The lobby itself has quite low light and is filled with smoke from the guest smoking inside the lobby. "No smoking" sign is there, but ashtrays are provided on the table and nobody cares.

Check in process was a nightmare - with non English speaking staff, without proper understanding how hotel booking websites like Agoda works, we were served by 5 staffs who didn't know what they were doing and took min. 30 mins to process our check in. They did not even care of apologize for making us waiting so long. Scanner was not working and no-one know how else to take our passport particular.

The lift is small, you need to air it for at least one minute before you can step in and breathe in there. It's filled with cigarette smoke!

Room is rather big, but very run down and filled with cigarette stench on it's curtain and fixture. It's also quite low light, no ceiling light in the room, the brightest yellow light came from a naked table lamp without the shade. It's quite dark you wont be able to check whether the beds are clean or dirty. The bathroom floor is not level, the bottom of shower screen was not properly sealed so water from the shower room seeped out and created a pool of water on the floor where you stand in front of the wash basin - right at the entrance of the bathroom. I almost fell in the middle of the night when I woke up and went into bathroom.

The bottom of bathroom door frame was moldy, no dresser mirror in the bedroom, lighting was dark so if you need to do your make up, buy your own lamp and fix it in the room!

Staff were not helpful. They don't speak English at all and doesn't seem to have any international exposure and don't understand what hospitality means. When we asked where we could get dinner, they answered: "Just go outside and you can find lots of food". Truth is, although the location is good, you don't see eateries as far as your eyes can see, you need to walk min. 10 mins away to see your first eatery on Nanping Rd.

You can also rent the room hourly, vibrated condom was provided in the room.

If you are not Chinese native and do not love the stench of cigarettes all over the hotel, do not enter!
