Lian Yun Hotel in Kunming

The courtyard was better than the rooms. The whole building was dilapidated, a 1970s structure that felt like a dangerous building. The hallway carpets were incredibly dirty and old, and the rooms were even worse. The floors were filthy, made of cheap wood, and the bathroom floor looked like a garbage dump. There was even a bug crawling on the pillow. The bedding smelled awful, and the whole room reeked of aspergillin. The window locks were broken. Behind the building, there were various places where people were laughing and joking late at night. The whole building had some kind of equipment that kept humming, a low-frequency noise that was unbearable to listen to. The blankets made my skin itchy! The showerhead was broken, and the water flow was weaker than a child urinating! In short, a terrible experience! 350 yuan a night, not even as good as a 70-yuan guesthouse in an urban village!

1. Supplies were not replenished and management was lacking. Supplies were not replenished for 6 out of 7 days, including paper towels, slippers, toothbrushes, shampoo, shower gel, etc. Every day when I needed them, I found that they were not there. What's even funnier is that on the 7th day, when I came back from outside, I found that the toiletries were not put there again. When I called the staff to replenish the toiletries, a staff member came to my door and said that he had asked the waiter in charge, and the waiter said that they were put there every day, and asked to go into the room to check. After checking, there were indeed no toiletries, so I replenished the toiletries. But I was unhappy. Does this mean that I secretly hid them every day and wanted to have more? ! It's really funny! Supplies were not replenished for 6 out of the 7 days I stayed. You didn't check the surveillance or the relevant person in charge, but suspected me and checked me? ! So I checked out decisively, cancelled the subsequent orders, and asked for the room fee for that night.
2. The female front desk staff was cold and arrogant, as if it was an honor for customers to live in this hotel. After all, ordinary guests were not accepted in the past, and now ordinary guests should be grateful!
3. The room is small and the facilities are simple and shabby. The bathroom door is open, maybe 3 cm away from the toilet (as can be seen in the uploaded photos), and the room door is open, maybe 10 cm away from the wall (as can be seen in the uploaded photos). The gaps between the room door and the balcony door are very large, and the wind blows into the room, and the army of mosquitoes can also pass through unimpeded. I killed 10 mosquitoes a day and still got bitten.
4. Noise. The air conditioner was deafening at night, and the electric drills during renovations were noisy during the day.
5. Good location, close to the zoo and Cuihu Lake; good security, takeaway express delivery is not allowed in. This is the reason why I stayed here despite all the discomfort. I brought my children with me, and I attached great importance to safety and convenience of going out.
