For an InterContinental brand, I'd expect at least a Dyson or a good local imitation, not an unknown brand button hairdryer that's both ineffective and unsightly. It even pinched my hand twice while I was drying my hair

Crowne Plaza offered the best value for money, and Jenny's service was by far the most thoughtful. Just a small suggestion: the water pressure from the faucets in the room could be improved as it was a bit low

Although it's an older establishment, the overall quality is still decent, and the location is convenient for feeding seagulls. The hotel even provides bread for feeding them. The toiletries have always been high quality

However, there aren't many shops around the hotel. For dining, it's either the hotel restaurant or ordering takeout. Park 1903 Commercial Street is about 3 kilometers away, so it's more suitable if you have a car

The hotel is located right by Dianchi Lake, with separate lanes for vehicles and pedestrians. There's an observation deck not far from the hotel, and it's about 800-900 meters to Haigeng Park and Haihong Wetland

However, you still have to walk further to get to the cable car station, and I estimate the dam is even further – I didn't go there. 3 kilometers from Xingti Road Station on Metro Line 5

The hotel also provided a dedicated shuttle service to the Ethnic Village. The golf course behind the hotel offers a beautiful environment, and it's conveniently located just across the road from Dianchi Lake

Our package included one complimentary drop-off service to the metro station, which was really good. It would be even better if they offered round-trip shuttle service to the metro for backpackers

Walking distance to Plaza 66, many traditional tea shops nearby and a very short 5 min Didi ride to The Mixc Kunming mall which I highly recommend as a modern place to shop and dine at! Many good options
